Chapter 120 Going up the mountain

On the second day, Chi Jiao held Su Rui, who was holding the little fox demon, in one hand and Chen Ting, a Zhushan believer, in the other, and left Tongqu County with the escape light.

After flying intermittently for three days and three nights, we finally arrived at a small town at the foot of Qingcheng Mountain in the early morning of the fourth day.

Qingcheng Mountain, known as "the most secluded place in the world," is said to boast 108 magnificent scenic spots, a beloved destination for scholars and poets. The mountain is dotted with temples and palaces, and it's said that Zhang Daoling, the Tianshi, lived in seclusion and ascended to heaven in Qingcheng Mountain in his later years. Furthermore, Yin Changsheng, an Eastern Han Dynasty immortal known as one of the "Eight Immortals of Shu," also practiced Taoism in Qingcheng Mountain, ultimately achieving immortality. Consequently, during the early dynasties, Qingcheng Mountain was once known as the "Metropolis of the Immortals."

However, there is only one Taoist sect on Qingcheng Mountain, the Qingshan Sect. Most of the Taoist temples on the front mountain that accept incense and offerings are presided over by the outer disciples of the Qingshan Sect, and the rest are basically run by senior Taoist believers, and cannot be considered Taoist sects.

It is precisely because Qingcheng Mountain has so many magnificent palaces and temples that the small town at the foot of the mountain is particularly prosperous. It is no exaggeration to say that it is bustling with tourists and carriages and horses.

Su Rui, holding the little fox demon, walked into the town with Chi Jiao and Chen Ting, looking exhausted.

He found an inn that looked the most lively, ordered a table full of food, and had a full meal. Then he asked the waiter to prepare a suite with a yard for them, washed, changed his clothes, and tidied himself up.

Only then did the red dragon lead them to escape towards the Golden Whip Cliff at the top of Qingcheng Mountain.

Flying in the air, Su Rui looked at the emerald green mountains below his feet and the palaces and temples hidden in the unexpected corners of the mountains through the black and red translucent light, and felt a little excited in his heart.

After many twists and turns and taking many detours, he finally arrived at the Qingcheng Sect.

Following the instructions given to him by True Man Yu'e, he landed on the edge of a high rocky peak.

Legend has it that Golden Whip Cliff was formed from a divine whip cast down by an ancient deity. Whenever the sun shines brightly, from afar, you can see two vertical and one horizontal golden whips. Beyond Golden Whip Cliff lies a vast expanse of cliffs. From afar, you can see mountains upon mountains, their heights jagged and overlapping, with cliffs thousands of feet high and isolated. Stretching for ten miles, lush vines and old trees reach into the dusk, a scene that evokes awe at the wonders of nature.

Further inward from the Golden Whip Cliff, there is a large sunken cave with a ravine hundreds of feet deep.

The main gate of the Qingcheng Sect is located in that large cave.

Just as Su Rui was daydreaming at the big cave, three sword lights flew out from the cave and fell towards the rock layer where Su Rui and the others were.

After the sword light faded, three figures, two men and one woman, were revealed. The young man standing in the middle seemed to be the leader of the three. He first took a step towards Su Rui and the others.

"This is the main gate of the Qingshan Sect. What brings you here, benefactors?"

He was tall, with sword-like eyebrows and star-like eyes, and his face was as sharp as a knife with clear edges and corners. Just as he walked out, he exuded the aura of a swordsman.

Su Rui went to meet him, clasped his fists and bowed, saying, "How are you, Senior Brother? I'm here to become your disciple. May I ask if Master Yu'e is within?"

"Master Yu'e is always traveling outside and is not in the sect at this moment!"

These words were spoken by the woman following the man. She was about sixteen or seventeen years old, about six feet (1.6 meters) tall, with a rosy, tender face that was very pleasing. Her voice was soft and tender with a hint of a Yizhou accent.

"Uh... I knew it!" Su Rui murmured in response, and then he had to take out the synchronization card given to him by Master Yu'e, input a stream of true energy into it, and began to call Master Yu'e.

