"Whoa—"
The servant on horseback was so frightened when someone suddenly jumped out from the middle of the mountain road that he quickly grabbed the reins.
The white horse, in pain, kicked its hooves and came to a stop just in front of the girl.
Perhaps startled, the horse's mouth suddenly twitched, and it snorted loudly, then exhaled a stream of white gas.
It was sprayed all over Meng Yun'er's face.
"Ah...it stinks!" Meng Yun'er was so shocked that her face turned pale. In her haste to avoid it, she twisted her foot and fell down on the mountain road.
"This..." The servant was taken aback.
It was just a little bit of horse gas, how did this person fall to the ground like that?
"What happened up ahead?" Qin Yucheng raised his hand to lift the carriage curtain, looking at the green figure on the road with some confusion.
Without waiting for the servant's reply.
Meng Yun'er clutched her ankle and cried out softly, "Ah, it hurts so much, my leg hurts so much."
Qin Yucheng frowned slightly and glanced at the servant on the carriage shaft.
The latter waved his hands repeatedly, "Young master, this woman suddenly appeared in the middle of the road. I definitely didn't bump into her. It was Xiaobai who exhaled a breath of air, and she just fell to the ground."
Upon hearing this, Meng Yun'er spoke up considerately, "Young master, there's no need to worry. I fell on my own; it has nothing to do with you."
Her watery eyes shifted slightly, and her voice became even gentler, "May I ask who you've come to see in our Shanghe Village, young master?"
Qin Yucheng's eyes brightened slightly. "May I ask, young lady, where does Miss Su Hua of the Su family live?"
A few days ago, Su Hua saved him in front of Zhou's pharmacy. He didn't have time to thank her. After returning to Qingyuan County, his mother's health did not improve.
This delay has led to the present day.
Moreover, he left in such a hurry last time that he forgot to ask Su Hua's name and address. If he hadn't gone to the Zhou family pharmacy to ask Doctor Zhou, he probably wouldn't have been able to come to Shanghe Village.
"Su Hua?!" Meng Yun'er's smile faltered slightly. "May I ask what business you have with Su Hua, young master?"
"Do you know where she lives?" Qin Yucheng jumped off the carriage, his hands behind his back. "Miss Su saved me a few days ago, and I didn't have a chance to thank her. I came here specifically to express my gratitude."
"Su Hua saved you?" Meng Yun'er looked up suddenly, her face full of disbelief.
Just then, the carriage curtain was half-lifted as the boy moved, and Meng Yun'er immediately saw that the carriage was filled with all sorts of exquisitely packaged gifts, with several beautiful bolts of brocade on the outside. It was clear at a glance that they were all very valuable.
These things were all given to Su Hua?
How is that possible?
How could Su Hua, that fat, ugly idiot, possibly save someone?
Moreover, the person they saved was such a wealthy young master!
One day it was snails, yesterday it was wild boar, and today it's a young nobleman.
How come that idiot Su Hua is so lucky!
Meng Yun'er bit her lip tightly, feeling as if she had been suddenly pushed into a vat of vinegar, with sour steam bubbling up from head to toe.
"What?" Qin Yucheng's expression turned slightly grim.
This woman must have some kind of problem; he made himself very clear.
She still couldn't understand.
Is your head half-filled with water?
Meng Yun'er's lips twitched slightly, and a gentle smile returned to her full moon-like face. "Yun'er and Sister Hua'er have been close friends since childhood. Why don't you let Yun'er take the young master to find Hua'er?"
"Alright!" Qin Yucheng waved his hand.
Upon hearing that she was Su Hua's close friend, her attitude became even more intimate.
"The horse at home is being naughty and bumped into you, young lady. Are you still able to walk? Is your leg alright?"
Meng Yun'er shook her head, her face pale, and bit her lip lightly, "My ankle hurts a lot, I'm afraid I twisted it."
"Ah Cai, come and help the young lady." Qin Yucheng called out, then turned and got into the carriage.
Meng Yun'er's raised hand stiffened slightly.
He could only nod.
"Girl, be careful." Ah Cai rolled up his sleeves and helped Meng Yun'er towards the car through his sleeves, his heart filled with unease.
If he were to suddenly fall again, I'm afraid my young master might not be able to walk.
"Thank you, young man." Meng Yun'er felt a surge of warmth in her heart, and the corners of her mouth curled up slightly. Although her Meng family was the wealthiest family in Shanghe Village, and her father was even known as the Little Master, her family had never had a servant, let alone anyone who served her like this.
However, when she discovered that Ah Cai was helping her sit on the carriage shaft, rather than inside the carriage, she was surprised.
Her smile faltered.
"Miss, may I ask how to get to the Su family's place?" Ah Cai asked, puzzled that Meng Yun'er hadn't said a word for a while.
Meng Yun'er paused for a moment, then pointed ahead, "Just keep going straight ahead. The mountain road is difficult to travel, so please drive slowly and don't make the young master feel bumpy."
Before she could finish speaking, Qin Yucheng's voice came from the carriage.
"Ah Cai, hurry up and make sure everything is alright."
"Yes," Ah Cai replied softly.
With a pull on the reins, Little White galloped off.
The clatter of hooves was particularly noticeable on the quiet path, attracting the attention of those working in the fields.
"Screech—" The horse's hoof suddenly stepped on a stone.
The entire carriage was jolted and shaken.
Meng Yun'er's eyes rolled slightly, and she rolled backward.
She rolled straight into the carriage, and when she looked up, she was met with that elegant and handsome face. As she got closer, she noticed that the sky-blue silk robe was scented with some kind of fragrance, the clean and delicate scent of which was intoxicating.
This caused Meng Yun'er's pretty face to blush.
It blushed all the way down to the base of her neck.
The image of Feng Zicai suddenly appeared in the girl's mind.
However, compared to the noble young man before him, Feng Zicai was worlds apart; the noble young man before him was like an immortal who did not partake of worldly affairs.
If she could be with this young master, why would she need to worry so much about a simple snail recipe in the future?
