Chapter 8 Returning to China

Chapter 8 Returning to China

After hanging up the phone, Jing Rong immediately called Zhang Jingran into the office. "Assistant Zhang, I plan to personally discuss the recent project with the Shanghai Hotel in China, and investigate the market there at the same time."

Zhang Jingran was stunned for a moment: "Isn't this decision a bit hasty? It was originally planned to be Minister Li's..."

"It's okay, Minister Li will go with me, and you can stay at home. Is that okay?"

Zhang Jingran nodded. "It's up to you, President. Are there any personnel changes? Do they need to be rearranged?"

"Just keep everything the same, and add me and Secretary Lin. We'll still be traveling tomorrow. Ask Secretary Lin to book the plane tickets while you're there."

"Okay, any other instructions?"

"Yes." Jing Rong said, handing the document Dong Yang left for him to Assistant Zhang, "You can personally deliver this to President Xue. I think this is an opportunity. If there is no problem, I will discuss the contract with them after I come back."

Zhang Jingran paused. In name, he was the right-hand man that Xue Jingrong's father, Chairman Xue, had arranged for his daughter. In reality, he was Chairman Xue's confidant, whom he had cultivated for several years. This matter wouldn't be difficult to investigate if one was determined. However, as Jingrong's senior assistant, it was impossible for Zhang Jingran not to know about her actions. Zhang Jingran was certain that Jingrong hadn't investigated his relationship with Chairman Xue. It turned out that it wasn't because of her trust in him, but because she remained calm on the surface, but in fact, she had known about it from the very beginning. Zhang Jingran couldn't help but think more highly of Jingrong. From the very beginning, this legendary spoiled daughter of heaven had brought him many surprises. Her work ability and personal charm were all beyond the reach of ordinary people. He said that a tiger father has a tiger daughter. How bad could the daughter of a figure like Chairman Xue be?

However, after this incident, Zhang Jingran felt a stronger sense of identification with Jing Rong. Knowing that he was Chairman Xue's man, Jing Rong still treated him like one of his own, and even relied on him more than anyone else. This foresight and broad-mindedness really impressed him - before this, Zhang Jingran was prepared for a long-term war of resistance. In fact, he was being trained by Chairman Xue as a future hero to assist his daughter. Few people knew this, and if Jing Rong knew about his relationship with Chairman Xue, he would be more or less wary of him.

Zhang Jingran was thinking about this, but he didn't show any of it. He picked up the document and nodded without saying anything. "If the president doesn't give me any more instructions, I'll leave first."

"Go ahead."

Just as Zhang Jingran was about to leave, Jing Rong suddenly remembered something and said, "Wait a minute..." She then picked up a piece of paper and said, "Find someone to find out the information about this list and send it to my email."

When Zhang Jingran took it, he glanced at it. Jing Rong's handwriting was just like her personality, neat and tidy. She was used to writing Chinese characters since she was a child, and she put a lot of effort into every stroke. Now she was writing in Korean, and her handwriting also had a sense of dominance. With just one glance, Zhang Jingran roughly understood what it meant. At the top of the paper was Dong Yang's name, followed by South Korea's three major radio stations, and some media companies and cultural companies - their hotel has never cooperated with these companies. Jing Rong suddenly wanted to investigate this, which must be related to the man who came to see her today.

Jing Rong was indeed very busy. There were still forty minutes left before lunch break, but she didn't miss this moment. She grabbed a few supervisors and held a small meeting. Once the meeting started, there was no end. Secretary Lin knocked on the door and came in: "President, you have an appointment with Director Chen from the Administration for lunch at noon. Isn't it time to go now?"

Jing Rong then checked the time. It was almost half past twelve. He could only apologize to the supervisors: "Sorry, you guys should go eat first. We'll continue at two in the afternoon."

Jing Rong wasn't exactly a woman who could socialize, but working in the hotel industry meant she had to develop her network of contacts. She'd be uncomfortable if she didn't have a dinner party. However, Director Chen of the Administration was a middle-aged woman in her early forties, so Jing Rong decided to take Secretary Lin with her. As they walked out, Jing Rong asked Secretary Lin, "Have you prepared everything you need?"

"I've got it ready. I have a membership card for the beauty salon and a set of cosmetics that Minister Chen usually uses."

Jing Rong nodded slightly and asked in a low voice: "How much money is on the card?"

Just as they entered the elevator, Secretary Lin gestured to Jingrong as she reached out to press the button, and said with a smile, "Assistant Zhang said that you can ask Secretary Xu about this kind of thing. Secretary Xu gave me a brief explanation. I think our relationship with Minister Chen is stable now, and the main focus is on keeping in touch." Secretary Xu is President Xue's secretary and has been with President Xue for more than five years. It would not be wrong to ask her about this kind of thing.

"Well done." Jing Rong smiled and said, "When we get to Shanghai tomorrow, I'll give you a free day."

Secretary Lin's eyes lit up. She had just graduated and this was her first time going on a business trip abroad. She was very excited and had never been afraid of Jing Rong. She asked jokingly, "Boss, can the expenses be reimbursed?"

Jing Rong smiled: "It depends on your performance."

