Chapter 35
"Keep memorizing, don't get off the bus today if you can't memorize it."
Cheng Jiamo was stunned by the question. She didn't expect He Qingzhao to ask such a question, and for a moment she couldn't tell if he was joking or serious.
But no matter which one it is, it shouldn't be done, because either way, it carries the suspicion of jealousy.
The word "jealousy" doesn't really fit He Qingzhao at all.
Cheng Jiamo looked at He Qingzhao's face, and as she looked, she suddenly laughed, her eyes crinkling into crescents, making her look charming and beautiful.
He Qingzhao's thoughts were seen through, and he suddenly grabbed the back of her head and bit her lip: "Are you laughing at me for being petty?"
Cheng Jiamo shook her head: "No, I just feel happy."
He Qingzhao raised an eyebrow: "Happy?"
Cheng Jiamo hugged his neck and said with a smile, "You are my first boyfriend, and so far, my only one."
He Qingzhao: "So far?"
Cheng Jiamo retorted, embarrassed and annoyed, "You certainly know how to get to the point!"
She emphasized "first" and "only", but he noticed "so far".
He Qingzhao rubbed his thumb against her lips: "Explain, what do you mean by 'so far'?"
Cheng Jiamo slapped his hand away: "Who can say for sure what will happen in the future? If we break up, you can't stay single forever, and neither can I."
He Qingzhao: "..."
After a moment of silence, he released her hand, ruffled her hair, and ultimately said nothing.
The young girl is right. Who can predict what will happen in the future? Even he himself can't guarantee how long his feelings for her will last, let alone her.
Although the girl is young, she is actually very rational and has a calmness and clarity beyond her years. She can figure out many things on her own without him having to say them.
He wanted to say something nice to coax her, but looking into her clear, bright eyes, he couldn't bring himself to say it.
He Qingzhao started the car and drove in silence.
He wasn't a talkative person, and when he didn't want to talk, he appeared quite aloof.
Cheng Jiamo glanced at him a few times, and seeing his indifferent expression, she mustered up her courage and asked, "Is it just the two of us for dinner tonight?"
He Qingzhao: "Who would you like to have?"
Cheng Jiamo glared at him: "Pull over to the side of the road, I'm getting out."
He Qingzhao drove even faster instead: "I'm having dinner with my girlfriend, how could I invite anyone else?" He explained with a smile, "The last time I took you to dinner with Zhong Qi and the others was because we had been apart for more than half a month. I was afraid we would become estranged."
It's not that I'm afraid of becoming unfamiliar with things; it's that I am indeed unfamiliar with them.
More than half a month had passed since they last met, and Cheng Jiamo had not contacted him once, not even by phone or text.
Sometimes he wondered if this girl really didn't understand how boyfriends and girlfriends should interact, or if she was deliberately trying to hook him.
He might have thought about it, but he couldn't very well ask directly.
Cheng Jiamo didn't contact him, and he was too embarrassed to contact her first, so they just dragged it out until he returned to Beijing.
When he returned, Cheng Jiamo still didn't contact him, so he reluctantly took the initiative to call her. To his surprise, she said she didn't want to be his girlfriend anymore. Only then did he realize that the girl wasn't trying to hook him; she genuinely wanted to cut ties with him.
He panicked, so when he met her at the aviation university, he forcefully took her away despite her wishes, and even took her with him when he went to see his friends at night.
Thinking about Cheng Jiamo's attitude, He Qingzhao felt very uncomfortable and complained, "Don't you consider me your boyfriend?"
Cheng Jiamo looked at him: "Why do you ask that?"
If she didn't consider him her boyfriend, would she sleep in the same bed with him? Would she let him touch her however he wanted?
He Qingzhao didn't explain. He couldn't bring himself to say something sarcastic like, "If you consider me your boyfriend, why don't you call or text me?" It would make him seem like he was obsessed with me.
Cheng Jiamo didn't think much of it, but she felt that He Qingzhao's emotions were unpredictable, and perhaps all bosses were like that.
After dinner, He Qingzhao wanted Cheng Jiamo to stay.
Cheng Jiamo disagreed and insisted on returning to school.
On the way back, He Qingzhao suggested again, "Don't stay at school anymore. I'll buy an apartment near your school so we won't be disturbed and it'll be quieter. There are too many people in the dorms, and it's hard to sleep peacefully."
Cheng Jiamo turned to look at him: "Didn't you promise me you'd stay here for the rest of the semester?"
