Chen Suwen handed over the formula for the plant nutrient solution to a trustworthy person, a staff member from the official economic department who was sent to liaise with her.
After handing over the formula, Chen Suwen didn't concern herself with anything else. She believed that the official side would treat her well this time, just like they had done with her before.
Zhou Cunzong had been busy all day and hadn't even had a chance to drink a glass of water when he got home and saw his mother sitting in the main seat, staring intently at him.
"mom?"
Why are you looking at him like that?
Is there something wrong with him?
Xu Huixue and Shen Wenxiu were both very curious about what Zhou Cunzong was doing and why Chen Suwen was staring at him with such a serious expression.
Zhou Qingyun and his son Zhou Cunzhi were also very curious. When they came home from get off work, they saw Chen Suwen sitting there waiting for Zhou Cunzong. They were really curious about what was wrong with him.
Zhou Qingyun and his colleagues worked much further away than Zhou Cunzong, so the father and son returned home earlier than Zhou Cunzong.
"...You get off work so late?" Chen Suwen raised an eyebrow at him and asked.
"I get off work quite early, around the same time as everyone else." Zhou Cunzong breathed a sigh of relief when his mother asked him about coming home late; he could actually explain it away.
“I went to see Qin Guangtan. His products have been selling very well lately. He sent a message to me asking me to meet with him.”
After Zhou Cunzong answered, he was about to find a place to sit down when Chen Suwen stopped him.
Did I ask you to sit down?
Chen Suwen raised her chin. "Stand."
Zhou Cunzong immediately stood up straight, head held high, worried that his mother would punish him if he disobeyed.
His dad doesn't even need to lift a finger; his mom can handle him all by herself.
He had trained with his family for a while and thought he was very skilled, so he became arrogant and provoked his mother.
The result was obvious: he was pinned to the ground and beaten by his mother, and he had no chance to fight back.
"Mom, what's wrong?" Zhou Cunzong asked cautiously. He couldn't have done anything wrong recently, could he?
Every day, she either goes to work or diligently helps with housework and takes care of the children. Occasionally, she goes to talk business with Qin Guangtan.
He didn't do anything wrong, did he?
He doesn't have any problems at work, so it shouldn't be his boss who came to complain.
Chen Suwen raised an eyebrow. "You really have a bad memory. I just ran into you this afternoon, and you've already forgotten about this?"
"Huh?" Zhou Cunzong was even more confused. "Mom, isn't it normal for me to run into you at work? Do I need to remember it?"
Chen Suwen couldn't help but laugh, "Are you pretending to be stupid with me? The person just fell right in front of you."
"She might even be hoping to fall into your arms. If you don't catch her, you can help her back or take her to the clinic."
"You've forgotten so quickly?"
Chen Suwen didn't care whether she was satisfied or not with her daughter-in-law Shen Wenxiu; she was simply someone who disliked infidelity.
Whether male or female, cheating and betraying one's marriage should be condemned.
She certainly didn't want her son to be like that.
Upon hearing his mother's words, Zhou Cunzong quickly explained, "Mom, I didn't touch her at all."
"After she fell, I asked you to help her up, didn't I? I didn't even get close to her."
Chen Suwen said sarcastically, "You didn't even touch her, so why is she calling you 'Brother Zong'?"
Zhou Cunzong's lips twitched. His mother's address of "Brother Zong" was so sweet that it gave him goosebumps.
Zhou Qingyun and his son Zhou Cunzhi couldn't help but frown; in fact, they both had goosebumps.
Xu Huixue and Shen Wenxiu stared intently at Zhou Cunzong with inscrutable expressions.
Women are very good at spotting scheming women; just by hearing the tone of "Brother Zong," they can tell what kind of ulterior motives the other person might be harboring.
Xu Huixue looked at Shen Wenxiu with some worry. If something really happened to her brother-in-law, it would be her sister-in-law who would be hurt.
Shen Wenxiu was alright; she still trusted Zhou Cunzong to some extent, but she was indeed somewhat uncomfortable.
"Tell me, how did you get involved with her? You weren't at your post during work hours, how did you end up walking with that young girl?" Chen Su asked him.
Zhou Cunzong explained that he was delivering something to his workplace when he came across a broken light bulb at Su Tiantian's house, and he kindly helped her change it.
"I really didn't have any extra contact with her. I was just helping her change a light bulb out of kindness."
Chen Suwen raised an eyebrow, "A lone man and a lone woman, and you went to her house. Aren't you afraid of what kind of gossip will spread?"
Why change a light bulb in broad daylight?
We don't need the light bulb during the day, so even if we need to change it, we can wait for Su Tiantian's father or brother to come back before changing it, right?
Why should Zhou Cunzong, an outsider, be the one to make the exchange?
"You know how to avoid suspicion and understand the difference between men and women, but you haven't done it thoroughly enough."
"Could it be that you're dissatisfied with your wife and want to change her?" Chen Suwen questioned him.
If that's really what he's planning, then don't blame her for being ruthless.
"How could that be? How could I possibly change wives? I love Wenxiu, and I want to spend my whole life with her. How could I possibly separate from her?"
Zhou Cunzong rushed to his wife's side and held her hand, "Wenxiu, believe me, I only love you, and I absolutely have no intention of changing wives."
