Chapter 201 Director Yan Honglian

Director Wei took a drag of his cigarette before looking at the assistant director. "Have they finished editing?"

"I'll find you a laptop to look at," the assistant director said, and then went into a room next door.

After a while, he came out holding a notebook.

The assistant director found a spot to watch the edited footage with Director Wei.

"Let's watch the trailer first."

The assistant director opened a video labeled "Yan Yu - Peach Blossom Island".

This trailer wasn't cut from the footage; it was recorded by Director Wei with Xu Yanyu's cooperation.

At night, in a secluded valley filled with bamboo forests, Liu Jing, dressed in a white gauze dress and wearing a veil, stood.

She leaned against the only tree, playing an instrument.

The background music is "Peach Blossom Island".

The narrator introduces Liu Jing's identity. At the end of the music, she removes her veil, and the zither in her hand transforms into a sword.

She flew through the air on her sword, her figure light and graceful, like the purest ghost in the night, passing through the bamboo forest caressed by a thin mist.

The sword landed and drifted in front of her.

She stretched out her slender hand, gripped the sword tightly, and then quickly demonstrated a set of sword moves.

She transformed into a graceful butterfly, flitting through the bamboo forest, her movements so swift that only a faint glimmer of moonlight could be seen swirling around her clothes.

With a gentle wave of her hands, the sword blade contained immense power. Each graceful turn caused the surrounding air to tremble, bamboo leaves to flutter and transform into sharp green blades.

Sheathe your sword!

She stood quietly under the moonlight, surrounded by a faint, elegant, and aloof aura, like a fairy who had just descended from the heavens, untouched by worldly dust.

When the music ended, she gently patted her sleeves, turned around, and left.

The words "Liu Jing" appeared in the upper right corner of the screen.

"How is it?" the assistant director asked Director Wei.

Director Wei did not answer.

He reached for the laptop's touchpad, brought the progress bar back to the front, and couldn't resist watching the video again.

After watching the film, Director Wei nodded in praise, "Not bad. Xu Yanyu's action scenes are still the most fluid and comfortable. I don't think any other actor in China can pull off this kind of performance."

The assistant director chimed in, "Chang Xuan's character introduction can only rely on verbal descriptions, otherwise I would also like to give them a similar setup as Xu Yanyu."

After the assistant director finished speaking, he opened several other videos.

The introductory video for Yongli uses the music from "One Thousand and One Nights".

The male and female leads were introduced separately, and then there was a combined video that used the movie "Sha Po Lang".

Finally, they gathered some of the best shots from the filming and edited them into a video titled "Love Through Lifetimes".

It seems like they used all the background music.

Director Wei glanced through it and didn't see any problems. "Let's release the two trailers for Xu Yanyu and the main character together first."

He put the notebook back to the assistant director, and as he turned around, he saw the actors who had just been memorizing their lines now chatting together again.

He shouted, "You guys come here for a second."

Xu Yanyu and the others had just caught their breath when they heard Director Wei call them, and they thought he was going to give them another talking about the play.

As the group walked over, they heard the music that had been recorded earlier.

Director Wei said, "The official Weibo account will update promotional materials later. You can repost them on your personal Weibo accounts when you have time."

Director Wei was referring to everyone, but his eyes were fixed on Xu Yanyu.

"It's done so quickly? Wow, that was a rush!" Zhang Ying couldn't help but exclaim.

None of the film crews she had worked for before were as efficient as Director Wei's crew.

The assistant director notified his team to release promotional materials according to plan.

Coming to my senses, I overheard Zhang Ying's words.

He replied, "There's nothing I can do; my colleagues had to work overtime to finish it."

It's not just you guys who are busy; everyone in the crew is incredibly busy.

Director Wei stubbed out his cigarette and looked at the sun-baked stone pavement in the distance.

He sighed, "Just hang in there a little longer! It'll be broadcast soon."

He turned to Xu Yanyu and said, "Yanyu, you must forward the official Weibo post from the production team when you have time."

"Okay!" Xu Yanyu took out her phone, wanting to open her Sina Weibo account.

Suddenly I saw an unread message on WeChat.

It was sent by Director Zeng.

[Yan Yu, you're still filming, right? Reply to my WeChat message as soon as you see it. Director Yan Honglian, whom I mentioned before, came to the film studio where you're currently working to scout locations.]

If you're free at 4 PM, please go for an interview. She's scheduling a last-minute interview at the film studio.

If Xu Yanyu is at the film studio, then she doesn't need to rush to S City.

Xu Yanyu was quite happy to see this news.

She turned to Director Wei and asked, "Director Wei, can my scenes wrap up early at 3 PM this afternoon?"

Director Wei looked up at Xu Yanyu and asked in confusion, "It's possible, but why are you in such a hurry?"

Xu Yanyu's scenes were the ones that Director Wei found easiest to film.

Chang Xuan and Duan Nianzhuang, among others, may need to reshoot several times for other reasons, but Xu Yanyu's scenes are generally fine as long as her co-stars cooperate well.

Therefore, Director Wei estimated that it was possible to let Xu Yanyu leave ahead of schedule.

Xu Yanyu didn't try to hide anything and said directly, "The director I told you about before who auditioned for the movie, he's come to the film studio."

I'll be going for an interview later, so I won't need to take any more time off.

"Director? Coming to the film studio? You're not talking about Yan Honglian, are you?" Director Wei slapped his knee, immediately guessing who Xu Yanyu was going to see.