It was unknown what True Man Yu'e was busy with. Su Rui called out to him for a long time in front of the three future senior brothers and sisters of Qingcheng Sect, but he didn't respond.

Just as he was sweating with anxiety and preparing to explain to the three future senior brothers and sisters of Qingcheng Sect in front of him, there was finally a response from the simultaneous voice card.

"Boy, what do you want from me?" True Man Yu'e seemed very busy, and the crackling sound of fighting could be heard from the other side.

"Master, I have found the whereabouts of Elder Tiantong. Does your previous promise still count?" Su Rui asked anxiously.

"Hey... count! Count!! Tell me where he is?" True Man Yu'e responded with joy.

"Old Man Tiantong is in the Yue'er Cave in West Kunlun!"

Su Rui told Shi Yi about the whereabouts of Elder Tiantong, and then hurriedly asked, "Master, am I now your disciple?"

"Okay! I'm a Taoist priest and I'm committed to it. Once I find Elder Tiantong and get the Snow Soul Pearl, I'll bring you back to Qingcheng Mountain to be included in the list of disciples!" True Man Yu'e responded affirmatively.

"Master...um, Master, I've already arrived at Qingcheng Sect!" Su Rui said embarrassedly.

"That's even better. It saves me from running all the way to pick you up! Just find a disciple at the mountain gate and I'll ask him to arrange it for you!" True Man Yu'e didn't think there was anything wrong with doing this and responded to Su Rui.

Upon hearing this, Su Rui handed the synchronized voice card in his hand to the young man standing in the middle, and said softly, "Brother, please tell Master Yu'e!"

The young man watched Su Rui's communication with Master Yu'e the entire time. Seeing his actions, he immediately smiled silently and took the synchronization card from Su Rui's hand: "Disciple Yuan Ning, Master Yu'e, please give me your instructions!"

"Yuan Ning, you are here too. It just so happens that you are also a true disciple. I will leave this new disciple of mine to you for arrangement!" This senior brother named Yuan Ning seems to be very famous in the Qingcheng Sect. When True Man Yu'e heard his name, he gave the instructions in a very familiar tone.

"Disciple obeys the order!" Yuan Ning responded. He wanted to ask a few more questions, but the connection with Tongshengpai had been cut off.

Yuan Ning handed the synchronized voice card back to Su Rui with some reluctance and asked, "Junior brother, what's your name?"

"My name is Su Qinghe, Brother Yuan, you can just call me Qinghe!" Su Rui said respectfully.

"Who are these two?" Yuan Ning asked again.

"This Miss Chi Jiao is my sworn sister! This is Chen Ting from the Zhushan Sect... He was robbed on the way and was captured alive by me. When he learned that my Qingcheng Sect was also going to participate in the Hundred Years Sword Fight, he was brought here as a prisoner!" Su Rui introduced.

Chi Jiao smiled brightly as Su Rui introduced him. For some reason, Chi Jiao became a little nervous after Su Rui sensed the appearance of Yuan Ning and the other two.

Chen Ting, a member of the Zhushan sect, showed a hint of fear when he heard Yuan Ning's name. After hearing Su Rui's introduction, he immediately shrank his neck and said nervously, "I... I am Chen Zhen of the Zhushan sect. I just borrowed my brother Chen Ting's name..."

Su Rui was speechless after hearing this. This guy was hiding it very well. If he hadn't met Yuan Ning today, he would probably have continued to hide it.

"Heh, Chen Ting actually has such a younger brother?" Yuan Ning looked at Chen Zhen with some disdain.

Chen Zhen rubbed his fingers together, lowered his head, and dared not respond. It was obvious that he was very afraid of Yuan Ning.

This made Su Rui curious. Is Yuan Ning so famous that even this Zhushan Sect disciple dared not refute him?

"Junior Brother Su, let's go into the mountains!"

As he spoke, Yuan Ning raised his sword and flew into the direction of the big cave.
