"Miss Su?" Doctor Zhou turned around at the sound of footsteps and looked at the girl next to Xiao Chunhua, but he could hardly recognize her.
She was wearing a pink floor-length dress, her long black hair was tied up high with a wooden hairpin, which made her neck look even longer and her figure more voluptuous. Her fair cheeks were flushed with a faint blush, and she looked radiant.
The skirt was embroidered with clusters of petals whose names I didn't know.
With each graceful step, her movements created a beautiful arc.
She was the epitome of a wealthy family's daughter.
Compared to the massive black bear he had seen ten days earlier, whose every step shook the earth, there was absolutely no connection between them.
"Cough!" A chilling voice echoed from the edge of the fence.
Fang pulled his wandering thoughts back to the present.
He subconsciously looked toward the source of the sound and was met with a pair of deep eyes.
In an instant, it felt as if two sharp blades were scraping against my body.
The slap made him shudder, and he quickly lowered his head.
"So this is Doctor Zhou. I've often heard Hua'er mention him. Come in and have a cup of tea." Madam Su glanced at Xiao Jinhan standing by the courtyard wall, her smile almost overflowing.
She's been through it all; she can easily see through this kid's intentions.
Even this old man gets jealous if he looks at Hua'er a few times; he clearly has feelings for her.
"Oh, thank you for your trouble, Madam Su." Doctor Zhou tightened his medicine box and hurriedly followed Madam Su toward the main room, showing none of the ease he had shown at the Meng family not long ago.
Just as he was about to cross the threshold, he stopped abruptly, a hint of embarrassment on his face.
"Madam Su, I'll sit here."
Su Hua smiled slightly, moved a chair out of the main room, and took out a small bamboo tube from her bosom. She dipped her fingertip in water and sprinkled it lightly on the top of Doctor Zhou's head. In the blink of an eye, the stench on his body was gone.
"What kind of medicine is Miss Su holding? I've never seen it before."
As the stench dissipated, Doctor Zhou's mind gradually cleared, and he gestured to the young apprentice to bring over the two packets of pastries he had brought.
She was particularly interested in the small bamboo tube in Su Hua's hand.
"It's good that Madam Zhou is here, there's no need to be so polite!" Su Hua smiled as she accepted the pastries and had Xiao Chunhua take them to Madam Su Bai.
She was very generous and handed the small bamboo tube to the old man, saying, "This is not some kind of medicine, but just a flower dew made from some wildflowers from the back mountain. It's nothing special."
Old Doctor Zhou took the bamboo tube, held it to his nose and took a deep breath. He felt a rich fragrance of herbs and trees flow straight into his lungs. At that moment, the stench of feces that he had picked up at the Meng family's house finally disappeared completely.
However, upon hearing that it wasn't medicine, Dr. Zhou's worries subsided considerably.
Outside the fence of Old Su's house, a group of villagers who had come to watch the excitement with the horse-drawn carriage were in an uproar.
"I didn't see wrong just now, did I? This old doctor Zhou actually gave a gift to the Su family's little girl!"
"Everyone knows that Dr. Zhou stopped making house calls more than ten years ago, and he has never given any patients anything as a gift."
"The way Doctor Zhou is treating Hua Yatou doesn't seem like a doctor treating a patient; it's more like a student asking a teacher for guidance!"
"That's impossible! Doctor Zhou is the most skilled doctor in our Cangwu Town. What could a little girl like Hua possibly teach him..."
At the outermost edge of the crowd, a girl in green, following at a distance, stared intently at the old man and the young man in the courtyard, a hint of sarcasm spreading across her face.
She wanted to see just how many tricks Su Hua could pull.
Su Hua touched her earlobe and realized for the first time that having all five senses at their peak wasn't necessarily a good thing; her ears were practically burning from listening to all that.
Old Doctor Zhou stroked his goatee and looked at the girl opposite him, pondering, "I actually came here today to treat someone from your village, but his injuries are quite strange, something I have never seen before."
"How is it strange?" Su Hua raised an eyebrow.
"The man said his wrist was injured by a dog in the village." Doctor Zhou frowned. "But to me, it doesn't look like a common fracture or a typical dislocation. I really don't know where to begin."
"Was stepped on by a dog?" Su Hua's smile faltered slightly.
My ears were getting increasingly hot.
She pursed her lips. "Dr. Zhou wasn't here to treat the Meng family's injuries, was he?"
"Miss Su, you've also visited the Meng family?" Upon hearing this, Doctor Zhou's brows relaxed slightly. "Does Miss Su know why the Meng family boy's hand injury is so strange, and how it can be cured?"
Su Hua's face fell, and she shrugged.
“I haven’t seen it, but I stepped on Meng Fu’s wrist.”
"What?!" Doctor Zhou exclaimed in shock, "You're the dog the Meng family was talking about???"
Su Hua rolled her eyes at the old man: "...!!!"
"No, that's not what I meant. I meant Miss Su is amazing!" The old man quickly chuckled, a tuft of white goatee now in his hand. "I've been wondering what kind of person could inflict such a clever injury. It turns out it was Miss Meng. No wonder!"
Su Hua's lips twitched, and a sly glint flashed in her almond-shaped eyes. "Actually, it's not difficult for Doctor Zhou to injure such a clever injury or to treat such an injury. He just needs to memorize all the meridians, acupoints, and points in the human body."
"All the meridians, acupoints, and meridians in the human body?" Doctor Zhou exclaimed in surprise.
The gazes directed at Su Hua were filled with shock.
Meridians, acupoints, and acupoints all fall under the category of the long-lost silver needle acupuncture.
During the reign of Yu the Great, the medical practitioners always relied on observation, listening, questioning, and palpation to diagnose and treat illnesses, prescribing medicine and dispensing medication. They had only heard fragments of information about acupuncture and never had any systematic knowledge of it, let alone the meridians and acupoints of the human body.
