Chapter 48
◎He Qingzhao, let's break up◎
Cheng Jiamo was only sad for a short while before she quickly adjusted her emotions. She had experienced too many sad things, and apart from life and death, nothing else mattered to her.
She wiped the water off her hands on her trouser leg, stood up, ran behind He Qingzhao, leaned on his back, and covered his eyes with her hands.
Guess who I am?
He Qingzhao smiled and said with a doting tone, "Let me guess which little kitten it is?"
Cheng Jiamo opened her mouth and bit his ear, her pearly teeth gently rubbing against his ear cartilage, and then she saw his prominent Adam's apple bobbing up and down.
Cheng Jiamo really liked He Qingzhao's Adam's apple. She found it very alluring and sexy. Every time they made love, she couldn't help but kiss his Adam's apple, and she would even bite it. And when she bit it, He Qingzhao would become even more aggressive, as if he wanted to use all his strength on her.
Seeing his Adam's apple bobbing, Cheng Jiamo wanted to bite him, but as soon as her lips touched his neck, He Qingzhao pulled her into his arms.
"So it's just a little dog that likes to bite." He Qingzhao's lips curled into a roguish smile.
Cheng Jiamo couldn't bite his Adam's apple, so she raised her head to bite his chin. Just as she brought her lips to his, He Qingzhao held the back of her neck and kissed her lips.
Cheng Jiamo closed her eyes and was about to respond when He Qingzhao stepped back.
Cheng Jiamo's mouth was still slightly open, and her dazed eyes held a hint of embarrassment.
He Qingzhao wiped the water from the corner of her mouth with his thumb and said in a low, husky voice, "Don't close your eyes, look at me."
Cheng Jiamo wrapped her arms around his neck, opened her eyes wide and kissed him, even sticking out her tongue to lick his lips.
He Qingzhao sensed the girl's unusual enthusiasm, but instead of being aroused by it, he calmed down.
He knew that Cheng Jiamo must have gone into that room and seen the photos on the wall. The girl was really calm and didn't ask anything. She even took the initiative to be affectionate with him.
Seeing that Cheng Jiamo didn't ask, He Qingzhao didn't plan to ask either. He was waiting for Cheng Jiamo to ask him, or rather, he was waiting for Cheng Jiamo to enter his heart.
Seeing that He Qingzhao did not respond to her kiss, Cheng Jiamo blushed and stepped back, saying aggrievedly, "He Qingzhao, you don't like me anymore."
He Qingzhao laughed: "How could that be? I love you the most, my darling."
Cheng Jiamo found his use of "baby" particularly grating, but she didn't show it and still smiled gently at him.
She got up from his arms, smiled, and said, "How about we go out for dinner tonight?"
He Qingzhao smiled and agreed, "Okay."
He wanted to see how long this girl could endure.
"I want to eat hot pot," Cheng Jiamo said.
He Qingzhao's smile remained gentle and indulgent: "Okay."
Cheng Jiamo went back to her room and changed her clothes. She wore a white mink coat with a fluffy collar, which made her look even more fair and delicate.
She even put on makeup, giving her alluring peach blossom eyes with eyeliner drawn at the corners, slightly upturned. Her originally pink lips were painted with a reddish lipstick, and the full red lips added a touch of mature womanly charm, making her look delicate and charming.
He Qingzhao looked at her as if he were seeing a flower bud about to bloom being forcibly forced open. Suddenly, he didn't want to go out anymore, and he didn't want anyone else to see her in this charming state.
"It's cold, don't go out." He Qingzhao put his arm around her waist and looked down at her.
Cheng Jiamo pouted: "But I've already changed my clothes."
He Qingzhao lowered his head and said in a low voice, "Take it off."
Cheng Jiamo tiptoed to touch his lips, then quickly pulled away, looking at the lipstick mark on his lips, and giggled sweetly.
He Qingzhao grabbed the back of her neck and pressed down fiercely, grinding her lips with ruthless force until her lipstick was smeared and her cheeks were flushed red before he released her, panting.
Cheng Jiamo leaned limply against He Qingzhao's arm, tears welling in her eyes, her mouth open as she gasped for breath.
Looking at her delicate, obedient, and alluring demeanor, He Qingzhao tightened his grip on her waist, his long, slender fingers kneading her back hard, wanting to crush her and make her cry, to meld her into his body, to make her belong to him forever.
