"I come from China, more than a thousand years later.
“There is a doomsday catastrophe happening there.
“My ability, known as supernatural power there, suddenly awakened one day.
"Researchers have been studying supernatural powers for ten years, but still can't figure it out.
"That's why I said that even if I gave her to you, you wouldn't be able to figure it out."
Si Jingyu nodded in understanding. There was already a huge difference between them. Even technology a thousand years later couldn't research something, let alone them.
Su Qingzhu continued, "The fittest survive, and the unfit are eliminated.
“You can think of superpowers as abilities bestowed by nature on the fittest.
"Zombies are nature's way of eliminating the unfit.
"The apocalypse, simply put, is a battle between the fittest and the unfit."
Su Qingzhu paused and looked at Si Jingyu, who was hesitant to speak. "Do you want to know why we had to fight?"
"Yeah." Si Jingyu nodded, "Can't we coexist peacefully?"
Su Qingzhu took out a tablet and showed him pictures of zombies.
"These are zombies. Do you think we can coexist peacefully?"
The moment he saw the photo clearly, Si Jingyu took a breath of cold air, "What are they doing..."
Su Qingzhu continued, "Eating people?"
Si Jingyu stiffened his neck and nodded with difficulty, "Yeah."
"Yeah, they're eating people."
Si Jingyu swallowed his saliva, "Why do they want to eat people?"
"I don't know." Su Qingzhu tilted his head and gave a fantastic answer, "Return to animal nature?"
Aren’t humans evolved from apes?
Weren’t the predecessors of ape-men beasts?
She sat over and turned over the photos at the back for Si Jingyu.
Those photos record the development history of zombies over the past ten years.
Zombies, from the initial human-like appearance, to the middle stage when their skin decays, to the skin repairing after their superpowers are upgraded, and finally to being no different from humans.
Of course, the only one who is no different from humans is the Zombie King.
Those who have not reached the level of the Zombie King, no matter how human-like their skin is, their eyes are still like those of a dead fish, empty and lifeless.
It is because zombies are becoming more and more like humans that Su Qingzhu can't figure out whether zombies have souls or not.
"This one is already the same as us." Si Jingyu pointed at the Zombie King and said.
"Yeah." Su Qingzhu looked at the photo of the Zombie King who had fought with their base for three years and was finally pulled to death by her.
It is undeniable that he is really handsome.
What a pity, why did it have to be the Zombie King?
However, he looks a lot like that person, could it be that, wait—
Who is that person?
However, after searching through all his memories, Su Qingzhu could not remember where he had seen such a face before.
Seeing that her face was not right, Si Jingyu immediately hugged her into his arms to comfort her, "Don't say it, I don't want to know anymore."
"It's okay." Su Qingzhu smiled, "It has nothing to do with this matter."
"Hmm? Why is that?"
"Tell me, do zombies have souls?"
"Hmm..." Si Jingyu turned to look at the Zombie King, "I think so."
Those sharp and bright eyes seemed to be looking at him through the screen.
How could a dead thing have such eyes?
"Really?" Then, could the Zombie King have also come through?
"What did you think of?" Si Jingyu asked doubtfully.
"I wonder if he's coming here too."
Si Jingyu was surprised, "No way!"
"Oh, I haven't finished yet." Su Qingzhu withdrew from his embrace and sat back beside him, "Wait until I finish speaking before you worry about it."
Si Jingyu looked at her helplessly, "Okay."
"He is the king of zombies and also a level ten mutant."
"Wait a minute." Si Jingyu couldn't help but interrupt her. "Didn't you just say that superpowers are bestowed by nature on the fittest? How come zombies also have superpowers?"
"I don't know," Su Qingzhu spread his hands, "Maybe nature doesn't want them to die?"
They are all her people, she cannot favor one over the other.
Si Jingyu: “…”
It's so contradictory.
Is it true that nature has given humans such an obvious power that makes them kill each other?
Su Qingzhu ignored him and continued, "So I guess the final outcome should be that the two sides reach a coexistence agreement."
Si Jingyu asked, "Besides humans, what else do zombies eat?"
Su Qingzhu replied: "I don't know."
Si Jingyu finally couldn't help rolling his eyes. How could he confidently come to this conclusion when he knew nothing about anything?
If zombies only eat humans, there will never be a coexistence agreement.
He said, "Go on."
"The day I traveled through time, the Zombie King led a horde of zombies to attack our base. His abilities were level ten, while our highest was only level nine, so I had no choice but to self-destruct and perish with him."
As soon as she finished speaking, she was hugged tightly by Si Jingyu.
"Does it hurt?" he asked.
Su Qingzhu suddenly burst into tears. His attention was actually on her.
She patted him and said, "It shouldn't hurt. When you open your eyes again, I'll be inside Su Si Ya's body."
She raised her hand and cut through the space, and a faint fragrance came out from it.
She closed her eyes and took a deep sniff, blinking away the moisture. "Luckily, my powers came with me."
Si Jingyu bent down and kissed her, "It is a talisman given to you by God, so it must be with you."
"Taking the lead in promoting feudal superstition?" Su Qingzhu poked his hard chest, "Be careful or I'll report you."
Si Jingyu suddenly lowered his head and blocked her mouth, letting you be naughty.
