Life is a dream (7)

Life is a dream (7)

Strength is respected on the floating island, and he has no parents. I don’t know how much hardship he has endured to reach his current position.

"Since everyone has no objection, we will depart for Cangyun City today. The other three elders and I will enter the Lou family with our visiting card."

Feng Ran said loudly, but he didn't finish the rest of the words, but Xu Xing knew what he meant.

Xu Xing is now just an ordinary disciple of Yiziyuan and will not attract the attention of the person behind the scenes, so he is most suitable for quiet investigation.

The five people in the hall quickly finalized the plan. When they left Minguang Hall, Xie Feng and Xu Xing, who were standing at the door, looked at each other.

Xie Feng never liked Xu Xing, but after Feng Ran explained to him, he looked at him unexpectedly.

Xu Xing just smiled slightly at this.

"Go back and pack up, and go to Cangyun City with us tomorrow. Your cultivation is decent, so you can explore with Xu Xing." Feng Ran patted Xie Feng's shoulder and whispered.

Xie Feng nodded with a cold face.

Feng Ran and the other three elders had other details to discuss, so they hurried away. Besides the disciples guarding the gate, they were the only two left at the entrance to Mingguang Hall.

Xu Xing walked back first, and Xie Feng followed.

Hearing footsteps behind him, Xu Xing turned around and saw Xie Feng with a cold expression, as if he had something to say.

"Brother Xie, please come in." He bowed to Xie Feng.

Both knew that the investigation needed to be kept secret, so they found a secluded place to talk.

Xie Feng stood straight, wearing his yellow and white Taoist robe neatly, looking like a typical disciple of the righteous path.

Xu Xing was much more casual, with his Taoist robe draped loosely over his shoulders, the goose-yellow headband in his hair slightly loose, the silver threads at the bottom swaying in the wind, forming a sharp contrast to Xie Feng's meticulously neat hair.

Xie Feng had a blank expression on his face, while Xu Xing was smiling.

"I always feel that my senior brother has some inexplicable hostility towards me." Xu Xing spoke first, speaking very slowly, and his deliberately intimate tone made the sentence have a hint of sarcasm.

Xie Feng was not a fool, so he could naturally hear the hidden meaning in his words and sneered.

"The plan for going to Cangyun City tomorrow is already very clear. I guess Brother came to me privately to discuss something else." Xu Xing leaned against the tree trunk somewhat bonelessly, staring at the slowly falling leaves, and said nonchalantly.

Xie Feng was silent for a moment, then glanced at him with his dark eyes and said, "Didn't you say you found Ah Yue's whereabouts?"

Oh, it turned out to be his junior sister who cared about him.

The smile on Xu Xing's face faded a bit, and he even felt a little inexplicably irritated. He didn't know where this feeling came from. He stood up straight and said, "We'll know when we go to the Lou family tomorrow to investigate. Brother, don't worry."

Xie Feng sneered: "Thank you very much. I will come to visit you and thank you in person after I find Ah Yue."

The four words "thank you personally" made Xu Xing even more anxious, and the smile on his face faded.

"I'm leaving first." Xie Feng glanced at him and turned away.

Xu Xing didn't say anything for a long time. Then the sound of dead leaves breaking came from the woods.

"Visiting in person? Who do you think you are?" He sneered and stomped his shoes hard on the ground, as if Xie Feng's face was painted on it, and he could vent his anger by doing this.

The shrill sound lasted for a long time before it finally subsided.

The forest was dark, and scattered sunlight fell through the gaps between the leaves and landed between his drooping eyelashes.

Xu Xing suddenly remembered that day, also in the woods, when the warm hands passed through his hair, bringing an indescribable shudder. The girl smiled and said she would give him a hairband.

As he lowered his head, the hairband on his head fell down and swayed around his ears. Xu Xing grabbed the naughty hairband and gently wrapped it around his fingertips, spinning it.

*

The room was dark. Li Zhaoyue's throat was tight as he stared at the man in front of him with red eyes and a withered face.

There was still a suspicious red tinge at the corners of his mouth. When he opened his mouth, his teeth were exposed, some of which were covered in blood, as if he had just eaten someone.

Li Zhaoyue was terrified and moved his fingers slightly. A powerful force suddenly emerged and knocked the man to the ground.

The man let out a muffled growl and struggled to get up from the ground.

She slapped the man to the ground with one palm, stepped on his back, and a faint light flashed at her fingertips. A stream of light quickly entered the man's eyebrows. After a moment, the man on the ground stopped moving.

She began to observe the room.

The walls were covered in blood. There was a screen between the study and the bedroom. There was a strange-shaped formation painted on the ground. She had just stepped on it when a white light flashed before her eyes.

Li Zhaoyue woke up suddenly, and what came into his sight was the cold white moonlight. In the center of the garden full of flowers, Lou Daoyan was dancing in a very twisted posture.

"You're awake." Seeing her frightened look, he stopped and ran towards her happily.

Li Zhaoyue had just experienced the dream, and was like a frightened bird. He stretched out his hand and grabbed Lou Daoyan's neck, pinching him until his face turned red and he had difficulty breathing. Only then did he realize what he had done.

Her eyes darted around in panic, she gasped for breath, and kept backing away.

"Cough, cough, cough." Lou Daoyan was thrown away by her. He coughed with tears in the corners of his eyes and looked at her with difficulty and said, "What's wrong with you?"

"You... don't come over!" Li Zhaoyue didn't know what happened to him. It seemed that in that instant he had turned into the woman in his dream.

Lou Daoyan still had the mind of a child. Seeing that she didn't like him, he pouted in grievance and sat on the ground looking at her pitifully.

