In order to allow Chi Jiao and the little fox demon to enjoy the benefits of Qingcheng Sect, Su Rui asked their opinions. After getting their agreement, he took them straight to the Internal Affairs Hall.
The Qingcheng Sect's outer disciple registration process was simple. Simply leaving their names and a wisp of their aura, Chi Jiao and the little fox demon received their outer disciple identification plaques. The biggest difference between these outer disciples and Su Rui's true disciples was the lack of soul lanterns, clearly signaling the sect's lack of concern for their lives.
The sect's admission review for outer disciples is very easy, as long as they are not extremely evil people.
Correspondingly, the sect also has strict restrictions on outer disciples: outer disciples cannot enter the sect's core precinct, the Xuanmiao Temple, at will, unless summoned by the sect leader or the elders in charge of the various halls. Of course, there is an unwritten exception: entering the Xuanmiao Temple accompanied by a true disciple or inner disciple. However, if an outer disciple violates the rules, the accompanying true disciple or inner disciple will be held responsible. Obviously, this true disciple or inner disciple is acting as a guarantor!
After Chi Jiao and the little fox demon obtained the status of outer disciples, they followed Su Rui to the Sutra Library again.
When I entered the sect this time, the old Taoist "senior brother" was still sleeping soundly.
However, he once again used his mysterious Taoist method to remind them: "Outer disciples can only browse the collection on the first floor of the Sutra Library. True disciples have unlimited access to the collection except for the top floor. However, whether outer disciples or true disciples, no one may destroy the treasures in the pavilion, otherwise they will be expelled from the sect and their skills will be confiscated!"
Su Rui held the little fox demon and the red dragon and bowed to the old Taoist priest to show that he understood. Then he slowly walked into the first floor of the Sutra Library.
The Sutra Library on this floor has five huge bookshelves filled with various scrolls and bamboo slips, which are divided into different types according to the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches such as Jia, Yi, Bing, and Ding.
Su Rui walked around the bookshelf and found that most of the books here were miscellaneous books, including top martial arts secrets, anecdotes, basic spells, essays on mountains and rivers, various strange skills and tricks, investigations into gods, divinations, illustrations of animals and plants, Buddhist and Taoist magic classics, etc. It can be said that there is everything.
It can be said that most of the books are the type of books that Su Rui likes to read, which makes Su Rui very excited and feels like he is back in the university library. When he was in college, except for the eve of exams, the books he read the rest of the time were just miscellaneous books of this type.
However, Su Rui also keenly felt that these books did not contain a complete set of skills or techniques, and even the teacher's notes that Zhang Beiyang mentioned were not there!
So, he asked Chi Jiao to stay with the little fox demon on the first floor of the Sutra Library, and walked alone towards the door leading to the second floor.
The portal to the second floor was set with a powerful restriction. Su Rui bumped into it and tried to break through the restriction to see if he could enter the portal, but the restriction bounced back and he was almost injured internally.
"I wonder if attacking with sword energy will cause the sword energy to bounce back?" Su Rui thought to himself. But he didn't dare to try it. He obediently followed the instructions written on the wall with a sharp sword. He took out his identity card, injected a wisp of Shangqing Zhenqi, held the card in front of him, and walked into the door.
As if passing through a layer of transparent water curtain, Su Rui felt that his whole body was scanned. After a chill, he finally broke through the restriction and saw the wooden stairs leading to the second floor.
The space on the second floor is as large as that on the first floor, but it appears more spacious because it only has three bookshelves.
What surprised Su Rui was that there were people on the second floor of the Sutra Repository. There were four people in total: a short, quiet-looking girl, an eight or nine-year-old boy with two pigtails, and two young men. One looked honest and kind, while the other had a paunchy belly and a slightly upturned mouth, a look that indicated a blessed aura.
Among them, a girl and a boy were sitting alone, one in the south and the other in the north. The girl was reading quietly, and the boy had a bamboo scroll in front of him. He frowned and looked like he was thinking hard, as if he had encountered some difficult problem. The two young men were sitting side by side. The honest one was reading a book, and the fat one was meditating with his eyes closed.
After hearing Su Rui's footsteps, several people looked up. Seeing that Su Rui was a stranger, they looked at him with a scrutinizing look.
The young girl was closer to the entrance to the second floor. After sizing up Su Rui, she asked, "Junior brother, are you a new inner sect disciple?"
Su Rui shook his head and said, "True disciple!"
When the girl heard this, her beautiful eyes flickered and she asked, "What's your name, Junior Brother?"
Su Rui bowed and responded, "Su Qinghe, greetings to Senior Sister and all the brothers!"
"My name is Li Yunmei, and I'm currently working in the library. If you need me, you can call me anytime!" The girl replied softly.
The honest-looking young man nodded to him in a friendly manner and whispered two words: "Xue Teng!"
The fat young man smiled and said, "My name is Huang Guo!"
Only the boy showed an angry look, with a cold look in his eyes and a heavy snort at him.
"I may have to trouble you in the future, Senior Sister!" Su Rui smiled at the "librarian" girl.
He then clasped his fists towards the two young brothers and said, "Greetings, Senior Brother Xue and Senior Brother Huang!"
Then he just ignored that weird little brat and didn't even look at him.
Afterwards, everyone quieted down, returning to the state they were in before Su Rui came up. Su Rui, as usual, quickly scanned each bookshelf and discovered that the books on the second floor were mostly Taoist secrets, with a fair share of books on swordsmanship, magic, alchemy, and weapon forging. The handwritten notes left by the teachers Zhang Beiyang mentioned were surprisingly on this floor, occupying one shelf.
