Not long after, Lin Xiyue and his group arrived at the destination marked on the map - the island base built by the Yuhai Navy.
This island base sits on an isolated island in Yuhai City. From afar, it resembles a silent unicorn, resting quietly on a reef. The island base is triangular in shape, its surface composed of gray concrete buildings. These buildings stretch along the coastline like the scales of a unicorn, giving it a sense of solidity and mystery.
Along the coast, a salty sea breeze whistled, sending waves crashing violently against the rocks, creating a roaring sound. Amidst this deafening din, there seemed to be the faint whirring of machinery, emanating from the island itself, a sound that piqued curiosity about what lay within.
Three layers of high-voltage power grids were erected around the island base, like the fangs of a steel behemoth, closely guarding the base's safety. Warning lights atop the wire mesh flickered beneath the gloomy sky, sometimes bright, sometimes dim, as if warning the outside world of the danger.
Inside the base's guardhouse, several sentries in camouflage uniforms stood erect, submachine guns in hand, their eyes scanning the surroundings with vigilance. High above the island, several snipers, their rifles in hand, their scopes flickering with a cold light. With sharp eyes like hawks, these snipers scanned the sea, not missing a single movement.
The closer they got to the dock, the more solemn and majestic the place became. In the distance, two frigates sat quietly anchored, their hull numbers obscured by the sea mist, creating a hazy, mysterious and majestic atmosphere. On the deck, neatly arranged aircraft resembled dormant birds of prey, ready to take flight at any moment.
Lin Xiyue gripped the strap of her backpack tightly, feeling the chill from her fingertips making her nervous. This place was more fortified than she'd imagined. Even the air smelled of metal and disinfectant, as if every inch of land silently declared: This is the Yuhai City military's fortress, and no threats will be allowed to approach.
Lin Xiyue carefully pulled the other three people and hid in a relatively secluded corner.
Gu Qinghan, Ji Yuan and Du Luoqing each picked up a telescope and carefully observed the situation around the island base.
