Chapter 66 Five Poison Gu

After the two of them agreed, Su Rui followed Hu Mei'e towards Izumo Cave.

Before leaving, Su Rui did not forget to put the bear's huge body into the small cloth bag he carried with him.

This small cloth bag was found on the corpse of a Taoist who had practiced the Soul Control Technique and specialized in wielding tigers. Inside was a gourd of Black Tiger Evil, two broken flagpoles, a few drops of Tiger God's black blood, and several pieces of ore of unknown metal! Su Rui only remembered the existence of this small cloth bag when he wanted to eat a bite of bear paw.

After the bear's corpse was taken care of, Hu Mei'e set up a beam of emerald green light and flew slowly in front of her ten feet above the ground, while Su Rui was still sitting on the tiger's shoulder and running wildly behind.

The tiger has strong explosive power but poor endurance. Although it could barely keep up with Hu Mei'e's deliberately slowed-down pace, it was already exhausted and out of breath after running less than a few kilometers.

Fearing that Su Rui would kill him, the tiger didn't dare to rest, only panting as it hung behind Hu Mei'e. Its speed decreased as it approached the end. Fortunately, it managed to reach its destination—Izumo Cave.

Su Rui misheard at first and thought Hu Mei'e was talking about "Izumo Cave". Only when he arrived did he realize that it was a settlement of mountain people.

When the villagers in the settlement saw Hu Mei'e's escaping light, they immediately gathered around her, each of them respectfully and docilely bowing to her and saying, "Greetings, Master of the Cave!"

Hu Mei'e's beautiful face immediately turned serious. She waved her sleeves and said to the gathered villagers, "I have a friend today. If you have anything to say, we can talk later. Everyone, disperse!"

The mountain people bowed and went about their business.

Su Rui followed her, passing through various stilt houses, tree houses, and tree holes, until they came to a cave carved out of the rock wall, and stopped.

The main entrance to this cave is a stone gate. The entrance is wide enough for three people to enter side by side. It is nine feet high. Various exquisite reliefs are engraved on the stone gate, and its weight is probably no less than a thousand pounds.

Su Rui stared at the relief on the stone gate for a few seconds, and only saw a flying fairy playing with a dragon and a phoenix. He didn't understand whether there was any other meaning.

Hu Mei'e injected a stream of true energy into the stone gate, and the stone gate rose up with a rumble. Su Rui followed behind and took a look. He saw that the cave was full of green, giving people a weird atmosphere.

Yes, it’s the atmosphere of those Hong Kong horror movies on Earth.

"Little boy, this is my aunt's Chuyun Cave, which is usually used to raise poisonous insects. You must follow closely and don't go the wrong way, otherwise the insects in my aunt's house will eat people." Hu Mei'e gave some instructions in front of the cave door, and then took Su Rui in.

The two first passed through a corridor about seven feet long. The lighting on both sides of the corridor was not ordinary oil lamps, but a kind of insect with its belly held up. The belly of the insect was the size of an egg. The green light that Su Rui saw at the door came from its belly. This thing was a bit like a large firefly.

After passing the corridor, there is a slightly larger space. It should have been a cave originally, but several areas were artificially excavated. In the middle of these areas, you can see huge barbed stalagmites of various colors. Going further in, you can faintly hear the sound of gurgling water.

Hu Mei'e led Su Rui to a man-made area at the outermost edge of the cavern. Here, there were stone tables, stone benches, and cloud beds, covered with a cloth mat infused with grass seeds, which made sitting less chilly. A goose-egg-sized night-shining pearl hung on the wall, casting a gentle white light. The atmosphere felt more homely than in the corridor. This must have been the hall Hu Mei'e used to entertain guests.

After the two of them sat down in order, Su Rui noticed that poisonous creatures such as centipedes, scorpions, green snakes, and geckos were passing by the area from time to time. However, these poisonous creatures seemed to sense Su Rui's aura and just slipped past in a hurry. None of them dared to approach him.

Hu Mei'e, seeing his young age, had brought him here with ill intentions. Seeing her own little darling not even dare to come within an inch of him, she couldn't help but marvel at it. She thought Su Rui must be carrying a treasure. As a close neighbor of Chuyundong, Heshan Dao had brought her into contact with many people. While their techniques were eerie and powerful, they weren't effective against Gu worms, and certainly didn't have the power to deter them.

"Little boy, don't you want to learn how to refine Gu? I have a Gu technique for refining the Five Poisons. It's not rare, but it's perfect for beginners. I can teach you how to raise Gu insects right now. Once you help me refine the Black Silk, I'll teach you the spells for refining the Gu insects. How do you do it?"

Hu Mei'e spoke to Su Rui in a soft voice with charming eyes.

"Aunt is willing to teach me a little first, that's great!" It was like a normal transaction. The first person to show sincerity was naturally the best, and Su Rui didn't see anything wrong with it. There was no gratitude, of course. It was just a fair trade, each taking what they needed. As for what kind of Gu technique he could be taught, he already had an idea in mind. They were just getting acquainted, so getting some basic techniques was good enough. If the other party offered a core technique in exchange, then he would really have to consider what was going on.

Seeing that Su Rui agreed, Hu Mei'e took Su Rui to another artificially excavated area not far away.

This area was more than three times larger than the reception area, and had five small compartments separated by stalagmite slabs, each filled with numerous earthenware jars. Some of the jars were sealed with animal skins, while most were left uncovered, and insects would occasionally dart in and out of the pile.

Hu Mei'e took an empty clay pot and took Su Rui to walk around the five small compartments. She caught one centipede, one green snake, one scorpion, one gecko and one toad and put them into the clay pot.

Su Rui watched her catching poisonous insects from behind and found that it was as easy as picking up stones in her hands. These poisonous insects didn't dare to move at all in her hands. It was like they were meeting their subjects or their king. Even their cries were much lower.

Hu Mei'e led Su Rui back to the reception area and pulled him to her side, teaching him how to chant the incantation, how to use his own blood to stimulate the Gu worms to devour each other, and how to seal the jars to cultivate the Gu. As Su Rui leaned against her side, he felt the soft, warm fragrance of jade against his touch, and the fragrant aroma that filled his nose was also full of fragrance, which made his mind wander. Fortunately, he knew the importance of urgency and immediately took a deep breath, calming his wandering mind. He memorized the incantations and techniques Hu Mei'e taught him with even more attention than he had in high school lectures.

Probably because it was an entry-level skill, Su Rui did not feel that this method of raising insects was complicated. He did not even use the small map, but memorized it himself.

After teaching the method of raising Gu, Hu Mei'e directly gave the earthen jar to Su Rui. Su Rui did not hesitate to put it into the space of the small cloth bag.

Then Hu Mei'e took him out of the cave.

Outside the cave, some mountain folk were already waiting, escorting a large wild boar with its limbs tied up. They seemed to have been waiting for a while. When they saw Hu Mei'e, they immediately bowed and said, "Master, this is today's blood meal!"
