Chapter 10

Chapter 10

"You really don't want to spend time with me?"

On the elevated highway connecting the east and north of the city, a scene reminiscent of "Fast and Furious" is unfolding: an orange Lamborghini Aventador is forced to stop by four black Mercedes-Benz G-Class vehicles.

The G-Wagon flanked the dazzling bull from all sides, trapping it in the middle.

The door of the orange sports car opened, and He Zongxun got out of the car menacingly, slammed the door shut, and headed straight for the lead G-Class.

He Jingyang quickly got out of the passenger seat, rushed forward and grabbed He Zongxun's arm, advising, "Second Brother, don't be impulsive!"

He Zongxun, his face tense, kicked the headlight of the G-Class. He was about to kick it a second time when He Jingyang forcibly pulled him back.

The front doors of the four Mercedes-Benz G-Class cars opened simultaneously, and two bodyguards in suits stepped out of each car.

He Zongxun was even angrier, and rolled up his sleeves, ready to fight: "What, you want to fight me?"

The eight bodyguards remained silent, standing proudly in front of the car, blocking He Zongxun's path.

Just then, a white Phantom drove gracefully past.

The car window rolled down, and He Qingzhao turned to look at He Zongxun, a disdainful smile playing on his lips.

He Zongxun was so angry that he cursed, "He Qingzhao, you bastard! If you're so capable, then bring that girl home! If you don't, I'll look down on you!"

The car window slowly rolled up, and the white phantom sped away against the autumn morning light.

-

After breakfast, Cheng Jiamo carried her textbooks and walked towards the teaching building with her roommate.

Since it was still early and there was still half an hour before class, the three of them strolled along, chatting as they went.

When I got to the side of the main building, I saw a group of people stopped on the road and wouldn't move.

In the veil of autumn light, He Qingzhao, dressed in a well-made white suit, stood aloof and refined on the highest step in front of the main building.

His appearance instantly made him the center of attention, attracting the attention of everyone walking along the road.

The students parked on the side of the road all stared at him as if they were paying their respects.

But he stepped through the crowd and looked intently at Cheng Jiamo.

Cheng Jiamo wasn't sure if He Qingzhao had come to see her, but the moment she met his gaze, her heart pounded as if she had just finished a vigorous workout.

She hurriedly lowered her eyes, pretended to be calm, took out her phone, unlocked the screen, and exclaimed in surprise, "Oh dear, my friend needs to see me urgently." Before Ding and Zhang could speak, she said, "You two go to the classroom first, I'll call my friend back."

Zhang Wenqian looked at her with surprise, but didn't ask any questions. She just reminded her, "Hurry up, don't be late."

Cheng Jiamo quickly ran towards the back of the main building with her phone in hand. There was a birch forest there, which was almost deserted in the morning, but became crowded at night because many couples would go on dates in the forest.

She ran into the woods, panting heavily.

A moment later, the sound of leather shoes hitting the ground could be heard behind me.

One step, two steps, the steady, calm footsteps grew closer and closer, and her heart beat faster and faster.

She resisted the urge to turn around, but when the footsteps stopped, she could clearly sense someone standing behind her. At that moment, she had no choice but to turn around and met He Qingzhao's deep, unfathomable gaze.

"Congratulations..."

She had barely uttered a soft syllable when He Qingzhao grabbed her waist and pulled her into his arms.

Her body tensed suddenly, her eyes widened, and she struggled to break free.

He Qingzhao tightened his grip on her waist with one hand, while gently stroking her head with the other: "Be good, don't resist."

Cheng Jiamo's heart raced, her breathing became erratic, and her whole body trembled, but she forced herself to speak, "Mr. He..." She was about to call him "Mr. He" when she remembered his instructions and quickly changed her words, "He Qingzhao, what's wrong with you?"

He Qingzhao arched his back, nuzzled her neck with his chin, brushed his thin lips against her earlobe, and whispered in her ear, "Let me hold you for a while."

Cheng Jiamo raised her trembling hand, hugged his lean and taut waist, gently patted his back, and said softly, "He Qingzhao, don't be sad."

She had no idea what had happened to him, but she instinctively sensed that he was in a bad mood. Whether he was angry or sad, she didn't know.

However, it would be inappropriate to tell him "don't be angry," as that would imply that he has a bad temper. Instead, telling him "don't be sad" would be much more appropriate, as it would sound more like you care about him.

In fact, she did want to care about him.

Seeing him like this, she felt bad too.

