Chapter 36 Kill Her

Chapter 36 Kill Her

It's utterly ridiculous.

Cyrus stood there stunned, taking several seconds to realize that what Ling Qiu said was true.

What gives her the right? How dare a mere human break up with Him?

"Why do you think I'll listen to you?" Cyrus retorted, his teeth even unconsciously grinding as he spoke. Staring at Ling Qiu, an unprecedented rage surged within him.

"What's wrong?" Ling Qiu opened her eyes, her gaze icy cold. "You're not reluctant to let go, are you? You don't actually think I like you, do you? You need to face reality, Cyrus. You're just a toy I played with for a moment. Do you even remember you're an ugly monster? Nobody likes a monster."

At the same time, Ling Qiu was also tormented by a great negative emotion. She looked at Cyrus listlessly. She should hate this monster. He actually only accepted Noah Company's transactions. He actually rejected her. But when she actually drove him away, she found that she felt more heavy-hearted than disgusted.

It felt as if a stone was weighing her down, making it hard for her to breathe.

All she knew was that she desperately wanted Him to leave; she didn't want to see Him again.

Neither Himself nor the human skin He wore.

When Ling Qiu became cold, she was ruthless in her words. Of course, she didn't think the monster could be hurt by her words.

She only wanted one outcome: either get out of her house or kill her.

"After playing the human role for a few days, have you really become immersed in it? Cyrus, people like toys, but they say 'I love you' to their loved ones. Have I ever told you I love you?" Ling Qiu sneered. "You don't think that just because you put on an act in front of me, I'll actually believe your tricks, do you? You came to me with an ulterior motive from the very beginning. Do you think I don't know that?"

If there were a mirror right now, Cyrus would really like to see his own expression.

His gaze was subdued, but the corners of his mouth were downturned; he looked both angry and aggrieved.

He knew that humans, such inferior beings, were not worth it at all.

From the very beginning, He was clearly certain of this. From the very beginning, He had clearly decided that the relationship between Him and Ling Qiu should be one of obedience. He should, like the examples of those in the tribe, mold the bride into a rag doll that would only obey.

Look at what He has done! He has done many foolish things.

He even got up very early that morning to cook witch's soup for her.

But what happened? She didn't even taste a single bite, but instead ate the rotten cookies that another man had given her.

That's disgusting.

Extreme anger stimulated Cyrus's nerves. Like a rampaging beast, he suddenly and swiftly grabbed Ling Qiu, tearing his human skin apart in an instant and exposing his pitch-black true form.

A devilish hand was tightly gripping Ling Qiu's neck.

He laughed in fury: "You're right, I really should kill you."

Destroy, tear apart, and then resurrect.

This is how a bride should be molded.

Faced with the enormous size difference, Ling Qiu's eyes widened slightly. She seemed to finally see the monster's true form. Its body could almost occupy the entire living room of her house, like a huge beast. She was pinned to the floor, and it seemed to intend to kill her.

But Lingqiu waited for a while, and the hand that was gripping her neck did not move.

"Clench your hands, and my neck will break, hahaha." Ling Qiu laughed out loud, staring into Cyrus's eyes. She had to admit that she had been waiting for this moment ever since she first saw this monster.

And now, this scene has finally arrived. She felt incredibly calm. She didn't know when it started, but she no longer felt any fear of Cyrus.

At worst, we can just kill her; she doesn't care.

In the darkness, only a chandelier on the dining table was lit, casting a dim yellow light. But when Cyrus erupted in fury, the room was instantly plunged into darkness, with only the neon lights from outside able to penetrate the windows.

Ling Qiu was still waiting, her eyes shining like a ball of fire.

"Go ahead and do it, what are you waiting for?" she asked calmly.

The enormous monster that was looming over her was so large that Ling Qiu couldn't even see its face clearly, let alone guess what it wanted to do.

Having come this far, are we still weighing the pros and cons?

Good question.

Cyrus was also wondering what He was waiting for.

He had clearly grasped her slender neck. Without even exerting any force, He could easily snap her neck. Then, depending on His mood, He could either destroy her soul or use it to create a puppet.

But Cyrus found that he couldn't bring himself to do it.

Even though the remaining process was so simple and clear, His consciousness was still preventing Him.

"Good," He murmured, "you win."

The next second, Ling Qiu's neck loosened, and the enormous monster disappeared before her eyes, leaving the room, which had just been packed with people, empty.

Ling Qiu sat up, remained silent for a while, then got up and locked the door.

He just left like that.

It's late at night now. Tomorrow morning, she needs to go to the woods near the kindergarten to see what her parents have left for her.

