Chapter 90 Insults

"If you dare hit me, I'll tell my grandma, and she'll beat you up!" the chubby boy continued to threaten Zhao Lexin.

"So you're the only one with a grandma? I have a grandma too! If you dare bully me, I'll tell my grandma!"

Zhao Lexin wasn't afraid at all.

Although she knew her grandmother had a bad reputation on Guangming Road, so what?

She believed that if she were bullied, her grandmother would protect her.

"Give me the bread right now!"

"You jinx! You drove Wu Cheng and the others away! You're a bad person, you don't deserve to eat bread!"

Although the chubby boy didn't get along very well with the Wu brothers, Wu Cheng and Wu Xuan, he remembered the bad things his family said about Zhao Lexin and her grandmother.

The chubby boy's grandmother had a good relationship with his mother and Wu Cheng's mother, Pang Zijuan, so after the Wu family moved away, she kept talking badly about Chen Suwen behind her back.

Now that the chubby boy has remembered what his family said, he naturally vents his anger on Zhao Lexin, the child he is jealous of.

Why should Zhao Lexin, a jinx who brings misfortune to her parents, be allowed to eat bread?

Such good stuff is not something Zhao Lexin, that jinx, deserves to eat.

"You're the bad guy! You're promoting feudal superstition! Be careful you don't get arrested and criticized!"

Zhao Lexin hates it when people call her a jinx.

Her grandmother said that her parents were heroes, great heroes who saved lives, and that she was not the one who brought them bad luck.

Her parents love her the most, and they would be very angry and sad if they knew that she was being called a jinx.

To avoid upsetting her parents, she certainly wouldn't let anyone call her a jinx.

Her parents loved her the most, and she loved her parents the most too.

Zhao Lexin shoved the half-eaten bread in her hand into her younger sister's hand and rushed over to fight with the chubby boy.

"Serves you right for being so foul-mouthed! Serves you right for having such a dirty mouth and being unable to speak properly!"

"You're the bad guy! You tried to steal my bread, you're the worst of the worst!"

"Aaaaah, Zhao Lexin, you jinx! You good-for-nothing! How dare you hit me!"

The chubby boy was always the most pampered child at home, even more so than his cousins. But now that Zhao Lexin had hit him, he's completely devastated.

"I'll beat you to death, you worthless piece of trash! You dare hit me?!"

The chubby boy cried as he fought with Zhao Lexin, but although Zhao Lexin was a year younger than him, she ate well, slept well, and was in good health, so the chubby boy was no match for her at all.

"Waaah—Grandma—that good-for-nothing Zhao Lexin hit me—!"

The chubby boy couldn't beat Zhao Lexin, so he could only cry and call for help.

His grandma loves him the most. If she knew he had been beaten up, she would definitely come to his rescue and help him fight back.

"Who dares to bully my grandson—"

A middle-aged woman rushed out from the Qian family, not far from Zhao Lexin and the others. Upon hearing her beloved grandson's voice, she was immediately filled with rage.

"That bastard dared to hit my grandson? I'll beat him to death!"

Liu Cuilian was truly furious. Her son, Duobao, was her precious grandson, and she wouldn't even let him touch her. How dare someone hit him?

Liu Cuilian rushed over and saw her grandson being beaten on the ground. She angrily rushed over and tried to push Zhao Lexin away.

Filled with rage, she wanted to throw her far away, preferably to smash Zhao Lexin, and ideally, to kill the brat.

"Sister, be careful!"

Zhou Mei was startled when she saw Liu Cuilian's ferocious and furious appearance as she rushed over, and screamed to warn her sister.

Zhao Lexin, of course, heard Liu Cuilian's words. After hearing her sister's reminder, she quickly let go of the chubby boy and hid to the side.

When Liu Cuilian saw Zhao Lexin dodge, she tried to kick her, but Zhao Lexin knew very well the difference in strength between herself and her opponent, and quickly took several steps back to avoid the attack.

Knowing how much Liu Cuilian cherished her precious grandson, Zhao Lexin quickly ran over and pulled her sister home.

"You all should leave right away!"

Zhao Lexin gave her friends a heads-up and then ran home, afraid that Liu Cuilian would catch up and beat her up.

She was only seven years old, and she certainly had no chance of winning against Liu Cuilian, an adult. She had to go back to her grandmother for support.

"You little brat, why don't you try running away!"

"You little rascal, how come you didn't die from the fall!"

Liu Cuilian disliked Zhao Lexin to begin with, and now seeing her beat her grandson made her hate her even more.

Zhao Lexin remained silent, only pulling her younger sister along as they ran home.

"Grandma—Grandma—"

Zhao Lexin knew who her savior was, and before she even got home, she was already yelling for her grandma.

"What? You keep yelling all the time, do you think I'm free?"

Although Chen Suwen didn't have a job and left many of the housework to her daughter-in-law, it didn't mean she had nothing to do.

With the Lunar New Year approaching, it's time to do a thorough house cleaning, or take care of the vegetable garden and fruit trees in the backyard, which keeps us quite busy.

Where do you find so much time to worry about other things?

Zhao Lexin shouted at her, but she only felt a headache coming on.

"Grandma, Grandma Liu is going to hit me!"

Zhao Lexin rushed up to Chen Suwen and hugged her waist to complain.

“Qian Duobao tried to steal my bread. When I refused, he threatened to hit me and called me a jinx who had no parents.”

"I was so angry that I started fighting with Qian Duobao. When Grandma Liu found out, she wanted to beat me up."

"She just kicked me. Luckily I dodged quickly, or I would have been kicked to death."

Chen Suwen frowned upon hearing this.

She had heard the noise outside, but she hadn't expected it to be Liu Cuilian going crazy.
