Chapter 9: Fairy Shengle (1)

Chapter 9: Fairy Shengle (1)

Oh, this is just an illusion.

Li Yuanying smiled bitterly. She was a dying person, but she still had hope.

According to Imperial Master Fu Yu's calculations, Li Yuanying wouldn't live past fifteen. She had originally planned to serve as the Li family's final tool, then quietly depart. However, because the Great Seal of the Nine Provinces hadn't been restored, her father, fearing punishment from the Emperor, insisted on forcing her to stay for another year.

In this way, a bond was formed with Qilang.

Fortunately, Qilang probably has no good feelings towards her, because he... If the woman in red had not called out the wrong name in a hurry, Li Yuanying might not have thought so, but she was so smart that some clues could make her understand.

Li Yuanying didn't think any more. She pushed the door open and stepped into the rain, stretching out a pair of slender hands. The cold rain was drizzling, the flowers were blooming, and the blue fire stars slipped through her fingers.

Qilang was shocked. He hadn't expected his flame rain to have no effect on the girl. She looked at him innocently through the flame rain, seeming to be expectant and happy.

Is she happy to see me? Qilang wondered.

As Qilang thought about this, he couldn't help but exert force on his feet, and in an instant he moved in front of Li Yuanying. The wind stirred up, caressing the girl's hair, and the faint fragrance of plum blossoms wafted over, making him feel happy.

Gold hairpins, jade hairpins, silk and satin, a graceful beauty, is right before my eyes. Perhaps it would be okay to take advantage of this illusion and be gentle with her.

"Madam, please come home with me." Qilang's smile was like a spring flower, and his voice was like a willow. He stretched out his hand towards Li Yuanying.

"Home?" Li Yuanying asked in a daze.

"Yes. Wherever the Madam is, that is our home."

Li Yuanying looked at the tender appearance of the young man in front of her, which was like a soft piece of music, with the notes jumping among the raindrops, moving and intoxicating.

What a sweet dream.

If only I could have a home of my own.

That was not his father's home, nor was it Jiang's home, nor was it Li Yuanxi's home, but his own home.

Li Yuanying grabbed the hand that Qilang extended to her, and the warmth spread from one end to the other. The rain, the night, and the warmth all seemed real.

The raindrops fell on her, and it seemed that every drop could take away a bit of her pain.

Suddenly, Li Yuanying felt a blackness before her eyes. The room, courtyard, and path around her disappeared. There was only pitch-black darkness and biting cold.

She nervously grasped Qilang's hand and looked around vigilantly.

"What? Finally came out of the illusion?" Qilang's voice became cold again.

Perhaps it was the rain that woke her up from her illusion.

"Have you caught enough?" Qilang asked as he looked at Li Yuanying holding his hand.

Li Yuanying let go of her hand awkwardly. She felt strange. When did Qilang become so gentle like the spring breeze? Now she looked more like him.

"I didn't expect that as the first demon goddess in Jiuzhou, you can't even break the illusion of a small demon." Qilang approached Li Yuanying and mocked.

"Yes, because I saw the person I missed day and night in the illusion, and I didn't want to leave." Li Yuanying was too lazy to argue with Qilang. He was just a child who loved to talk.

"The person I miss day and night? Who is it?" Qilang frowned.

"Anyway, it's not you." Li Yuanying said unhappily. She felt a strong demonic aura ahead, so she moved forward in the dark.

"If it's not me, then who is it? Is it your useless senior brother?" Qilang followed closely.

"Senior brother is the heir to the Zhang family's sword sect, a senior official of the Guards of Ming, a favorite of the Emperor, and his family is extremely wealthy. How can he be useless?" Li Yuanying did not want Qilang to succeed, so she replied.

When Qilang heard Li Yuanying say this, he sneered: "Who the hell do you think Shoumingwei Gaosi is? Do you know me..."

