Chapter 7 The First Sword

Su Rui took the opportunity to look around the courtyard in front of him.

The courtyard of Captain Wu's house is not a wealthy one, but it is quite spacious. Since it is separated from the adjacent courtyard by a stream, the view is very broad.

The houses nearby basically have a one-living room and two-wing rooms. Captain Wu's house is the same, except that there is a tall and peculiar yellow horn tree next to the well in front of the east wing.

Autumn has already arrived. The leaves on the yellow horn tree have turned yellow, and a few dead leaves are scattered on the dirt in the yard.

The empty yard and the dead leaves on the old trees made Su Rui feel a little lonely.

The front of the west wing door is full of sunflowers. Although the flowers are yellowish, they look full of vitality and make people feel happy.

One yard contains two artistic conceptions, which makes Su Rui marvel.

Just as Su Rui stepped onto the stone path that divided the yard into two different worlds, he saw a little girl of the same age as him running out of the hall door while shouting "Daddy".

But when she saw Su Rui, she slowed down and started walking. When she got to the two of them, she first called out "Daddy" obediently, then looked at Su Rui and asked curiously, "Daddy, who is this brother?"

Su Rui's face darkened. He was indeed a little shorter than the girl now, but he was not necessarily her younger brother!

Captain Wu didn't pay attention to these details. He squatted down, touched the girl's hair, gently brushed off the dust on her clothes, and said in a deep voice, "This is Su Qinghe, the second son of the county magistrate. He will soon be your junior apprentice!"

Su Rui was too tired to complain. The father and daughter had decided to treat him as their younger brother today!

"Erlang, this is my daughter, Wu Qianqian!"

After introducing Su Rui, Captain Wu took the girl's hand and introduced her to Su Rui.

"Wu Da, why don't you invite the young master of the county magistrate's family into the house?"

At this moment, an old woman with half-white hair came out, her waist slightly bent, as if she could no longer stand up straight. Behind her was a little boy with a bruised face and nose. The boy looked a little older than Su Rui, about eleven or twelve years old. His clothes were clean, but they were patched up a lot.

"Mom, Erlang was arranged by the county magistrate to come here to practice martial arts with me. It's a bit late, and Erlang has to go back to the county government office at 10 p.m., so we won't go into the house!" Captain Wu responded in a muffled voice.

"In that case, then you should go and teach him quickly, and teach him carefully! But be careful not to hurt the young man!" the old woman ordered.

"Mom, I know!" Captain Wu nodded and responded in a muffled voice.

"Little Stone, you go too and practice with the young master!" The old woman pulled the little boy behind her out and instructed slowly.

Su Rui had long noticed that Captain Wu's expression changed when he saw the little boy, but he never showed it in front of the old woman.

At this moment, he could no longer hold back and asked sternly, "Xiao Shi, are you in trouble again?"

"Master~" The little boy looked aggrieved and almost shed tears.

"Wu Da, Xiao Shitou's parents died early. As his master, you have to take more responsibility for him!" Seeing this, the old woman pulled the little boy and said.

"Mom, I understand!" Captain Wu suppressed his displeasure once again and responded.

"Young Master, you guys practice first, I won't be an eyesore here!"

The old woman greeted Suri and then went into the house.

At this time, there were only one big and three small ones left in the huge yard.

Captain Wu did not continue to embarrass the boy named Xiao Shitou, but led the three of them to the yellow horn tree and began to teach Su Rui martial arts.
