Chapter 32 Chapter 32 He

Chapter Thirty-Two: Getting Rid of Him

When Zhou Yunqi's gaze swept over, Lin Su was struggling to rub a stain on the cotton fabric. She hurriedly crumpled the stain in her hand into a ball to cover it up, then looked at him with embarrassment and reproach.

The man paused for half a second, then looked away at her face, which was pale and completely devoid of color.

He couldn't help but frown.

Neither of them knew what to say.

Although Lin Su wasn't ashamed of her period, and he had even taken care of her when she had menstrual cramps and helped her get painkillers, being witnessed in this scene was still quite beyond her expectations.

He seemed to be defusing the awkwardness with a lighthearted laugh: "I thought you were doing something else. Hurry up and come eat your noodles after you're done washing up, or they'll get soggy."

He left as soon as he finished speaking, leaving Lin Su feeling very depressed.

After a while, he brought over a kettle of hot water, removed the stopper, poured the water into a basin, and instructed, "The tap water is cold, add some hot water."

After saying that, he left again.

Although he didn't take it to heart, Lin Su was even more depressed.

Ultimately, she had no intention of revealing her most private parts to him.

After washing them, Lin Su hung her underwear on the horizontal bar by the entrance window to dry, as the cramps in her abdomen seemed to be getting worse.

The water on the stove had boiled, and Zhou Yunqi was turning off the heat. As he took the kettle out, Lin Su was about to go to the bedroom to find painkillers. He couldn't help but ask, "Why aren't you eating noodles?"

"I'll take my medicine first."

Zhou Yunqi: "..."

Lin Su came out with the medicine. There was a glass of water on the table, steaming. He said, "Eat a couple of bites of noodles first to fill your stomach, otherwise it will be too hard on your stomach."

Lin Su nodded and sat down.

Seeing that her face was getting paler, Zhou Yunqi asked, "Does it hurt a lot?"

"A little..." Lin Su lowered her head and ate her chicken soup noodles. "It's probably because the weather is too cold, and I'm not used to the new environment yet."

Is it this level of pain?

It's not like he hasn't seen it before.

Halfway through the pills, she was so overwhelmed by abdominal cramps that she had to swallow them.

Zhou Yunqi said, "If it doesn't work, we'll go to the hospital."

Lin Su shook her head, holding her lower abdomen with one hand, and said no, continuing to finish her noodles.

Zhou Yunqi grabbed her arm and led her into the room: "Lie on the bed, I'll go buy you some brown sugar."

An hour later, Zhou Yunqi came into the room with a new hot water bottle and an enamel mug. Lin Su was lying on the bed, her lips were bloodless, and she looked as weak as a newborn animal.

Zhou Yunqi sighed deeply, sat down on the edge of the bed, and handed over a hot water bottle: "Here, warm your stomach, and then drink some brown sugar water."

Lin Su sat up, stuffed the hot water bottle into the quilt, and picked up the teacup.

After finishing his brown sugar water, Zhou Yunqi took the cup and placed it on the desk, but did not leave.

Lin Su murmured, "It doesn't hurt as much anymore. The painkillers must have worked. I just need to rest. You can go back to your work."

He looked at her helplessly: "If I leave, who will take care of you?"

Lin Su pursed her lips and said, "It only happens occasionally. It's probably because the weather is too cold, and there was no heating at home a few days ago."

She put down the hot water bottle and moved slightly. But even that slight movement caused a rush of water to gush from her body. She had to frown and stop.

"?" Zhou Yunqi asked, puzzled. "What's wrong?"

Lin Su looked at him and said, "I need to get up and go to the toilet."

Zhou Yunqi stood up, took the cup, and went out first.

Lin Su squatted for a long time, and her gait was strange when she came out of the bathroom. Zhou Yunqi, who was sitting on the sofa reading the newspaper he had just bought, glanced over and asked, "What happened to your leg?"

Lin Su: "My legs are numb from squatting."

He remained silent, helped her sit back on the bed, and then sat on the edge of the bed, covering her with the blanket and having her use a hot water bottle to warm her lower abdomen.

