Chen Suwen's question made He Caiying's smile almost disappear, but she still had to explain to everyone how wonderful her daughter-in-law was and how good she, as the mother-in-law, was to her daughter-in-law.
“Our husband’s mom is destined to enjoy life, how could she possibly have to work so hard?”
"Even if she does nothing, my Ah Qian will support her, isn't that good enough?"

He Caiying recounted to Chen Suwen how much her daughter-in-law was pampered, practically the darling of the family.
She doesn't need to do any work, but her mother-in-law does all the housework and even takes care of the children.
Her daughter-in-law has it so easy; she gets everything without having to do anything.
Chen Su looked at her with a half-smile, "Yes, she really doesn't need to do anything, but isn't that because you don't let her do anything?"
He Caiying's daughter-in-law, Zhang Hongxue, is indeed a beloved family member. Before she got married, her family doted on her and wouldn't let her do anything.
After she got married, the Sun family didn't let her do anything; she was practically a pampered princess who never lifted a finger.
But what is the reality?
Zhang Hongxue can't do anything, isn't that a form of praise that leads to his downfall?

He Caiying, who was speaking eloquently, choked up. Seeing that Chen Suwen was truly indifferent, she could only awkwardly shut up.
"Then I'll go to the supply and marketing cooperative first. Cunzhi's mom, you go ahead with your work."
After He Caiying left, Ye Yulian, who had arrived at some unknown time, quickly moved a small stool and sat down next to Chen Suwen.
"What does she want from you? Why is she saying all those things about how good she is to her daughter-in-law, as if she wants everyone to know she's a good mother-in-law?"

Ye Yulian was able to get along with Chen Suwen, a notoriously wicked mother-in-law, because she herself wasn't exactly a kind person to her daughter-in-law.
It's not that she would mistreat her daughter-in-law, but it's unlikely that she would treat her daughter-in-law better than her own daughter.
She wasn't a particularly good person to her daughter either. She treated her daughter-in-law much like any other ordinary person, scolding her when necessary, and sometimes even resorting to physical fights if the arguments got heated.
Fights between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law are usually back and forth, and they don't usually go to extremes, but when they get angry, they can't control themselves.
"I think the fact that everyone says she's a first-rate mother-in-law was something Atong's mom said herself."
"Otherwise, who would bother to care whether she's excessively good to her daughter-in-law?"
"Saying she treats her daughter-in-law better than her own daughter? Haha, doesn't everyone know how she treats her daughter?"
Sun Qingguo could have avoided going to the countryside if He Caiying had been as willing as Chen Suwen to do so, she could have gotten Sun Qingguo married and avoided going to the countryside.
But she didn't do that, since both of her sons had gone to the countryside, and she couldn't let Sun Qingguo escape the same fate.
"It's true that A-Tong's mother treats her daughter-in-law better than her daughter, but she should be able to treat her daughter-in-law better than her son."
Chen Suwen added quietly, "He's better than her son. Didn't you see that her second and third sons went to the countryside?"
"Hmph, you're right."
"Hey, do you think Ah Qiang's mom is just lucky? How come good things always happen to her?"
Ye Yulian was very suspicious.
"Was it because A-Tong's mother always had exceptionally good luck that she was forced to marry him?"
Chen Suwen gave her a look that said, "You're only just realizing this now."
After understanding her gaze, Ye Yulan was extremely excited.
"You think so too, don't you? The title of 'Number One Good Mother-in-Law' for Atong's mother must be due to her daughter-in-law's good luck."
If she had a daughter-in-law as lucky as her, who could bring such great benefits to the family, she would definitely praise her to the skies.
"Have you forgotten when A-Tong got that job?" Chen Suwen reminded her.
After being reminded by her, Ye Yulian finally remembered that Sun Tong got his job after he got engaged to Zhang Hongxue.