After dinner, Jing Rong returned to the office, drank a cup of strong coffee to refresh herself, and began to devote herself to her afternoon work. She had just taken over the hotel not long ago and had to be on a business trip for so many days. Even with Zhang Jingran in charge, she had to arrange everything in detail before she could feel at ease. So she held meetings non-stop, from supervisors to grassroots management, and after one level of meetings, the afternoon had passed.

"Boss, if there's nothing else, I'm off work."

"Okay, be careful on the road."

"Okay, boss, go home early too." After Secretary Lin finished speaking, she picked up her bag and left, leaving Jing Rong with a youthful and beautiful back. Jing Rong leaned back in a comfortable leather chair and rubbed her temples. That was not her home at all, it was just a place to sleep. What difference did it make whether it was early or late?

Not long after, there was another knock on Jingrong's office door. Zhang Jingran took off his coat and hung it on his arm. His light-colored slim-fitting shirt perfectly showed off his lean figure. He was not as efficient as he was at work after work. He smiled lightly, as if chatting casually with an old friend: "I heard from Secretary Lin that you haven't finished get off work yet. How about it, are you interested in having dinner together?"

Jing Rong was about to nod when a text message came in from Taiyang. She glanced at it and smiled, "Sorry, you're late."

Zhang Jingran shrugged: "That's really unfortunate. I was going to give it to you. I wish you a safe journey."

"It's not like I'm leaving for good. I'm still practicing." Jing Rong laughed, picked up the bag next to him, stuffed his phone and some important documents into it, and then walked past Zhang Jingran, saying, "I'm leaving first. Bye."

"Bye." Zhang Jingran looked at Jingrong's back for a while before he raised his eyebrows and smiled, then hurried over. "I'll go get the car too."

Jing Rong didn't even raise his head: "Okay."

Taiyang felt that being the matchmaker was very dedicated and it was not easy for him. He simply poured his heart and soul into it. He was even moved. When he heard the news that his friends were going back to China, he immediately came to find Jingrong to keep in touch with them. It would be best if he could take Jingrong to pick them up at the airport. He thought his friends would be excited and moved.

Still at the restaurant they went to yesterday, when Jingrong arrived, Taiyang was already sitting in the private room. She put her bag away and said, "Sorry, I'm late."

"No, I arrived early. I hope I didn't disturb you at work?" Taiyang smiled gently.

"No, I'm off work."

"That's good, let's order first." As he said that, Taiyang pushed the menu on the table in front of Jingrong. After ordering, Taiyang said, "By the way, Zhilong and the others will be back in a few days."

Jing Rong was drinking water. She didn't even raise an eyebrow when she heard this. Now she finally understood why Taiyang was so enthusiastic about her, but she didn't mind. Taiyang was a good boy. Jing Rong nodded calmly, "I know."

Taeyang was overjoyed: "The itinerary has just been finalized, and Jiyong told you? Ah, I wanted to give you a surprise!"

Perhaps out of surprise rather than shock, Jing Rong smiled but said nothing. Taiyang then said, "They should be on a flight the day after tomorrow afternoon. How about we go pick them up together at the airport?"

Jing Rong shook his head: "That won't work. I'm on a business trip tomorrow."

"Is that so?" Taiyang was a little disappointed, but because he admired professional women like Jingrong, he didn't insist and just said, "I wish you all the best. When will you be back?"

"If everything goes well, it will only take about a week."

G-Dragon has been in a good mood lately, especially when he boarded the flight back to Seoul. He used to close his eyes and rest as soon as he sat down, but this time he actually kept chatting with Daesung and Seungri. Seungri got a little upset: "Hyung, you only slept for three or four hours last night? Aren't you sleepy?"

Unfortunately, Long Ge was too excited to hear the youngest member's little complaint. He shook his head and said, "I'm not sleepy. It's such a happy day to be home. I don't feel tired at all."

But we are tired, big brother! Dacheng and Seungri were about to kneel down, and Dacheng also said implicitly: "But there might be fans at the airport later. Brother, do you want to adjust yourself and appear in front of the fans in the best spirit?"

"No need, I'm in good spirits now."

Damn, you must have been super pumped up today! Seungri complained silently, remembering that Long Ge’s super pumped-up state started from a phone call the day before yesterday. When he made eye contact with Dacheng, he immediately shouted exaggeratedly: “Brother, you have dark circles under your eyes. Didn’t you sleep yesterday? If my sister-in-law knew, she would be so worried!”

Although Quan Zhilong was a little skeptical, he was still ready to take out a small mirror to check. The kind Dacheng also spoke up: "Brother, your complexion is not as good as before. You look a little haggard. I don't know..."

Victory interjected: "I wonder if my sister-in-law will be disappointed after seeing this!"

G-Dragon glanced doubtfully at his two younger brothers, but ultimately gave up on them. He pulled out an eye mask from his bag, ready to sleep and recover his complexion. Suddenly, Seungri came up to him with a wink and said, "Brother, you're so excited today. Is your sister-in-law going to pick you up at the airport?"

"Why should I be excited? Are you dazzled?" G-Dragon gave Seungri a cold look, put on his eye mask, and began to rest with his eyes closed, but the upturned corners of his mouth could not deceive anyone.