He Qingzhao coughed: "I'm doing this for your sleep."
Cheng Jiamo: "I slept quite well in the dormitory. I'm used to living in a group. Suddenly being moved to an unfamiliar place might be something I'm not used to."
He Qingzhao really wanted to use force, but having learned from Tang Jingyao's example, he could only suppress his violent thoughts.
Upon arriving at the school, Cheng Jiamo leaned over and kissed He Qingzhao before getting out of the car, lightly touching the corner of his lips.
Just as she was about to back away, He Qingzhao swiftly grabbed her head and fiercely kissed her lips.
He kissed her urgently and fiercely, ravaging her mouth.
Cheng Jiamo, panting, pushed him away: "I should go back."
He Qingzhao pressed his forehead against hers, breathing heavily: "I really want to do it hard in the car..."
He swallowed his profanity again and roughly ruffled her hair.
"Hurry up."
If she doesn't leave soon, he really won't be able to hold back anymore.
Cheng Jiamo watched his Adam's apple bob, turned her head, bit it lightly, and then quickly pushed open the car door and got out.
He Qingzhao looked at her, panting heavily, his eyes burning with undisguised lust.
-
For the next two days, He Qingzhao did not ask Cheng Jiamo out to dinner again, as he was not free every night.
On Thursday night, he hosted a dinner for several business partners from the port area. On Friday night, he was invited to a rather grand banquet. By the time he finished, it was already very late, and he couldn't possibly come to M University to see Cheng Jiamo.
This is also why he wanted Cheng Jiamo to live with him. If they lived together, he could see her no matter how late he got home, and even if they didn't do anything, just a hug would make him feel good.
Unlike now, he can only be with her on Saturdays and Sundays. During the week, he rarely sees her, and if he has a drinking party in the evening, he won't see her at all.
He's currently very interested in her, and at night, when everything is quiet, he misses her terribly.
After holding back for two days, He Qingzhao drove to pick up Cheng Jiamo early Saturday morning.
Cheng Jiamo was about to take her CET-4 exam and was walking towards the library with her practice books when she received a phone call. She then turned around and headed towards the school gate.
Seeing the Level 4 practice questions in her arms, He Qingzhao chuckled with an ambiguous meaning.
Cheng Jiamo looked at him suspiciously: "What are you laughing at?"
He Qingzhao ruffled her hair: "Can you recite Shakespeare's Sonnet No. 18?"
This poem is a classic and has been translated into Chinese by several well-known scholars. Cheng Jiamo could recite it by heart when she was in high school.
But out of caution, when He Qingzhao suddenly asked, she thought for a moment and silently recited two lines in her mind to make sure she could remember them before smiling and replying, "Yes, I can remember them."
He Qingzhao said, "In English."
Cheng Jiamo nodded again: "Yes."
He Qingzhao smiled suddenly: "Recite it for me in a bit."
Cheng Jiamo didn't think much of it, assuming that He Qingzhao just wanted to test her memorization ability.
However, He Qingzhao drove the car into a quiet garden and parked it under a row of lush poplar trees.
After turning off the engine, He Qingzhao unbuckled both seatbelts, lifted Cheng Jiamo onto her lap, and turned her around to face her, letting her lie on the steering wheel.
"What are you doing?" Cheng Jiamo asked in a panic.
He Qingzhao said, "I'll kiss you."
Cheng Jiamo: "..."
How could he kiss her when her back was to him?
He Qingzhao: "Memorize it."
Cheng Jiamo: "Shall Ipare... um..."
She had only memorized three words when she suddenly bit her lip.
He Qingzhao slammed his thumb down hard: "Keep memorizing, don't get off the bus today if you can't memorize it."
After saying that, he bit his pink lips and gently pulled them.
Cheng Jiamo continued reciting, trembling: "Shall I parry thee to... Ah!"
He Qingzhao kissed her passionately, sucking on her lips. Cheng Jiamo's body went weak from his kisses, her legs trembled, and she sat down, eliciting a muffled groan from He Qingzhao.
Cheng Jiamo only realized what she had sat down after she sat down. It was too late to get up, and He Qingzhao grabbed her waist and pressed her down firmly.
He Qingzhao whispered in her ear, close to her neck, "Keep reciting."
Cheng Jiamo had no mind to memorize the poem; she simply couldn't.
He Qingzhao threatened her: "If you can't recite the agreement, it's null and void. I'll take it in the car."