"I'll lie down and take a nap," he said.

"I don't want to lie down, I'll sit up first." After saying that, she put a pillow behind her back.

Outside the window, the wind was still biting cold, but somehow, a pale sun rose into the sky. Although it wasn't warm, it added a bit of brightness to the room.

In the silence that followed their eye contact, he suddenly asked, "How old are you this year?"

"Turning 19 in September."

"So you're only 18 now?"

Lin Su nodded.

"He's still just a little kid."

Lin Su pouted: "So how old are you this year?"

26.

Lin Su: "Oh, he's seven years older than me."

After he said that, the air became quiet again.

But he asked earnestly, like a good student, "What kind of feeling is that?"

Lin Su was stunned: "What?"

He explained, "What does it feel like when it hurts?"

Lin Su understood. He was probably just curious because of the differences in male and female physiology. She thought for a moment and described, "Sometimes it feels like wringing out a towel, my stomach hurts terribly; sometimes it feels like nails are being driven into my flesh, a stabbing pain; sometimes it's just a bloating pain, my lower back aches, and all the strength in my limbs feels drained, my whole body feels ice cold..."

His expression grew increasingly grim as he listened: "You certainly know how to describe things."

Lin Su gave an awkward laugh.

"Would it feel better if someone was holding me?" he said calmly, his gaze fixed on her eyes.

Lin Su paused for a moment, then nodded: "It might be a little better, as a kind of emotional comfort."

After saying that, she stared at him blankly, wondering what he was trying to do.

He smiled gently: "Then I'll hold you."

Lin Su swallowed hard and gave a soft "hmm".

She had hugged him many times before and was already very familiar with his embrace. Her body even acted more proactively than her reason. Wearing her pajamas, Lin Su sat on the bed and directly hugged his lean waist, resting her face on his shoulder. The man's strong arms pulled her into his embrace, his hands pressing against her back.

Later, she felt that sitting like that was tiring, so she said, "I want to sit on your lap and hug you."

He nodded: "Come on."

After some fussing, Zhou Yunqi sat on the bed with his back against the wall at the head of the bed, and Lin Su sat sideways on his lap, nestled in his arms.

He also placed a hot water bottle on her lower abdomen to keep it warm.

Lin Su rested her head against his chest, her ear close to his heart, listening to his steady and powerful heartbeat.

Zhou Yunqi pulled the blanket tighter around him and asked, "Is it comfortable to hug like this?"

Lin Su: "Mmm, much more comfortable."

"That's good."

The man had one arm around her waist and back, his palm holding her slender arm, and his other hand smoothing her hair. Seeing her nestled obediently in his arms, he couldn't help but rub his cheek against the top of her head.

Whether it was a placebo or the effect of aspirin, Lin Su really felt much more comfortable being held by him.

The room was completely silent, with only the sound of two people breathing.

Lin Su felt calm and peaceful as she smelled the pleasant pine scent on him.

I want to sleep, but I'm afraid of missing this feeling.

She asked, "When are you leaving?"

Zhou Yunqi said, "The original plan was for tomorrow, but I'm worried about you in this state."

"The pain will be gone tomorrow. Today is the eighth day of the lunar month, and we've been back for five days."

"Mmm," he responded softly.

"What will the factory do these next few days?"

He said, "With the old factory director here, there are no problems with production. I contacted him the day before yesterday, and Xu Yaodong said that many of the educated youth have left, but it's okay. It's already February, and there's not much uncut sugarcane left. There are still workers on the farm."

Lin Su then asked, "When can you come back to visit your family again?"

After thinking for a moment, he said, "The crushing season will end in May, followed by shipping, inventory, and settlement. The factory will only really be idle in July."

The man looked down at her: "Aren't you taking the college entrance exam in July?"

"Okay, so are you coming back?"

He nodded: "I'll go back, that'll be perfect, I can come back and take care of you during your college entrance exams."

Lin Su initially agreed, but then thought about it and said, "Why don't you wait until I finish my college entrance exam before you come back?"

Why?

"I always feel like I don't want my breath to be interrupted. I'm afraid that if I see you and am too happy, my rhythm will be disrupted."

