Three days later, the sun was shining brightly and the sky was cloudless.
Deep within the majestic Kunlun Mountains, a mysterious and solemn palace, the Jade Void Palace, stands tall. At this moment, the elites of nearly every righteous sect gather here, all with a common goal: to enter the ruins of the Heavenly Palace through the South Heavenly Gate.
Su Rui, Yuan Ning, and Zhang Beiyang, representatives of the Qingcheng Sect, now entered the Yuxu Palace. Ever since the collapse of the Heavenly Palace, the South Heavenly Gate has been sealed within the Kunlun Sect's forbidden caves, like a sleeping giant. The ruins of the Heavenly Palace, once a sacred place, have practically become the Kunlun Sect's private garden. Countless precious celestial materials and treasures have continuously flowed into the Kunlun Sect, becoming a powerful support for its leadership in the righteous path.
However, fate is full of twists and turns. The Xuanyin Sect suddenly appeared out of nowhere, somehow finding the fallen North Heaven Gate in the mortal realm. They gathered a large number of demonic heretics and quietly infiltrated the ruins of the Heavenly Palace under cover of night, hoping to seize this opportunity to overthrow the Kunlun Sect. This sudden attack plunged the Kunlun Sect into an unprecedented crisis and shattered their monopoly on enjoying the Heavenly Palace ruins and the aura of the Great Dao.
To save the sect from imminent danger, the Kunlun Sect was forced to send a call for assistance to other righteous sects. All the major sects responded, joining forces to resist the invasion of the evil. After a thrilling and bloody battle, they finally successfully repelled the enemy and safeguarded the dignity of righteousness.
The Emei Sect was a rising star that quickly rose to prominence in the fierce battles with evil demons and heretics.
These stories were all recorded in the Qingcheng Sect's Sutra Library and the memories of the Zhushan Sect's leader, so Su Rui knew much more than Zhang Beiyang.
As the South Heaven Gate was raised by Kunlun's master, Tianji Zhenren, like a majestic gate to heaven, everyone finally arrived at the critical moment to enter the ruins of the Heavenly Palace.
Because of concerns that unorthodox practitioners might unleash unconventional tactics, such as suddenly storming the gate and forcibly seizing it, all present Yuanshen Zhenren (Primordial Spirits) were divided into two groups, according to traditional rules: one group would remain at the South Heavenly Gate, while the other would lead the group into the Heavenly Palace ruins. Unfortunately, Zhenren Xiao Ge was unlucky and drew the lot to remain at the South Heavenly Gate, unable to lead the group himself.
Faced with this situation, Su Rui and the other two had no choice but to follow the Emei Sect's team and enter the Heavenly Palace ruins under the leadership of a real elder of the Emei Sect.
The South Gate of Heaven before us is extremely large, dozens of feet high, and its majestic momentum is breathtaking!
Though its surface is now covered in cracks and scars from the passage of time, its original grandeur and splendor remain undimmed. This gate is not only intricately carved with cloud patterns, but also adorned with images of birds, beasts, and the myriad forms of heaven and earth. Most striking are the phoenix and dragon soaring at the highest point of the gate. They appear so lifelike, as if ready to take flight or soar into the clouds.
Above the door lintel hangs a dilapidated plaque. Though weathered by wind and rain, the characters "Nantian" (Southern Sky) can still be vaguely discerned. However, the character "Men" (Gate) is mostly missing, with only a dot and a horizontal stroke remaining, creating a sense of incomplete beauty.
As the incantation was uttered, the South Heavenly Gate suddenly lit up with a shimmering, ethereal light, like a thin layer of mist, making the entire portal seem dreamlike and ethereal. Through this shimmering light, a corner of the gate could be vaguely seen: a ruined wall, revealing the vicissitudes of time.
As the gate gradually opened, everyone began to enter in an orderly fashion, following the predetermined order. As the foremost of the emerging factions, the Emei Sect held an unparalleled position, ranking only behind the Kunlun Sect, the rulers of the Southern Heavenly Gate. Su Rui and the other two followed closely behind the Emei Sect, entering the Southern Heavenly Gate together.
When Su Rui entered the portal with his sword, he was surprised to find a massive palace shrouded in a hazy mist. Through the gaps in the mist, he could vaguely see a huge jade road leading straight to the sky, and at the top of the sky seemed to be a wide square.
Numerous branching paths extend from both sides of the jade staircase, interconnecting to form layer upon layer of cloud terraces. These terraces are dotted with the ruins of palaces, and celestial herbs and trees can be seen everywhere, layer upon layer, on an extremely grand scale. From this, one can imagine how prosperous this place must have been when it was still intact!
Su Rui stood in the center of the Jade Avenue, gazing upwards, a sense of awe welled up in his heart. He suddenly realized that this vast celestial ruin resembled a giant, lush, divine tree. The Jade Avenue stretched straight toward the sky like a thick trunk, while the tiered palace ruins on either side spread out like luxuriant branches and leaves.
"Could this be the legendary Jianmu?" Su Rui wondered. Legend has it that there exists a magical tree called Jianmu, towering into the clouds. It's believed to be a gateway connecting the human world and the immortal realm. While it's unclear whether Jianmu truly is the gateway between the two realms, the scene before him gave him the illusion of being before the ancient "Jianmu."
At this moment, Xiaotu's voice suddenly rang out from his Niwan Palace: "This is the Heavenly Palace that the Lord of Heaven meticulously built back then, using the only remaining Jianmu tree in the world and the combined power of all the immortals! Above this Heavenly Palace, there are 365 magnificent Great Palaces, dotted across the sky like stars, specifically designed to house the 365 true gods. In addition, there are countless Small Palaces, home to numerous auxiliary gods and lesser deities."