Cheng Jiamo cried out in pain as her lower back was pinched, "It hurts, He Qingzhao, you're hurting me."
He Qingzhao loosened his grip, but didn't remove his hand from her waist. He still held her in his arms, looking at her intently. Deep in his heart, it was as if a raging fire was burning, igniting a dark and obsessive possessiveness that wanted to devour her madly.
Cheng Jiaming looked into He Qingzhao's abyss-like, terrifying gaze, her heart skipped a beat, and she hurriedly pushed him, "He Qingzhao, I'm so hungry, let's go out to eat."
He Qingzhao finally suppressed the evil thought in his heart and smiled gently, "Okay."
-
The hot pot restaurant that He Qingzhao took Cheng Jiamo to was located on the twelfth floor of a commercial building in the core area of the CBD in the south of the city. The restaurant was exquisitely decorated and had an open-air garden, making the environment very elegant.
Cheng Jiamo wasn't particularly surprised, not because she was particularly worldly-wise, but because she knew that the places He Qingzhao brought her to would definitely have excellent environments and be of a high standard. It would have been truly shocking if He Qingzhao had taken her to a noisy, roadside hot pot restaurant.
He Qingzhao took her hand and led her into a VIP luxury private room under the guidance of a waiter.
The private room is a large suite with a private bathroom and wardrobe.
Cheng Jiamo took off her coat and hung it in the closet so that she wouldn't smell like hot pot when she put her clothes back on after eating hot pot.
It was already past nine o'clock after they finished eating hot pot. Cheng Jiaming took He Qingzhao's arm and leaned against him affectionately: "He Qingzhao, will you go shopping with me this once?"
They had been together for several months, but He Qingzhao had never gone shopping with her or taken her to the movies.
Every time she had a holiday, He Qingzhao would pick her up and take her away. Either she would go with him to meet his friends, who were all wealthy and powerful young men, and she would hardly talk to them, or she would accompany him to high-society events that were completely out of place for her, such as jewelry exhibitions, calligraphy and painting exhibitions, auctions, charity galas, etc., and she would always silently follow by his side, acting as his invisible accessory.
Although accompanying him to those events did broaden her horizons considerably, it also made her more acutely aware of the gap between them.
She had always been keenly aware that her relationship with He Qingzhao wouldn't last long—maybe a year, maybe two, but they would definitely break up after she graduated from university. She just hadn't expected that they wouldn't even be able to stay together for six months.
"What do you want?" He Qingzhao put his arm around her waist, lowered his head and kissed her cheek. "Just tell me what you want, and I'll have it delivered to your home."
Cheng Jiamo smiled and shook her head: "I don't want anything, I just want you to walk around the streets with me and take a look. If you don't want to, then forget it."
He Qingzhao raised his lips slightly and looked at her with a faint smile: "If you're willing, I'm willing to do whatever you want."
Cheng Jiamo smiled, hugged his neck, and stood on tiptoe to kiss his lips: "He Qingzhao, thank you."
He Qingzhao grabbed her chin and asked, "Don't you have anything you want to ask?"
He had originally intended to wait for Cheng Jiamo to speak first, but she hadn't asked at all, and now he couldn't wait any longer. He had absolutely no self-control in front of her.
Cheng Jiamo remained silent. She knew what He Qingzhao meant, but she deliberately chose not to ask, nor did she want to.
He Qingzhao laughed in exasperation: "You really don't want to know?"
Cheng Jiamo looked at her with an innocent smile: "What are you asking? The photos on the wall?"
He Qingzhao pressed his thumb against her chin and rubbed it: "When did you find out?"
Cheng Jiamo pushed his hand away: "I discovered it by accident this afternoon."
He Qingzhao smiled and praised her, "Great job, you're so calm."
Cheng Jiamo asked him with a smile, "Then can you tell me why you put my picture on the wall?"
Just then, He Qingzhao's phone rang. It was his assistant calling, saying that something had happened at the company and he needed to go there immediately.
Cheng Jiamo said considerately, "Go ahead and do your work, I'll take a taxi home myself."
He Qingzhao was worried about her: "Come with me to the company first, and I'll have someone take you there when we get there."
Cheng Jiamo: "Really, no need. You go ahead and do your thing. I was thinking of going shopping to buy some things."
He Qingzhao: "Okay, call me if anything comes up."