He touched the stray hairs on her cheek: "Alright, then I'll wait until you finish your college entrance exam before returning to Beijing."

Lin Su said, "Then it's settled. I'd be a dog if I lied."

He said dismissively, "What's there to lie about? You've been there, you know what the busy season and the off-season are like."

At this point, he laughed: "During the off-season, I wanted to treat you to good food and drink, but you couldn't stay idle and insisted on finding work to do."

Lin Su said, "I feel bad about eating and drinking for free."

"Now you feel better." He looked down and saw that there seemed to be a bit of color in her face.

Lin Su looked back at her and said, "I'm sorry."

He clicked his tongue, raised an eyebrow, and asked, "Have you figured it out?"

“I don’t want to understand, so I can only eat, drink, and live here for free. Although we’ve started reform and opening up, we can’t earn money anytime soon. Besides, I still need to study, so I can only rely on you to support me.”

Anyway, she doesn't want to dwell on these things now and has made up her mind to lie low and rely on him for the next few years.

He scoffed, "You said that without even changing your expression."

Lin Su stepped out of his embrace and sat up straighter: "So, are you going to raise it or not?"

It sounded like she was being coquettish, but it also sounded like she was threatening someone.

The man relaxed, chuckled, and leaned casually against the headboard, asking, "What would you do if I stopped supporting you?"

Lin Su was taken aback for a moment, then coldly snorted, "You're not planning to support me anymore? Then who are you planning to support?"

Where did this logic come from? Zhou Yunqi was speechless: "Can't I just not support anyone, enjoy peace and quiet, and be free from all worries?"

"No." Lin Su replied, feigning a fierce tone.

Zhou Yunqi laughed: "What kind of behavior is this? Bully? Bandit?"

Lin Su's physical pain had eased considerably, and she seemed to have regained her strength. She had been sitting sideways, but now she straddled his lap, her hands becoming increasingly unrestrained as she pinched his cheeks, saying righteously, "Abandoning someone is illegal!"

He was genuinely amused.

Just half an hour ago she looked so frail, like even a kitten could carry her away, but now she dares to ride on his back and cause trouble.

But wait, she was sitting too close, pressed tightly against him, making the man sense something was amiss, and his breathing involuntarily became heavier.

She seemed not to notice.

Zhou Yunqi tried to move away, to get her a little closer. But she seemed to find some strength in herself and pressed herself even tighter. The man's breathing grew heavier as he looked up at her.

Lin Su always thought it was a problem with the toilet paper she used, since sanitary napkins didn't even exist back then, and she was afraid of causing problems, so she used a thicker layer.

When she first sat down, she only felt a little strange, but this strangeness made her feel comfortable and she didn't want to leave.

The paper must be too thick, Susu thought silently. She twisted her waist, and the comfort doubled. She didn't know what was wrong with her, but her body seemed to have a mind of its own and rubbed against her.

This instinct is like that of a fish thirsty out of water; as long as it can sense the slight moisture in the air, it will approach the water source as if equipped with radar.

The man's hands rested on her waist, his body pressed tightly against hers. The relentless surge of desire made his breathing heavier and more erratic.

Was it intentional or unintentional? But does this fool even know what he's doing?

She always manages to arouse people to the point of blood boiling, yet she remains completely unmoved.

Zhou Yunqi tried his best to restrain himself, biting his forehead so hard that the veins looked like they were about to pop out.

Little did he know that this time, Lin Su was not unmoved at all.

On the contrary, the gushing sensation due to her period finally made her realize that it wasn't the paper that was the problem.

Unfortunately, it was too late.

Physiological instincts, coupled with increased physical sensitivity during menstruation, made her reluctant to leave. She simply grabbed his shoulders, pressed herself against him, and gently rubbed against him. With a touch of coquettishness, she quickly gained an unprecedented experience.

Coming to her senses, Lin Su felt both ashamed and embarrassed. She clung tightly to his neck, resting her head on his shoulder, her breath coming in deep, heavy gasps.

The man with his arm around her waist almost broke down.
