Mirror Flower Water Moon (9)

Mirror Flower Water Moon (9)

The air was thick with black smoke and the moonlight was dim. Li Zhaoyue woke up from his dream and looked into the room suddenly, but found no one there.

Most of the content of the dream was no longer clear, but she still remembered Xu Xing, so she hurriedly got out of bed and began to look around.

"Xu Xing? Is that you?" She ran barefoot from one end of the room to the other, shouting as she ran.

There was no response.

Li Zhaoyue returned to the bed dejectedly and threw himself on it.

"It's just a dream." She comforted herself, rolled up the quilt again and closed her eyes.

There was a rustling sound on the bed, accompanied by the girl's steady breathing.

She fell asleep.

Only then did Xu Xing dare to crawl out from under the bed and stand beside it.

His expression was complicated as he stared at her peaceful sleeping face motionlessly, then he turned around and walked out the window.

The courtyard was very quiet. The moonlight shone coldly onto his face. Xu Xing glanced at the silver thread on his wrist and turned away.

Although the Feng Shui Academy was on holiday, other academies were not, so Xie Feng still had to go to the Art Academy for classes. Before leaving, Zhu Ming specifically told Xie Feng to keep an eye on Li Zhaoyue, so early in the morning, Xie Feng went into the Qingfeng Academy and took Li Zhaoyue, who was still sleeping in, to the Art Academy.

It was noon. In the pavilion in the backyard of the Art Court, Xie Feng was making tea. Li Zhaoyue looked listless, looking around and yawning.

"This tea can calm your mind and nourish your spirit. If you drink more, you will have fewer nightmares." Xie Feng said as he handed her a cup of tea.

Li Zhaoyue took the teacup and just after taking a sip, he spat it all out.

"It's so bitter!" she said with a sad face.

"Good medicine tastes bitter. This is a prescription I specially asked the elder to prescribe. Although it is a little bitter, it is better than drinking medicine." Xie Feng explained patiently and refilled her cup of tea.

Li Zhaoyue frowned and took another sip. It took him a long time to suppress the bitter taste in his mouth.

"Even though we have holidays these few days, don't slack off. Although the master doesn't force you to study, strength is still respected on the floating island. If you don't have strength, you will be bullied. The master and I can't protect you forever..." Xie Feng was still persuading him earnestly, but Li Zhaoyue's attention was attracted by the green figure in the distance.

It’s Xu Xing.

How did he appear in the court?

In the distance, a group of sword-wielding kendo disciples surrounded Xu Xing. They were talking about something, but all had smug expressions on their faces. Xu Xing had a calm expression and just stood there silently.

The arrogance and rudeness of the sword disciples have long been well-known throughout the Yizi Academy. Xu Xing was kicked out of the Art Academy before, and now he is surrounded by this group of people with bad intentions, who might be here to bully him.

Li Zhaoyue put the teacup on the table with a bang and walked straight towards the group of people.

"How dare you go back to the Art Court?" The leading man, dressed in luxurious clothes and with a face full of flesh, glanced at Xu Xing with contempt and said.

In the first round of kendo competition, he lost to Xu Xing, and lost miserably, but in the end he entered the art court while Xu Xing did not, which made him proud for a while.

Xu Xing just glanced at him indifferently, his eyes full of tolerance for fools.

"Why aren't you talking? Are you mute?" He roared, taking a step forward to pull the clothes from Xu Xing's throat. Xu Xing had already clenched the silver thread in his hand. He smiled lightly at his words and said contemptuously, "I won't talk to a beast that doesn't understand human language."

These words completely enraged the man, who roared and was about to come forward to beat him up. The people standing behind him all looked like they were watching a show. Some even thought the situation was not serious enough and started to jeer, "This kid is looking down on you, Master Zheng, but he's just a defeated opponent of yours. If you don't beat up such an arrogant person, who else should you beat up?"

Hearing this, Zheng Hai became even more furious and even had the urge to draw his sword.

Seeing that something was wrong, Xu Xing quickly slid back. The green headband tied at the back of his head was hooked by the sword and fell to the ground. His black hair immediately fell apart, making his appearance even more handsome, cold and gentle.

"Why are you fighting like a woman?" The person who fanned the flames laughed, and then the whole group of people started laughing.

Xu Xing recognized the speaker as Lou Daoye of the Lou family. He turned around and dodged Zheng Hai's attack. He raised an eyebrow and said, "Your brother has gone crazy, and the Lou family is in trouble. You'd better be careful with your words and actions, otherwise you will have no one to rely on if the Lou family collapses in the future."

After saying that, he slapped Zheng Hai on the back of the head, causing the man to roll his eyes and foam at the mouth.

