The moonlight was bright, illuminating the center of the open space with the still-burning campfire, making it almost impossible to see anything. Wei Jianjia watched as lines of blood sprayed from mid-air onto the campfire, and then, a severed arm fell to the ground.
In the blink of an eye, the fabric on the severed arm was completely burned away by the flames, and the air was filled with the smell of burning flesh.
The guards' wails, along with the crackling of the flames, struck my heart like drumbeats.
"Ugh!" Wei Jianjia froze on the spot, feeling a churning in her stomach.

Outside the carriage, the leader of the Wei family guards jumped out of the carriage upon hearing the commotion. When he saw the two subordinates with their arms cut off by the campfire, his eyes instantly turned cold.