Cheng Jiamo smiled and nodded: "Okay."
As soon as He Qingzhao left, Cheng Jiamo took out her phone and booked a flight for 2 a.m., the only available flight to Lucheng at that time.
She wandered around the mall for a bit, but didn't find anything she wanted to buy. She took a taxi back to her residence, tidied up briefly, wrote a note, placed it on the desk in the study on the first floor, weighed it down with an inkstone, and then dragged her suitcase out of the courtyard house.
After finishing his work on the military project, He Qingzhao returned to the Xihai Courtyard by car. Seeing the study light on, he assumed Cheng Jiamo was still reading and quickly went inside.
The study was empty; a piece of paper lay on the table.
He picked up the note, which contained only one sentence: He Qingzhao, let's break up.
The note fell to the ground. He Qingzhao yanked off his tie and cursed through gritted teeth.
Cheng Jiamo received a call from He Qingzhao as soon as she arrived at the airport. She didn't answer the first time it rang, but she answered it on the second time.
As soon as she answered the call, she heard He Qingzhao say through gritted teeth, "Cheng Jiamo, you're really something!"
Cheng Jiamo pursed her lips and said softly, "He Qingzhao, let's break up."
He Qingzhao laughed out of anger: "Break up? Are you playing house?"
Cheng Jiamo sighed: "I'm not taking this lightly, I'm serious. He Qingzhao, we're not a good match. I don't feel the ease of being in a relationship with you."
He Qingzhao sneered: "Then who would be a suitable match for you?"
Cheng Jiamo remained silent.
He Qingzhao suppressed his anger and said, "If it's about the photos, I'll explain it to you when we get back."
Cheng Jiamo: "It's not all about the photos. Actually, even if I hadn't seen those photos, my relationship with you wouldn't have lasted long. I've always known that our relationship is like dew on a blade of grass; it'll be gone as soon as the sun comes out."
He Qingzhao gritted her teeth in anger: "Are you saying that our relationship was just a fleeting affair?"
Cheng Jiamo: "It's not that bad, but it's not..."
It's not much better.
He Qingzhao growled, "Cheng Jiamo!"
Cheng Jiamo pursed her lips tightly, trying her best not to cry out loud.
He Qingzhao lowered his voice again: "Be good, wait for me at the airport."
Cheng Jiamo's voice choked with sobs: "He Qingzhao, don't come looking for me. Even if you come, I won't go back with you."
He Qingzhao hung up the phone, stepped on the gas, and sped off, exceeding the speed limit the entire way.
Cheng Jiamo anxiously checked the time; there were only two minutes left before she had to go through security. Suddenly, an announcement came over the loudspeaker in the lobby.
"Please have Ms. Cheng Jiamo come immediately..."
Cheng Jiamo paused for a moment, then quickly lowered her head. Even though she knew no one would recognize her, she still kept her head down and pulled her hat brim down further.
Suddenly, her arm was grabbed. She turned around and saw He Qingzhao with a cold expression. She was so frightened that she almost screamed.
He Qingzhao grabbed her arm and quickly walked out of the hall, arriving at the empty square outside the airport.
He released her hand, his dark eyes fixed on her: "You really want to break up?"
Cheng Jiamo nodded: "Mm."
He Qingzhao: "There are two photos of you on the wall. One is one I pulled from the surveillance footage, printed it out and put it on the wall. It's marked with the number 24 because I met you when I was 24. The other photo is one I took of you after we started dating. I'm 27 this year."
Cheng Jiamo: "Then, what about those cats and dogs? You call those cats and dogs 'baby,' and you also call me 'baby,' but you call me exactly the same as you call them, there's no difference."
He Qingzhao's anger dissipated, and he smiled gently: "Jealous?"
Cheng Jiamo said calmly, "I'm not jealous, I just feel we're not right for each other. He Qingzhao, you saved me, you wanted my body, and I've already given it to you. We're even now, from now on..."
"What are you saying?" He Qingzhao suddenly grabbed her chin, his voice low and cold. "Cheng Jiamo, is this how you see me?"
For the first time, the usually aloof and composed Young Master He showed anger in his eyes, but quickly suppressed it.
He released her hand and gave a cool laugh: "Are you sure you want to break up?"
Cheng Jiamo: "Yes."
He Qingzhao laughed and stepped back: "Okay, let's break up then. Cheng Jiamo, you'll regret it."
