Chapter 22

Chapter 22

After crossing the road, Jiang Xu held He Jin's hand and walked very slowly. Neither of them spoke. He Jin lowered his brows, and no one knew what he was thinking.

She kicked the pebbles under her feet and didn't ask anything. She was confused by what she heard just now and didn't know anything. She only knew that what came out of He Yu's dog mouth must not be good words, which made her delicate flower unhappy.

Her good mood for the day was completely ruined. Now she just wanted time to pass slower, the way home to be longer, and she could stay with him longer.

But no matter how long the road is, it always comes to an end. When they arrived at the door of their home, He Jin let go of her hand and they stood face to face. Jiang Xu looked into He Jin's eyes, which were filled with endless darkness.

Jiang Xu frowned slightly, took his hand, and the two of them turned around. Finally, light was reflected in He Jin's eyes.

He Jin noticed her intention, curled his lips, raised his hand to smooth her hair, leaned over and gently touched her forehead: "Go back and go to bed early, little friend."

"Oh." The girl blinked, walked into the door obediently, and waved at him again.

He Jin put one hand in his pocket, watched her movements, raised his hand and waved, signaling her to close the door.

It was not until the light in the room came on that he turned around, walked behind the stone pillar at the gate, leaned against the wall, took out a cigarette from his pocket, and put it between his lips. The sound of the flint rubbing against each other seemed very abrupt in the silent night.

It took him two tries to create a flame, but it was blown askew by a gust of wind and he couldn't light the cigarette. He frowned in annoyance, and suddenly two white hands protected the flame. The flame revived little by little, igniting a hint of scarlet.

A trace of surprise flashed in He Jin's eyes, but he let the girl come closer and took the cigarette from his mouth. Her warm lips touched the corner of his lips and bit them lightly before separating. Her eyes were cunning: "Boyfriend, you forgot this today."

He was 188cm tall, and the girl stood on tiptoe, hooking her arm around his neck, but it was still a bit difficult. He held her waist and bent down slightly. Before he could say anything, he heard the girl say, "Also, don't always treat me like a kid. I'm your girlfriend."

"Yeah," he laughed and pinched her face with his other hand, "Got it, girlfriend."

"Why did you come down?" Maybe he was distracted and didn't notice that the girl ran down again.

"Because... I miss you." The girl smiled, her eyes shining.

He Jin didn't ask any more questions and just looked at her. They were so close that he could feel her heartbeat, passionate and in sync with his.

He didn't know how he resisted kissing her. At that moment, he just wanted to look at her more.

Jiang Xu reached out and poked the corner of his lips upwards, grinning. A light shone in her almond-shaped eyes, reflecting him. "Brother Jin, be happy every day. I have always been your little sun, just your little sun."

It's just yours, yours alone.

This was the most supreme and sincere promise she had ever made.

He listened, remembered, and believed.

He gained very little but kept losing.

He had long been accustomed to the feeling of loss and had long been numb to it, but at this moment, he suddenly understood something. Everything he had lost was not worth a single cent of the girl in front of him. Whether in the past or in the future, perhaps all his life's luck would be spent on her.

He never believed in gods or immortals, but he believed everything she said.

As long as he believes in it, it will not change no matter how long the world ends, no matter if all things are exhausted or the universe is destroyed.

She said she would stay with him for a long time, and he did the same, giving her everything she wanted.

Before the bitterness in his heart could overflow, He Jin hugged the girl in front of him. She was the little sun, the warmest little sun. He had caught her.

………

"You went to see him again"

He Wangjiang looked at He Yu, who was slumped on the sofa and reeked of alcohol, and was furious. He said in a very aggressive tone: "You little bastard, haven't you been punished enough by your grandfather?"

“…” He Yu collapsed on the sofa, not saying a word.

"Son, I've told you to wait and wait. He's an illegitimate child, how can he compete with you in the end? Your grandfather only did it for the He family. Now you are the one who suffers!" He Wangjiang said earnestly.

"Why should he?! Everything in the He family originally belonged to me." He Yu suddenly opened his eyes, his eyes bloodshot. "He came back and took everything away. It's so glorious and impressive. The He family will be his from now on."

"You...ah..." He Wangjiang looked at him, hesitant to speak.

Forget it, let him be. This young man is too impatient. It’s better to do some things by myself. Anyway, Mr. He won’t live long, and he can’t show off for much longer.

He Yu snapped the rubber band on his hand and smiled darkly. Things are only fun if you snatch them away.

He Jin had robbed him of so many things, he would definitely take them all back, and he would also take away the things he cared about most, and he would make sure that he would have nothing.

——

Monday morning, playground assembly.

A new director of political education came to No. 3 Middle School. Taking advantage of the atmosphere after the midterm exam, he kept talking on the podium.

After finally waiting for him to finish, the deputy director continued. Although the wind wasn't strong on the playground, it was very cold. The students were huddled together for warmth, wishing they could shut these people up.

At times like these, only these directors were like wearing polar bear fur, not afraid of the cold at all, and could even speak passionately.