"You!" Lou Daoye was so angry at his words that he swung his sword at him regardless of the people behind him trying to dissuade him.

For Xu Xing, this soft attack was not even worth his attention, but he saw Li Zhaoyue out of the corner of his eye.

She seemed to be in a hurry and ran quickly with her skirt lifted.

A plan came to his mind, Xu Xing smiled at Lou Fangye, and collided head-on with his sword.

For a moment, everyone was shocked.

Lou Daoye got into the Art Court entirely through his family connections. He was a complete scoundrel. Xu Xing beat him so hard during the selection that he screamed in pain. How could he be hurt by him?

The tip of the sword pierced into the flesh, and when it was pulled out, it brought out a dazzling blood color. Before Lou Fangye could feel proud, he was trembling all over because of the countless talismans coming towards him.

"Senior Brother Lou!" Everyone shouted and hurried to help him, but they heard an angry shout.

"Who dares to help!" Li Zhaoyue held a thick stack of talisman paper in his right hand, his eyes wide open, glaring at the group of people.

Some people recognized her and lowered their heads in silence. Some ignorant people saw the Feng Shui Institute badge on Li Zhaoyue's waist and wanted to step forward to mock her, but were quickly pulled back by the rest of the people.

"Why are you showing off? She's Li Zhaoyue!"

Hearing this, everyone lowered their heads and stood aside timidly, except for the two people who fell to the ground and were unconscious.

Li Zhaoyue helped the injured Xu Xing up and looked at the wound on his chest with heartache. Unable to bear it any longer, he said, "The sword disciples of the Art Court have been so arrogant for a long time. What gives you the right to be so arrogant? If you have nothing to do on weekdays, why don't you find someone to spar with? There are so many powerful sword disciples. Why do you have to pick a fight with our Feng Shui Court? Do you know that you are not strong enough?"

She was usually good-tempered and seldom spoke like that, but today she got angry because of Xu Xing.

Xie Feng, who came along and saw this scene, had a hint of surprise in his eyes.

"Take your men down to treat the injuries first, and leave this here to me."

Xie Feng stepped into the crowd with a cold face and protected Li Zhaoyue behind him.

The wound on Xu Xing's shoulder was still bleeding and looked very serious. Li Zhaoyue said to be careful and supported Xu Xing towards the pavilion.

"Yi Zi Yuan's rules state that anyone who relies on their strength to bully the weak will be punished with fifty strokes of the cane and imprisoned in the forbidden area for one month."

Xie Feng's words alone made the group of disciples tremble with fear and remain silent.

"If you do it again, you will be expelled from the court."

Xie Feng deliberately emphasized the second half of his words. Seeing that they were still standing there, he sneered, "Why, do you still want me to ask you to accept the punishment?"

Hearing this, the group of disciples pushed each other and walked away grumblingly. Xie Feng then walked towards the pavilion.

After regaining consciousness, Lou Daoye kicked a disciple, who almost lost his balance. In a panic, he grabbed a random disciple and yelled, "If you hadn't been the one to stir up trouble just now, how could Senior Brother Zheng have been injured!"

"Yes, it's all your fault, you idiot. Otherwise, Senior Brother Zheng and Senior Brother Lou wouldn't have suffered this disaster." Someone boldly agreed.

The disciple who was being blamed stood aside timidly, without any trace of his previous arrogance, and said in fear: "It's not... It's not like that..."

Zheng Hai struggled to get up from the ground, spat out the blood foam in his mouth, and looked at the disciple coldly. He said casually: "Since all this is caused by you, I will not bear grudges. As long as you voluntarily withdraw from the Art Court, I will not pursue your fault."

"Otherwise," Zheng Hai grinned, revealing his bloodied teeth. "I don't know what I could have done."

Zheng Hai was born into the Zheng family, the richest family on the Floating Island. Although he was a side branch relative, a lean camel is bigger than a horse. The name of the Zheng family is enough to crush ordinary people.

This group of people don't care about the truth at all, they just want to find someone to vent their anger on.

The disciple knew that his future was hopeless, so he quietly retreated to the edge and stopped talking.

Lou Daoye leaned close to Zheng Hai's ear and said something with a smile on his face. After hearing it, Zheng Hai's face full of fat began to tremble.

"Are you serious?" he asked.

"It's absolutely true. We can't afford to offend Li Zhaoyue, but can we also handle Xu Xing? We can't accept this punishment from Senior Brother Xie for nothing."

After saying that, the two of them looked at each other, their faces full of pride and calculation.

In the pavilion nearby, Xu Xing smiled and said that his injury was fine, but Li Zhaoyue still forced him to take a lot of medicine.

