Director Wei waved his hand and said, "She said that the shots I shot deviated from her script and ruined her work."
The drama is called "The Legend of the Immortals: Fallen Flowers" because she is most fond of the couple Yongli and Liu Jing. The original inspiration for the drama came from Yongli and Liu Jing.
She wanted to write a story of redemption, yet also a tragic love story filled with regret.
She's a bit twisted; she likes the kind of love where he would destroy the world for her, only to lose his beloved forever.
Damn it, I cursed her out. What does it mean to lose your love forever? Isn't this just the ultimate story of a simp?
As soon as I said that, I got scolded and told that Yongli wasn't a simp.
Later, because she was afraid of receiving death threats from viewers, and also because tragic love stories were no longer popular in the market, she had no choice but to make Yongli a secondary couple.
However, she insisted on calling the drama "The Legend of the Immortals: Fallen Flowers".
Upon hearing this, the assistant director understood why Director Wei had been blacklisted.
Every time I stepped on the screenwriter's landmines, the fact that they only blocked me now shows how powerful money is.
However, in the previous version starring Xi Rubao, director Wei did not capture any sense of redemption.
She looked more like a fairy high above, having watched a good show, and finally decided to give the actors a small reward as a form of charity.
The assistant director concluded, "I think the screenwriter of 'The Legend of the Immortals: Fallen Flowers' is quite good."
Director Wei glanced at Assistant Director Bai.
He continued, "It's okay, just send Xu Yanyu's version to her later. She'll definitely unblock me."
Director Wei was actually quite helpless.
Putting aside the quality of the script, he knew that the previous version starring Xi Rubao was terrible.
But the person was brought in by the producer's side, and after looking throughout the entire entertainment industry, he found that all the actresses were the same.
He also couldn't find a suitable actress to play Liu Jing.
So he could only make do, since it was a secondary couple anyway, and the audience would only end up shipping the main couple.
The two chatted as they packed their things.
On the other side, after the director called "it's over," Xu Yanyu helped the young actor up.
The young actor then gave Xu Yanyu a shy smile.
"Xiao Yi, come here! Come with Mommy to change your clothes. Your scenes are all finished."
A woman in a dress ran up from the side and took the little boy's hand.
The little boy suddenly said to Xu Yanyu, "Sister, you really look like a fairy sister."
His words made his mother laugh so hard she couldn't stop.
Xu Yanyu didn't mind his dirty hair and ruffled his little head.
At this moment, Wei Dao walked over to Xu Yanyu.
He said, "Your costume for the next scene hasn't been returned yet; Xi Rubao just returned it. We probably can't film today. Our whole crew will go out for dinner later."
Although Director Wei's work was delayed, he was in a pretty good mood at the moment.
As long as Xu Yanyu can maintain her previous state and film the rest of the story well.
Even a two-week delay would be fine.
He wants to make money, but he hopes to make good films even more.
If he doesn't have enough money, he can simply call the producer again to ask for more.
When Xu Yanyu heard that the day's filming was over, she immediately perked up.
She still has money to earn!
She looked at Director Wei and said very naturally, "Director Wei, let's not rush to eat. You still have other work to do."
"Huh? I have other work to do? What other work do I have?" Director Wei looked at Xu Yanyu blankly.
He's the director, how could he not know he had other work to do?
Xu Yanyu said with certainty, "Yes, you have other jobs."
"Wait until I change out of my costume, then we can have a proper talk about the music."
Director Wei slapped his forehead and exclaimed, "It seems there really is such a thing!"
He had so much going on today that he had forgotten that Xu Yanyu had come to talk to him about the music.
His filming was actually more than halfway done, and the scenes between the male and female leads were almost finished.
Today, because the main focus was on filming Xi Rubao's scenes, he gave everyone else a day off.
So the soundtrack really can't be delayed.
He's picky, so he has to choose the background music in advance.
But... can Xu Yanyu really produce a soundtrack that satisfies him?
Director Wei glanced at Xu Yanyu without leaving a trace.
The doubt in my heart grew stronger.
He still remembered what Producer Qian had told him.
"A singer has come to the station, and Vice Director Guo likes her quite a bit. He asked her to come over and discuss the soundtrack for 'The Legend of the Immortals: Fallen Flowers' with you."
If you're not satisfied with the music she provides, you can refuse. Just let her go through the motions; the main thing is the drama itself.
Director Wei recalled Producer Qian's words, and his doubts almost turned into certainty.
He's in a bit of a dilemma now.
If it were before, he would have coldly retorted to Xu Yanyu.
But now Xu Yanyu has become an actress in his drama, and he is quite satisfied with the filming.
He can't be as cold and rude as he is to complete strangers.
Xu Yanyu was unaware of Director Wei's various ulterior motives, and she excitedly shared her thoughts with him.
"After reading the script today, a song has already popped into my head, which is perfect as background music for Yongli's entrance."
Seeing Xu Yanyu's excited expression, Director Wei felt even more troubled.
She already had the idea, but he hadn't even started thinking about how to reject her.
Director Wei scratched his head in distress. "Actually, there's no need to rush. I'm not in a hurry... You can take a break."
"Director Wei, you don't need to worry about me. Although I just finished filming today, I'm not tired at all. I have plenty of energy to discuss the music with you."