Ling Qiu lay down on the bed, ready to sleep, but she was still very awake. Her heart was heavy, and she couldn't fall asleep at all.

She let out a long sigh, turned on her computer, and wanted to find something to look at to try and fall asleep. But when she opened her Hilink account, she saw an unexpected message.

Li Jiale: "Could you help me find out more about this person?"

Ling Qiu opened the photo he sent. The photo showed a silver-haired man who looked to be around 30 years old. Ling Qiu scrolled through the previous chat history and found that this person was not one of the people who had visited Li Jiale's house before.

Ling Qiu had long since given up on taking this kind of job. She had previously blocked her boss and offended him badly, and now she had completely broken up with Cyrus.

To be honest, she doesn't plan to make any more money.

She only wanted to use the rest of her life to see if she could cause Noah any trouble, but Ling Qiu also knew her own limitations. A free agent like her could not possibly cripple or destroy a company like Noah.

But she was still curious: "Where did you get the photo? What's your relationship with this person?"

She thought it was late at night and Li Jiale wouldn't reply, but just as she was about to close the chat window, she received Li Jiale's reply.

“I don’t know,” he said. “Do you remember the people who came to my house last time?”

"Of course." Ling Qiu didn't expect him to bring it up on his own initiative.

“During this time, I tried to investigate them, but it was more difficult than I imagined. Apart from knowing their identities, I knew nothing about their background. But I discovered a problem: their chips all contained this photo, but I had never seen this person before.”

Ling Qiu scratched her head. It seemed that Li Jiale hadn't succumbed to fate as she had imagined.

“Although I really want to help you,” Ling Qiu said, “I’ve run into some trouble on my end. I can’t access the dark web anymore, so I can’t check anything.”

There was silence on Li Jiale's end for a while, quite a while, and Ling Qiu almost thought he wouldn't reply anymore. Just as she was about to turn off the computer, a few words appeared before her eyes.

"I can."

Li Jiale said, "I can give you access to an internal network."

"It's Noah's internal network. This person is definitely related to Noah."

Ling Qiu was stunned for a moment, then suddenly sat up straight.

"You mean you can let me into Noah's headquarters intranet?" Ling Qiu's previously calm mood suddenly jumped. If that's the case, then could she also use it to find something that she could use for her own benefit?

“That’s right.” Li Jiale gave an affirmative answer. “I have special privileges. I can let you in, but you have to be careful.”

Ling Qiu didn't want to ask how he got this privilege. She made a decision instantly and replied to Li Jiale, "Okay, I can do this order for you for free."

A few minutes later, Li Jiale sent her a special code and told her, "This has a time limit and requires my iris verification. Remember to use a fake IP address when you access it."

"I understand." After saying that, Ling Qiu couldn't wait to click on it. She skillfully used an invisible address and added multiple layers of protection to prevent anyone from noticing her browsing history, and used the gentlest method to break into Noah's headquarters' internal network.

When a dark blue interface appeared before her eyes, Ling Qiu was stunned. Wasn't this exactly the same image she had seen on her mother's computer when she went back in time?

Starting with the personnel screening, the first thing Ling Qiu saw was Noah's employee list. Soon after, she saw Lululan's photo and employee number. Then she noticed that the photos of these employees were in different colors.

At first, she thought the colors represented different positions, but when she saw a photo of a woman who worked as a receptionist with Lululan that was purple, while Lululan was red, she realized that the colors had nothing to do with positions.

Noah wouldn't have set these different colors for no reason; she felt that the colors probably represented something.

She began to observe the patterns in these colors. Starting from the bottom layer, the colors included green, blue, red, and purple, with various colors interspersed and almost without any pattern. However, the higher she went, the darker the colors became, until they turned into a uniform black.

Just when Ling Qiu thought this was probably related to some kind of contribution value, she noticed that the color had changed again, with a patch of green on top of the black.

Ling Qiu was a little confused.

She browsed through all the photos, but couldn't find the person Li Jiale had sent her. Just as she was about to delve deeper, an instinct made her nerves tense, and alarms went off in Ling Qiu's head. Then, she felt a distinct and intense gaze upon her.

The gaze was extremely hostile, carrying immense malice and even murderous intent. Before Ling Qiu could react, she immediately disconnected and hurriedly logged out of Noah's intranet.

When she came to her senses, Ling Qiu found her heart pounding wildly.

What was that just now?!

An intuition told Ling Qiu that what she had just witnessed was not a hallucination. It was as if a terrifying monster was hiding in Noah's internal network... or rather, it seemed that a terrifying monster was monitoring everything about Noah.

Ling Qiu slowly made a swallowing motion.

But another intuition told her that the monster shouldn't be Cyrus.