At this point, Qilang stopped. He didn't know how to continue. As a prince of the demon clan, did he need to compete with Gao Si, a mere guard of the Ming Guard?

"How do I know you? Do you want to explain to me why that woman calls you Your Highness?" Li Yuanying stopped and turned to look at Qilang.

"I told you, you heard it wrong. There is no such thing as His Highness." Qilang denied it flatly.

Li Yuanying knew that Qilang would not easily admit the matter, so she stopped pursuing the matter. Whether he wanted to say it or not, it was meaningless to her, who would not live long.

Li Yuanying took out a piece of talisman paper that Yuan Xi had given her from her pocket and threw it into the air: "Ming!"

The talisman paper floated in the air and burned, and the bright light illuminated the dark space.

Li Yuanying and Qilang have arrived at the place where the evil spirit is the strongest. It is a huge tower covered with rice paper, each of which has a few lines of words written on it.

Li Yuanying peeled off one and saw the words written on it: "Shengle Immortal, please bless my son to pass the imperial examination. After the success, I will definitely rebuild your golden body."

"Shengle Immortal, please bless me to have a son soon and have everything go well."

"Shengle Immortal, may I soon find my beloved and be together forever."

Li Yuanying looked at the thousands of notes that reached into the clouds. They were actually people's wishes. However, the strong purple evil aura was overflowing from the bottom of the wishing tower.

"Before this demon became a demon, it was actually a deity?" Li Yuanying asked in surprise.

It seems that this tower should be the place where people worshipped and made wishes to her when she was still the Fairy Shengle.

"It should be." Qilang looked up at the tower and nodded.

What on earth had the Fairy Shengle experienced to become a monster? Li Yuanying looked carefully at the tower and saw a piece of paper covered in black smoke among the many prayers.

She reached out to take it off, but felt a pain like being pricked by a needle. She hissed and pulled her hand back.

When Li Yuanying wanted to reach out to pick it again, Qilang reached out before her. He reluctantly tore the paper off, leaving very tiny scratches on his hand and fine beads of blood oozing from the back of his hand.

"You..." Li Yuanying didn't know what to say to him, "If you knew you would get hurt, why did you do it so recklessly?"

"If I don't take it, won't you just do it recklessly?" Qilang asked back.

Li Yuanying knew she was in the wrong and did not refute. She just pulled off a piece of cloth from her sleeve, tore it into a whole strip, and carefully wrapped it around Qilang.

Li Yuanying was carefully wrapping the bandage. She didn't notice that Qilang looked much better and a smile appeared on the corner of his mouth.

Maybe she's always been out there with her father, fighting and killing, and inevitably getting injured, so she's so skilled at bandaging. Qilang thought, but, she and her senior brother should have gone out together to train before, right? No way... she bandaged him the same way...

Qilang's mood soured again. He actually didn't like this feeling at all, and he didn't know why he was so upset by the woman in front of him.

Li Yuanying finished bandaging the wound and picked up the note Qilang had taken down. It read, "If I could see the light again, I would treat people with kindness, contribute to the world with virtue, and influence others with my heart."

Suddenly, bright red blood began to seep out of the paper, swallowing the paper and turning into a red mist that enveloped Li Yuanying and Qilang.

"Be careful." Qilang quickly covered Li Yuanying's mouth and nose, but it was too late. The two fell into the illusion again.

[To break this situation, you must let go of your obsession. The person who tied the bell must be the one to untie it.]

Before the two entered the illusion, a line of words appeared in front of them, and then disappeared into thin air.

When Li Yuanying woke up again, she found herself in a shabby room with only two straw mats on the walls. In front of her, in the flickering candlelight, she saw a woman in her wedding dress sitting before her.

When she looked at herself again, she found herself wearing a groom's wedding suit and had turned into a man.

Li Yuanying lifted the bride's veil, and she almost fell onto the chair. Her eyes were dark and empty.

The bride had her eyes gouged out.
