Chapter 290: Completion of Foundation Building

Taoist foundation-building methods are varied and bizarre, but within the Qingcheng Sect, there exists a mainstream foundation-building method praised by the Sutra Library as the "Spiritual Condensation Method of Swallowing Heaven and Earth"! However, Su Rui ingeniously compares it to the "Liquid Condensation Method"!

Before establishing a foundation, the zhenqi and gansha forces within a person typically appear in a cloud-like form. Simply put, the foundation-building process involves gathering the body's zhenqi and gansha forces within the dantian, condensing them into a liquid state, thus forming a true qi sea. Next, carefully selected Taoist techniques, formations, and swordsmanship are imprinted upon this qi sea. This is what is known as foundation-building.

Once the foundation is successfully established, it can drive the Qi Sea to produce a Qi Sea vortex, and inject the practitioner's essence, energy and spirit into it, thus condensing the golden elixir. When the golden elixir is condensed, it means that the practitioner has entered the realm of Dancheng.

Because each person's cultivation of Daoist methods, formations, and swordsmanship differs, the length of time required for the foundation-building phase and the quality of the resulting golden elixir will vary greatly. This is like building a house: some choose to use reinforced concrete for the foundation and frame, adding glass curtain walls for cladding; while others might use yellow mud and wood for the foundation and frame, then top it off with blue bricks and black tiles. Consequently, the time required for construction, as well as the quality and style of the resulting house, will naturally differ significantly.

During the foundation-building period, practitioners are strictly prohibited from using their true qi and sha power, and must therefore devote themselves completely to closed-door cultivation. With this in mind, Su Rui decided without hesitation to begin his foundation-building work in front of the Wordless Heavenly Book on the third floor of the Sutra Repository. This location is the sect's core, and with the imposing bronze-armored mechanical figures and wooden warriors behind him providing protection, he could be assured of no one's presence during this period.

Su Rui took a deep breath, calmed himself, and focused his attention. After adjusting his state, he began to draw the pure Qi and the Gangsha power from the acupuncture points throughout his body back into his Dantian. However, because the Qi and the Tiangang Disha were too vast, his Dantian could not fully accommodate them at first. He had to continuously condense the Qi and Gangsha power until they condensed into a liquid.

For ordinary wild demon cultivators, they might rely solely on their willpower to complete the process of condensing their true qi and Gangsha energy. Fortunately, the Qingcheng Sect possesses a unique, inherited method: connecting a "Spirit Gathering Formation" within the Dantian. This "Spirit Gathering Formation" allows for better gathering and control of true qi and Gangsha energy.

Without hesitation, Su Rui created eighty-one "Spirit Gathering Arrays" within his Dantian, reaching the limit of his Dantian's capacity. As the "Spirit Gathering Arrays" activated, the first drop of liquid Qi quickly condensed within Su Rui's Dantian. With the first drop, the second, the third, and so on would naturally follow...

Su Rui continued to practice his technique, constantly condensing more liquid Qi. Each drop of liquid Qi contained immense energy, and this energy would become the key to his advancement. As time passed, more and more liquid Qi gathered in his Dantian, forming a small lake.

Throughout this process, Suri maintained a high level of focus and patience. He knew there were no shortcuts to spiritual practice; only through diligent effort could progress be achieved. He concentrated on feeling the flow of energy within his body, carefully guiding it along the correct path.

Gradually, Su Rui's Dantian was filled with liquid Qi, and the originally empty Dantian now became full and plump. He could feel his strength steadily improving, and all this was due to his unremitting efforts and the unique cultivation method of Qingcheng Sect.

Three days later, all the Qi and Gangsha power in Su Rui's body finally condensed into liquid form, and opened up a vast blue ocean inside his Dantian. This ocean was deep and mysterious, as if it contained endless power.

After completing this step, Su Rui gently wiped away the ineffective Soul Formation. Next, he would use the power of Gangsha as ink to leave a carefully selected imprint of Taoism, formations, and swordsmanship in this sea of energy.

In terms of Taoism, Su Rui decided to focus on the "Qingcheng Shangqing Heart Method Secret Scroll," supplemented by the "Five Elements Escape Technique." The heart method described in this scroll is profound and unfathomable, requiring extremely high levels of both the practitioner's state of mind and understanding. The "Five Elements Escape Technique," on the other hand, is a flexible and versatile escape technique that will allow him to wield greater ease in combat.

As for the formation, Su Rui didn't spend too much time searching the Sutra Library for other formations. He planned to directly imprint the "Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Formation" he had obtained from the Langya Immortal Mansion. This formation was incredibly powerful. Once deployed, it could obscure the sky and the sun, extinguishing the stars.

As for swordsmanship, there seemed to be no better choice besides the Xiantian Gengjin Chilei Sword Technique. This sword technique was sharp and fierce, which matched Su Rui's personality, and combined with the magic weapon in his hand, it could unleash tremendous power.

Of course, there are some methods such as the "Original Mirage Sutra" that belong to the external alchemy path and cannot be directly imprinted in the Dantian Qi Sea. Or those side door inheritances are not within Su Rui's consideration at all.

After completing these preparations, Su Rui took a deep breath and began to concentrate on imprinting the selected Taoism, formation, and swordsmanship into his Qi Sea. Each imprint represented his understanding and perception of the essence of martial arts, and was also the key to his future breakthrough in cultivation.

More than twenty days passed in a flash.

Su Rui's tightly closed eyes slowly opened. At this moment, his originally dark and deep eyes became bright and lively, occasionally flashing with various strange lights. He looked radiant and energetic.
