Chapter 238: Wild Jungle

There are twelve Earthly Branch Tokens, each one granting a portion of power within the Immortal Residence, much like a steward possessing numerous privileges. If someone can collect all twelve Earthly Branch Tokens, they will gain complete control of the entire Immortal Residence, becoming its true master...

This was the key information Su Rui had gleaned from the "Ugly" token. Upon receiving this information, a sudden realization dawned on him: he finally understood why the Qingcheng Sect's ancestors, despite having benefited greatly from the Langya Immortal Residence, ultimately failed to fully control it. Clearly, they hadn't collected the crucial twelve Earthly Branch tokens.

Su Rui secretly speculated that the Qingcheng Sect likely possessed far more than one Earthly Branch Token. However, he was puzzled. When the Sect Master allowed him to enter the Langya Immortal Residence to explore, why didn't he instruct him to seek out those Earthly Branch Tokens in order to gain full control of the Langya Immortal Residence? Su Rui had no idea. However, after careful consideration, he deduced that the reason might be related to his own limited strength.

For him now, completely controlling the entire Immortal Residence was simply a pipe dream, but controlling only a portion of it was within reach. The area controlled by the "Ugly" token in his hand was precisely the area around the Fengtu High Platform and Guanlan Pavilion. This fact gave Su Rui a complicated feeling.

After all, he had already personally explored that area, not only that, but he had also taken the extremely precious Jiuyi Ding from the burial platform. It could be said that there was nothing valuable left there worth exploring further. If the area governed by the token he had originally obtained was elsewhere, such as the Dragon Farming Pond, the medicinal fields, or the wild jungle, perhaps there would be unexpected and rich harvests! Furthermore, if it was a place as important as the courtyard, perhaps even more surprising treasures could be discovered!

Fortunately, there's still an extremely valuable item hidden there—the Grand Formation of the Heavenly Stars! Furthermore, this "Ugly" token happens to possess the power to control the Grand Formation of the Heavenly Stars. If Su Rui can seize this opportunity to fully comprehend the Grand Formation of the Heavenly Stars, it will undoubtedly be the greatest gain of this trip! However, the most urgent matter now is to quickly explore the wild jungle, lest someone else grab the advantage first.

After carefully hiding the token in his arms, Su Rui didn't dare to delay for a moment and immediately turned and left, heading towards the wild grass and jungle. The Langya Immortal Residence was vast, covering at least one hundred acres, and the Dragon Breeding Pond was most likely the core of the entire immortal residence. From the courtyard to the wild grass and jungle, one not only had to cross a rockery, but also pass through a huge spiritual farm cultivated behind the rockery.

However, due to long periods of neglect, this once fertile spiritual field has now become a wasteland of wild and tangled grass. Su Rui could tell that this was once a spiritual field because when he passed by, he unexpectedly discovered some large, spiritually charged rice grains, as well as exceptionally lush wheat and neatly arranged wild vegetables of different varieties.

This discovery made Su Rui ecstatic. He immediately began to pick a large amount of ripe rice and wheat, and removed many thriving spiritual rice, wheat, and various wild vegetables from the spiritual field. He also dug up a lot of high-quality soil and put it into the storage space he carried with him. He planned to plant it by the pool at Golden Whip Cliff after he left to see if he could create a spiritual field.

Afterwards, Su Rui crossed the spiritual field and walked into the grassy jungle area.

As he entered the area, he was greeted by a parade of unusually large peach trees. These trees were unlike anything he'd ever seen; they seemed unconstrained by the laws of season. Some were bursting with vibrant, colorful blossoms, a breathtaking spectacle. Others were laden with enormous, mouth-watering peaches. Others, however, seemed to be trapped in the depths of winter, their branches bare and twisted like dragons.

The jungle floor is covered with dense weeds, with patches of vines growing in between. They are like green ribbons entwined between the trees, giving people a sense of complexity, as if they are a natural barrier that prevents outsiders from breaking in.

Occasionally, a few small and exquisite birds fly overhead, making clear and melodious calls, as if they are looking for food; hardworking wild bees shuttle among the flowers, diligently collecting nectar; colorful butterflies dance gracefully, adding a bit of vitality and vigor to this quiet forest; on a branch not far away, a noble and elegant crane stands tall and graceful, carefully combing its beautiful feathers.

Everything in front of me forms a poetic and vibrant picture, with lush grass and flying birds, a natural and peaceful scene.

Just as Su Rui was deeply shocked by the wondrous and magnificent scene and sighed heartily, a swift and agile figure suddenly rushed out from the dense woods and in the blink of an eye leaped onto the top of the peach tree laden with pink peaches. It was an exceptionally strong and large macaque, very different from what he usually saw.

After it stood firmly on the branch, it seemed to sense Su Rui's presence. It blinked its golden eyelids slightly, scratched its face lightly, and spoke clearly, as if speaking a human voice: "Is this someone from the outside world?"

Su Rui was startled, realizing immediately that this was no ordinary monkey, but a spirit monkey that had cultivated to a level of spirituality and could understand human language! Without hesitation, he replied, "That's right!"

The macaque pondered for a moment, then patted his head as if suddenly remembering something, muttering to himself, "Well, judging by the time, the time to open the government has indeed arrived!"