Li Zhaoyue felt uncomfortable being looked at like that, and gasped, "I... dreamed of some bad things."

"Have you seen Azhi?" he asked.

"What do you mean?" Li Zhaoyue was stunned and asked.

"I'm going to take you to see something." As he said this, Lou Daoyan was about to run over to hold her hand. Remembering that he had knocked her unconscious before, Li Zhaoyue took a step back and looked at him warily.

"Were you angry that I knocked you out before? But this is the only way to see Azhi." Lou Daoyan felt very aggrieved, as if he had to knock her out and he was just being kind.

Li Zhaoyue still looked at him warily.

Lou Daoyan sighed, kept a certain distance from her, and said, "Is this okay? I really won't knock you out again."

Li Zhaoyue had recovered somewhat now, his head no longer numb. Hearing this, he stammered, "You can't lie to me."

"Mom said good children can't lie, and I am a good child." He smiled with his eyes narrowed.

The boy was thin and weak, but he looked like an adult. Lou Daoyan's words were really inconsistent with his appearance.

Li Zhaoyue was still not very wary, so he followed him forward after hearing what he said.

Lou Daoyan brought her to a dilapidated house, pointed at the red silk hanging on the door, and said with a silly smile: "This is the house I used to live in. There is a very interesting thing in it. Let me show you."

Li Zhaoyue glanced at the red silk. There seemed to be some talismans on it, which looked like something Zhu Ming had shown her before. Before she could take a closer look, she heard Yan's shouting from the corridor inside the house.

She hurried into the house, and as soon as she entered, she saw a red light flashing in the narrow room. Looking at the ground, she could vaguely see a formation drawn.

"This thing is magical. As long as you sit in the center of the formation at night, someone will appear." Lou Daoyan smiled foolishly and walked towards the center of the formation while talking.

Li Zhaoyue took another look at the formation and suddenly felt something was wrong. She squatted down and carefully swept away the dust on the ground.

The thick dust obscured some details, so much so that she couldn't recognize at first glance that the formation was exactly the same as the one in her dream!

She suddenly had a bad premonition and wanted to pull the stairs to Yan, but it was too late.

The door slammed shut, the moonlight quickly faded, and a dazzling red light filled the entire hut. Lou Daoyan sat in the center of the formation, scratching his head in confusion.

“I don’t remember it being like this before…”

Li Zhaoyue felt that everything that had happened since arriving here was like a dream, a dream filled with terror and blood. This was also the first time she had encountered such a situation, and she thought that pulling Lou Daoyan out of the formation would be the end of it.

Unexpectedly, Loudaoyan grabbed her instead.

The young man sitting in the center of the formation had bright eyes, no longer as naive as before. His eyes were calm, but upon closer inspection, they showed a hint of excitement and frenzy.

This strange look only lasted for a moment. When Li Zhaoyue came to his senses, Lou Daoyan had returned to his silly look.

"Why is it different today?" He muttered, walked out of the center of the formation, shook Li Zhaoyue's hand again, and said excitedly: "Azhi said she likes you very much, so we are very good friends." He danced as he spoke.

Li Zhaoyue nodded dazedly and asked, "I've already accompanied you to see Azhi. Can you tell me how to get out of here? I want to go home."

After saying that, she lowered her head in frustration, tiptoed on the ground, and said in a muffled voice: "The nightmare just now was so strange. Are you sure Azhi likes me very much? If she liked me, I wouldn't have had a nightmare..."

When she finished saying this and looked up again, the noisy Tongdao Yan had disappeared out of thin air. Everything happened so quickly, as if the person who was talking to her just now had never existed from the beginning to the end.

She couldn't help but feel a chill down her spine.

"Are you looking for Loudaoyan?" A female voice suddenly appeared behind him. Li Zhaoyue was frightened and turned around suddenly, seeing a woman in a red dress walking out of the shadows.

Her face was covered with a veil, she was tall, and she walked lightly. In a short while, she was in front of Li Zhaoyue.

"You... who are you?" Li Zhaoyue recognized her as the woman in red whom he saw before he fell into the dream, and asked weakly.

The woman raised her eyebrows slightly, did not answer her question, but looked at her meaningfully.

"What are you looking at me for?" she asked again.

For some reason, although this woman looked ill-intentioned, Li Zhaoyue felt a sense of closeness to her for no reason.

"Everyone in Yiziyuan is looking for you now." said the woman.

"Then I have to go back even more," Li Zhaoyue said anxiously, "I always cause trouble for them."

As she said this, she was about to run out of the house.

At this moment, the woman in red spoke again: "If the old you saw the foolish me now, you would probably die of anger on the spot."

This is a strange thing to say. What does it mean to be the original self?

Li Zhaoyue looked at her puzzledly.

The girl, wearing a goose yellow dress, looks very harmless and enjoys endless love and care. No matter what she does, her master will back her up. She can live a peaceful life without knowing anything and doing anything.

The woman in red lowered her head and smiled, her laughter carrying a hint of coldness.

"Why do you only speak half of your words? Can you please speak clearly?" Li Zhaoyue took a big step forward in a hurry and was about to grab her sleeve.

But I caught nothing.

She looked at the sleeve in horror, which was so close yet she couldn't grab it, and shouted, "Who the hell are you?!"

The woman in red sighed lightly and walked forward slowly, her red sleeves gradually blending into Li Zhaoyue.

"Li Zhaoyue, do you know how long I have been waiting for this day? If you never come, where can I find such a useful body?" The woman's body gradually disappeared, and the red was finally swallowed up by goose yellow. Li Zhaoyue's expression also paused for a moment.
