"Outsiders?" Su Sui looked at the man whose face was flushed with anger, then suddenly smiled, her voice laced with sarcasm, "Hua'er is an outsider? Or is my whole family an outsider?"
“That’s not what I meant, Sui’er, why are you arguing with me like this?” The man sighed, his tone softening instantly. “I know you’ve always doted on your sister, and in your heart I’m probably not even worth a hair on her head, but… if you expose this, it won’t be good for either of us.”
"Don't worry, I've never mentioned those disgusting things to anyone." Su Sui looked at the man, a cold smile playing on her lips. "However, don't bring up things like 'always thinking of me' again."
If you had ever truly cared for me, not even a little bit, you shouldn't have married me three years ago.
Besides, if Hua'er really wanted to keep you at home, do you think you could escape with your physique?
Upon hearing the words "didn't mention it to anyone," Wang Chunfu felt a great weight lifted from his shoulders. He composed himself, stood up, and moved a few steps closer to Su Sui opposite him. "Sui'er, I'm sorry. I was just too worried, which is why I said those thoughtless and foolish things."
I have indeed wronged you over the years, but I was pressured by my family back then, and it was not my wish.
Moreover, I've been trying my best to make it up to you all these years. Everything you like, and your beloved family, I've kept in my heart, doing everything I can to treat you and them well.
However, no matter how earnest his words were, Su Sui beside him stared quietly out the window with her almond-shaped eyes, showing no further reaction.
Wang Chunfu sighed softly, and a long while passed.
Finally, she couldn't help but ask, "Since you didn't tell your family, why did Sister Hua'er suddenly want to take my pulse at the birthday banquet?"
He still vividly remembers the look in Su Hua's eyes when she took his pulse. The coldness in her eyes seemed to freeze him in place. Although it was just a fleeting glance, he was certain that he had not misread it.
That was clearly an expression of extreme disgust.
Over the years, he asked himself if he had ever done anything to betray Su Hua.
Every time Su Hua visited the Su family, she would always address him as "brother-in-law" and be incredibly polite.
But now that he's sober, he immediately changes his attitude towards him.
Su Hua must know something about it.
Seeing the man approach, Su Sui immediately got up and moved to a corner, giving a nonchalant laugh, "Why did Hua'er take your pulse? Shouldn't you know the reason best?"
We've been married for almost four years, and we haven't had any children, not even a miscarriage.
They all openly and secretly laughed at me, calling me a hen that doesn't lay eggs.
But now, Hua'er has discovered that I am perfectly healthy.
"Don't you think we need to find out who this 'barren hen' actually is?"
Wang Chunfu was taken aback. "But... what can you possibly glean from taking a pulse? Could it be that Sister Hua'er's medical skills are truly superior to those of Doctor Zhou?"
"I don't know." Su Sui's lips moved slightly, her expression indifferent.
Her mother had instructed her in the kitchen not to tell others too much about Hua'er's affairs, and she would keep her mouth shut.
The man's expression stiffened visibly. Seeing that Su Sui was unwilling to say more, he reached out to take her hand, his voice softening, "Sui'er, why don't we find some time to go to Shanghe Village again and give Hua'er some instructions, so she won't misunderstand..."
His hand had barely touched her sleeve when it was abruptly pulled away.
The woman immediately stood up and moved to the opposite side, her expression more like a resistance as if she were avoiding a venomous snake or a ferocious beast. "Wang Chunfu! Whether it's a misunderstanding or the truth, you know the answer in your heart."
Besides, I already told you, don't touch me anymore. Keep your distance when you see me, so I don't feel disgusted!
The sudden increase in the volume of accusations, coupled with extreme disdain, caused Wang Chunfu to completely lose his usual gentle demeanor.
He flicked his wide sleeves, his face suddenly darkening. "Su Sui, your words have become increasingly hurtful lately! You're completely different from the gentle and quiet woman you used to be!"
"I hurt someone?! Hahahaha..." Su Sui chuckled, and as she laughed, tears streamed down her face.
"When your Wang family plotted against me, didn't you realize you were hurting people? When you went out to brothels to have fun, weren't you hurting people? When that old man sneaked into my bed in the middle of the night, weren't you hurting people?"
Her eyes were bloodshot, and her teeth were grinding together in extreme anger. "Wang Chunfu, let me tell you, out of the millions of people in this world, your Wang family is the most disgusting, more repulsive than maggots in a cesspool!"
“Su Sui!!!” Wang Chunfu’s eyes were filled with fear and shock.
He stood up, pressed Su Sui down onto the stool, and covered her mouth tightly.
Only after straining his ears and hearing no movement from the driver outside the carriage, guessing that he hadn't heard, did he dare to release Su Sui.
He lowered his voice to the lowest level, "Sui'er, I've explained to you countless times that my father is old and his eyesight is failing. He can't see the way at night, so he went to the wrong room. It's really not what you think."
At this point, he shrugged, "Besides, once this kind of thing gets out, no one will care whether it's a misunderstanding or not. In the end, it won't just be the Wang family that will be shamed."
Even your Su family will become the subject of everyone's idle gossip.
Moreover, Hua'er is not married yet. If people find out, her older sister will…”
"Are you threatening me again?" Su Sui looked at the man, her hands suddenly clenching under her sleeves.
“We are husband and wife after all, how could I bear to threaten you?” Wang Chunfu looked innocent, his delicate white fingers covering the woman’s cheek like a snake’s tongue. “I’m just analyzing the pros and cons with you.”
"Get out!" Su Sui slapped the man's hand away, her gentle almond-shaped eyes suddenly filled with hatred.