Xie Feng frowned and pulled Li Zhaoyue away, saying, "He doesn't need that much medicine, it's enough. Also, Xu Xing, how did you provoke them?"

Hearing this, Xu Xing's eyes flashed with obvious sarcasm, and he asked, "Brother Xie, why are you so sure that I provoked them, rather than them deliberately picking on me?"

"Or maybe Senior Brother Xie is still upset about the previous competition?"

Xie Feng sneered, "Although Zheng Hai is domineering, he is also proud. Even though he lost to you in the entrance competition, it is absolutely impossible for him to attack you just because of this incident."

Although Zheng Hai is arrogant, he is cautious. Despite his bad reputation, he has never been caught by anyone.

This incident today also happened in a remote place in the Art Court. If Xie Feng had not loved quietness and insisted on coming here to make tea, there would definitely be no one else here, and no one would have discovered this incident.

Xu Xing looked directly into Xie Feng's eyes and suddenly smiled: "Why can't Senior Brother Xie trust me completely? I'm already hurt, why are you still looking at me with such suspicion? It hurts me too."

"Could it be that you think that group of disciples should bully me? I thought I had no previous disputes with you, right?"

Xu Xing's words seemed to be laced with poison. Xie Feng snorted coldly, turned his head away and stopped talking.

Li Zhaoyue was caught between the two people, in a dilemma.

She reached out and gently tugged at Xie Feng's sleeve, but he didn't move. She turned around and tugged at Xu Xing's sleeve, but he smiled and said nothing.

"Why do you always quarrel as soon as you meet?" Li Zhaoyue said helplessly because he had no other choice.

"I need to ask Senior Brother Xie why he always thinks of doubting me." Xu Xing casually picked up the teacup on the table, looked at the tea inside, and said, "The tea brewing skills are not very good."

Li Zhaoyue was startled when he heard this. He quickly stood up, sat next to Xie Feng, and pinched his sleeve worriedly.

Xie Feng shook his head at her, indicating that he was fine.

Li Zhaoyue glared at Xu Xing, picked up the tea on the table, took a sip, and said, "Who said this tea is not brewed well? This is the tea that Afeng brewed for me personally. I like it the most."

Seeing their intimate behavior, Xu Xing's lips were tightly tightened into a line and his smile faded a little.

"Really?" Xu Xing took a sip of the tea and looked at Li Zhaoyue. "I remember Senior Sister didn't like bitter drinks."

Li Zhaoyue was stunned for a moment.

"Sister, you like sweets, right? Why do you have to praise this tea so much? Some things are just not good, there is no reason. If you can't bear it, you have to endure it." Xu Xing put the teacup heavily on the table, looked at Xie Feng with a smile, and then stood up.

"Where are you going?" Li Zhaoyue hurriedly stopped him.

Xie Feng's expression was somewhat gloomy, and his eyes were colder than ever before.

"Where am I going?" He repeated her words in a low voice, sneering, "You might as well care about your Ah Feng. His face is as black as the bottom of a pot when I see him."

After saying that, he turned away.

Li Zhaoyue wanted to chase after him, but was stopped by Xie Feng.

"Don't you think his behavior is very strange? You should avoid contact with people like him, Yue..."

"But, Afeng," Li Zhaoyue interrupted him, unable to hide the anxiety in her eyes, "I've already comforted you."

Xie Feng was stunned.

"But I didn't have time to tell him not to be angry. He must have thought I blamed him."

"Ayue, that's not what I meant to you."

"But I hope this is what you mean," Li Zhaoyue looked him straight in the eye. "Xu Xing is not that kind of person. I hope you, Senior Brother, can be less suspicious in the future. Or, if you really hate him, you can blame me."

After saying that, she followed the green figure and chased after it, lifting her skirt.

Xie Feng frowned, looking at Li Zhaoyue who was chasing Xu Xing, and tightly gripped the teacup in his hand.

Xu was walking along the tree-lined path, with waves of evil fire rising in his heart.

Xie Feng has been suspicious of him for a long time. This time it was clearly someone else's fault. It would be fine if Xie Feng suspected him, but why did Li Zhaoyue defend Xie Feng?

And smiled at him.

He kicked a stone on the road expressionlessly and became even angrier.

"Xu Xing, wait a minute!" A familiar voice came from behind.

Xu Xing turned around and saw Li Zhaoyue running towards him.

She seemed to be in a hurry. The golden hairpin in her hair had become a little loose, and the tassels hung loosely on her hair. The goose yellow hem of her dress spread out in large chunks as she ran, like clouds in the sky at sunset.

Her round eyes drooped listlessly until she saw him, then they lit up.

"Why did you catch up with me, Senior Sister?" He heard his own harsh voice.

"I'm here to apologize to you." Li Zhaoyue said.