Jiang Xu was very afraid of the cold, so before walking out of the teaching building, she pulled her scarf higher, covering half of her face and leaving only her eyes exposed. However, the tips of her ears were still red from the cold, and she tucked her hands into her sleeves, unwilling to take them out.

Listening to the director's nonsense, she felt bored and shifted her gaze elsewhere to look for someone.

She looked at Class 7 from front to back, but didn't see He Jin. The other people were not there either, and he didn't reply to the message she had just sent him.

She suddenly remembered the obscure smile He Yu had on his face before he left the night before, and then thought of those strong men, and a bad premonition arose in her heart.

No. 3 Middle School focuses on physical exercise. There is a 40-minute break between classes. Jiang Xu looked at the director on the stage who didn't know when he would finish his speech, so he went straight to Wang Yuguang to ask for leave.

The teaching building was empty, with only the sound of the radio echoing. She realized that the school was so big, and she didn't know where the person was, and it might not even be in the school. Where could she find him?

She returned to the classroom to get her phone and called Song Li. She probably skipped the break again, so the call went through quickly: "Do you know where Brother Jin went?"

"Brother Jin, he just left school. I don't know where he went. Didn't he tell you?" There was the sound of keyboard typing on the other end of the phone. He Jin was not in school and was not with them.

“I see. Thank you.”

Without waiting for a response from the other end, she hung up the phone in a hurry, and without caring about anything else, she found a wall to climb over.

Song Li on the other end of the phone was confused, with a question mark stuck in his throat. What was going on today? Why were everyone so anxious?

It was not uncommon for He Jin to suddenly leave in the middle of class in the morning, so he didn't take it seriously at first.

But after seeing Jiang Xu's reaction, even the dumbest person would realize that there might be some trouble.

He took off his headphones, took a picture of the people who were happily playing in front of the computer, and went to look for someone else.

——

"You're really hard to please." He Yu blocked the crowd in the back street of the school and called over the big men. "But you really care about her."

"Purpose." He Jin stood opposite them with his hands in his pockets, still looking lazy and casual, and never gave them a straight look from beginning to end.

"Tsk... purpose? That group of people are not here today, and there is no one here. What do you have to confront me?" He Yu called him at this precise moment.

He also knew that He Jin would not come out, so he said that if he didn't come out, he would go to block Jiang Xu every day. Even if she was good at fighting, with so many people around, how could she not do something bad?

I didn't expect it to come so soon. This time I was caught completely. It turns out that once a person has a weakness, there will be handles everywhere.

"My goal is to beat you up, make you kneel on the ground and call me grandpa, and then make the girl you hold dear to your heart abandon you... How about this, is this goal satisfactory enough?" He Yu laughed almost crazily.

He Jin glanced at him, curled his lips lightly, without a trace of warmth, as if it had nothing to do with him: "What do you think? Still want to go to the hospital."

What he hated most was He Jin's arrogant attitude, as if he didn't take him seriously at all. It was really annoying.

He suppressed his smile and said, "Let's go together."

As soon as he finished speaking, seven or eight big men rushed forward. He Jin took a step back, grabbed the first man's hand and twisted it to the side. There was a crisp sound, like the sound of a broken bone. The big man covered his hand and screamed, almost falling to the ground and rolling around.

The others looked at each other in bewilderment. Since they had taken the money, they had to do the job, so they had no choice but to go ahead and do it.

The physiques of these big men were not weak. He Jin was surrounded in the middle and his punches were more powerful than the last.

He didn't care about the man with the injured hand. He found a beer bottle from somewhere and was about to smash it against He Jin's back.

The bottle was intercepted in mid-air by a hand with great force. The big man was caught off guard and the bottle was snatched away. As the force leaned forward, he was kicked hard in the stomach and fell backwards to the ground.

Jiang Xu received it with her right hand. The scab had not fallen off yet and was only wrapped with a layer of gauze. The big man was very strong, and she felt a tearing sensation when he received it, but she could not feel it. She only felt the anger burning in her heart.

Jiang Xu smashed the beer bottle against the wall. With a crisp sound, the bottom of the bottle shattered into pieces, leaving sharp thorns on the bottle body.

Everyone paused, but Jiang Xu didn't stop moving. He walked over to He Jin and said coldly, "Get out of here."

The big man was frightened. He looked at her and then at the person next to him, cursing something dirty.

"Pa pa pa" applause could be heard, and several people made way for them. A provocative voice was heard: "The scene where Miss Jiang, the beauty, saved the hero was really exciting."

Jiang Xu's eyes turned red with anger, and she smashed the bottle in her hand at his feet, "You are just a piece of trash who can only hide behind others."

"Oh... No, comparing you to trash is flattering you. Get the hell out of here."

"You fucking..." He Yu laughed out of anger. Ever since that life station, he had others investigate Jiang Xu, the daughter of the chairman of the Jiang Group. She was arrogant and had the capital. This kind of prickly rose was only beautiful when picked.

Every time his hatred for He Jin increased, his interest in her grew stronger.