He Qingzhao smiled happily at her careful attempts to please him, and chuckled softly as he rested his chin on her neck.

Whether it was genuine or ulterior motives, he accepted it all.

“You are the first.” His voice was deep and gentle, his lazy and slow tone containing a sense of satisfaction like rain after a long drought, as he said to himself, “Cheng Jiamo, you are the first.”

What's the first one?

Cheng Jiamo looked completely bewildered, having no idea what he was talking about.

She placed her hand against his chest and tentatively pushed him away.

He Qingzhao released her, his smiling eyes like the morning light filtering through the trees—warm, gentle, and affectionate.

He looked at her with those gentle and affectionate eyes, and said in a tender, almost indulgent tone, "Cheng Jiamo, you are the first."

A strange, tingling sensation rose in Cheng Jiamo's heart, like a soft feather brushing against her chest, or like an electric current flowing through her body.

"He Xian... He Qingzhao, what's wrong with you?" She still wasn't used to calling him by his name directly.

He Qingzhao smiled and gently patted her head with his large hand: "Go to class quickly."

Cheng Jiamo nodded: "Okay."

She turned to leave, but looking into He Qingzhao's eyes, which were as misty as late autumn, a strange, bittersweet feeling welled up inside her.

She had already turned her body away, but then she turned back and reached out to hug him.

"He Qingzhao, I don't know what happened to you, but I hope you won't be sad."

He Qingzhao gently patted the back of her head: "I'm not sad, go to class."

Cheng Jiamo stepped out of his embrace and smiled gently at him: "I'm going to class now. I'll treat you to dinner after class."

She owes him a meal, and even if she agrees to pretend to be his girlfriend, she still has to treat him to a meal to make up for it.

He Qingzhao smiled and said, "Okay, I'll wait for you."

Cheng Jiamo was distracted during her two classes this morning; this was the first time she had ever been distracted in class.

As she listened, the image of He Qingzhao's deep eyes flashed through her mind, his gaze so tender it seemed almost fragile.

As soon as the bell rang, she hurriedly said to Ding Qiaoqiao beside her, "Qiaoqiao, I have something to do, I have to go first."

After saying that, she picked up her textbooks and ran downstairs as fast as she could.

As soon as she got downstairs, she picked up her phone and called He Qingzhao.

"I'm out of class, where are you?"

He Qingzhao said lazily, "Momo, how about we play a game?"

Cheng Jiamo frowned: "What do you mean?"

He Qingzhao said in a deep voice, "Come find me. If you can find me within ten minutes, you win. If you can't, you lose."

Cheng Jiamo suddenly felt nervous: "What if we win? What if we lose?"

"If you win, I'll pay for your education for free, without expecting anything in return. If you lose, you'll stay with me for two years."

Cheng Jiamo's heart skipped a beat: "I...I don't quite understand what you mean. Didn't you say yesterday that you wanted me to pretend to be your girlfriend?"

He Qingzhao smiled lazily: "Yesterday is yesterday, and now is now. Besides, I never said I was pretending."

Cheng Jiamo: "..."

She vaguely sensed that He Qingzhao was not as gentle and refined as he appeared on the surface.

He Qingzhao asked, "Want to take a gamble?"

Cheng Jiamo paused for a moment, then asked, "Accompanying you for two years, does that mean being your girlfriend for two years?"

He Qingzhao said, "Yes."

Cheng Jiamo bit her lip and asked again, "Then, do we also need to do some intimate things that boyfriends and girlfriends do?"

Holding hands, hugging, and more intimate things...

He Qingzhao smiled and said, "Of course."

Cheng Jiamo ran wildly with her textbooks in her arms, as if she were participating in a 100-meter sprint.

She ran all the way to the birch forest behind the main building. There weren't many people there yet; it was noon, and everyone had gone to eat.

He Qingzhao stood casually on the tree-lined path, his left hand in his pocket and a cigarette between two fingers of his right hand.

The autumn light made him appear even more radiant and dashing.

He withdrew his left hand, glanced at his watch, and said with a smile, "Exactly ten minutes."

Cheng Jiamo was panting heavily, her cheeks flushed, and she stood under the shade of a tree, gasping for breath.

He Qingzhao walked up to her, gently stroked her flushed face with the back of his hand, and looked at her with a gentle smile: "You really don't want to spend time with me?"

He was clearly smiling, but his eyes seemed to be covered with a thin layer of autumn frost.

Cheng Jiamo pursed her lips, then suddenly bumped into his arms and hugged his waist.

"He Qingzhao, I lost."
