Su Rui originally planned to choose the Tianlong Sword Soldier with great killing power. After all, the Taoist soldier who claimed to "carry the supreme sword inheritance, can turn his body into a sword at will, and arrange the Tianlong Sword Formation to kill demons, and the decision to kill is only in a thought" has such powerful killing power that any sword cultivator would choose the Tianlong Sword Soldier without hesitation!
However, Su Rui hesitated for a long time and finally made another choice - Jinpeng Daobing.
In situations of absolute advantage, a Tianlong Swordsman might be able to kill with great pleasure. However, if they encounter an enemy they cannot easily defeat, even the most decisive killing will be futile. Instead, it would be better to steadily improve one's own swordsmanship.
The Golden Peng Dao soldiers, however, are different. While their killing power may not be as formidable as that of the Heavenly Dragon Sword Soldiers, there's an old saying: "The only martial art in the world that can be defeated is speed." If you can defeat your opponent, then attack with all your might; if you're outmatched, a timely retreat is wise. After all, this is a proven winning strategy for countless great men!
Su Rui understood the importance of speed. Sometimes, victory isn't achieved solely through direct action; flexibility and adaptability are equally crucial. The Jinpeng Daoist's swift mobility affords him a wide range of options and strategies for dealing with complex situations.
After Su Rui selected the Golden Peng Taoist Soldier, the other Taoist soldiers' commanders clasped their fists and said goodbye, setting up various colored escape lights and disappearing in various places in the Sumeru space. Only a handsome and tall man with golden eyes and a hint of rebelliousness on his face remained.
Su Rui had originally envisioned forming a mixed elite team. He planned to recruit seventy-two Golden Peng Daoists and then one or two each from the Giant Elephant, Si Teng, and Heavenly Dragon ranks, for a total of eighty-one Daoists. This would both increase the team's diversity and enhance its endurance. However, these Daoist commanders refused to give him a chance and simply left, thwarting his plan. Helplessly, Su Rui abandoned his plan.
"What's your name?" Su Rui looked at the man in front of him and asked.
"My name is Jin Twelve. Your Excellency, please call me Old Jin!" The man clasped his fists and bowed, then responded loudly. His voice was so resonant and powerful that it seemed to penetrate the entire Xumi space.
"I am Su Qinghe, the true disciple of Yu'e Zhenren!" Su Rui first introduced himself, and then he ordered bluntly: "Twelve, within the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, organize an elite team of no more than ninety-nine people!"
As he spoke, the tiger talisman token above Su Rui's head suddenly flashed with dazzling light, and then split into two halves. One half, accompanied by a bright golden light, quickly sank into the body of Jin Twelve, the commander of the Jinpeng Taoist soldiers.
"Yes, sir!"
After the tiger talisman entered his body, Jin Twelve's body trembled violently, and the defiant look on his face instantly disappeared without a trace. He immediately bent down respectfully, clasped his hands together, and responded in a low but firm voice.
Then, Jin Twelve's figure flashed, revealing his true form as the Golden Peng, his body ablaze with golden light. He flapped his wings and soared high, like a flash of lightning across the sky. With lightning speed, he disappeared from Su Rui's sight in the blink of an eye.
A cup of tea passes in a flash.
Su Rui found a quiet spot nearby and sat down, contentedly enjoying the last delicious peach he had brought from the Langya Immortal Mansion. Just then, a massive golden cloud suddenly appeared from the distant horizon, bearing down like a golden mountain. In a flash, it reached Su Rui, its speed astonishing.
Above the golden clouds, eighty-one Taoist soldiers, clad in golden armor and bearing long swords, stood majestically, like an impenetrable golden fortress. Standing at the forefront was none other than the leader of the Golden Peng Taoist soldiers—Jin Twelve.
When Jin Twelve saw Su Rui, he led the Taoist soldiers behind him without hesitation, descended from the golden cloud, and knelt before Su Rui in unison, saying in a loud voice: "Twelve has fulfilled his mission!"
Su Rui nodded slightly, expressing satisfaction. His eyes swept over each of the Taoist soldiers behind Jin Twelve, sensing the powerful aura they emanated. He knew in his heart that Jin Twelve wasn't being perfunctory. So, he reached out and gently helped Jin Twelve up.
"You did a great job! Now all the Taoist soldiers enter the military talisman and wait quietly for my call!"
As Su Rui spoke with such force, he began to activate the Tiger Talisman above his head with all his might. Instantly, the talisman emanated a dazzling golden light, like a surging golden torrent, illuminating the group of Golden Peng Dao soldiers in front of him with the force of thunder.
All the Taoist soldiers, including Jin Twelve, did not resist and were instantly swept away by the golden light emitted from the token and taken into the tiger token.
When Su Rui first received the Tiger Talisman, he keenly perceived its unique internal space, capable of housing and concealing a large number of Daoist soldiers. This ingenious design allowed disciples who received Daoist soldiers to carry them freely over long distances, even across thousands of miles. This function of the Tiger Talisman was not only practical but also demonstrated the refiner's meticulous care and consideration for its users.
So far, Su Rui had successfully completed the task of receiving the Taoist soldiers, but this was only the beginning. Next, a series of more important tasks awaited him: how to effectively train and familiarize himself with these Taoist soldiers, making them his most loyal and capable combat partners.
