Chapter 81 seems to be missing something.

Ye Dong's eyes narrowed: "Prefect Dong, what exactly do you want to do?" He had never doubted Prefect Dong, and he had never really held a grudge against him for what happened before.

Otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to work for him all these years. But looking at his expression now, she suddenly realized that the person in front of her was not the same as the one she knew.

Prefect Dong didn't try to hide it any longer. Instead, he smiled with satisfaction: "Ye Dong, you're a smart man. You should know that it's better to be a little oblivious to some things. I won't do anything to you this time. I just want that girl to come out and talk to me."

"What shall we talk about?"

Ye Dong looked at Magistrate Dong's face and felt utterly disgusted: "Are you talking about the medicine-using people you keep in your backyard, or are you talking about that group of living dead?"

Prefect Dong frowned: "What are you trying to say?"

"I finally understand. Those people weren't sent over from outside; they were raised by you." He had always been puzzled as to why so many drug-using people appeared out of nowhere.

Even after the chains were destroyed, those strange things still appeared in Ping'an City. Now, thinking about it carefully, I suddenly realized that those people didn't come from outside at all!

Thinking of this, Ye Dong unconsciously clenched his fists: "Do you intend to destroy Ping An City?"

When the question was asked, the smile on Prefect Dong's face vanished instantly: "I did this to save the people of Ping'an City! What does it matter if a few people die for my grand plan? Those people should be grateful that they became my medicine people!"

Ye Dong couldn't help but curse angrily: "First you create chaos, then you pretend to rescue people. Screw your rescue of the people! Your face is truly disgusting!"

They were all lined up neatly.

The Ye family all looked at Magistrate Dong.

He sighed again, still feigning concern, "Sigh, I didn't want to hurt you, but now that you know so much, it seems I can only apologize." After saying that, he winked at the person next to him, who immediately hurriedly left.

Anyone could see that he had already decided to kill.

The Ye family also realized this, and Ye Xi's temper flared up: "What apologies? I'm not buying it. Do you really think I'm a pushover?"

Prefect Dong sneered, "Then we'll see if your bones are harder, or the hands of these living dead are harder." With a wave of his hand, hundreds of distorted living dead walked out from inside.

They were hunched over, their movements stiff and contorted.

His scarlet eyes were like those of a ghost that had walked out of hell!

Upon seeing this, Ye Dong struggled a few times in a panic, his eyes filled with astonishment and fear: "Aren't these the people you said you were going to send out on business? Why have they all turned into this?"

"They're doing me a favor," Prefect Dong said, his eyes radiating arrogance. "Don't worry, if I can turn them into this, I can definitely manage them well. Once the matter is settled, I can restore them to normal."

Is it actually possible to recover?

The answer is, of course, no.

Cheng Shanshan, who was not far away, saw this scene and instinctively wanted to rush over to save the person.

But Huo Mingchen stopped her: "Wait a minute, let's see."

"Can……"

Cheng Shanshan knew all too well the destructive power of the living dead.

Once their minds are controlled, they become like wild beasts. She can't just stand by and watch the Ye family get hurt!

Just as she was getting increasingly anxious as she watched the undead approach, Ye Dong suddenly took out a whistle and blew it. Unexpectedly, the undead seemed to be frozen in place.

At the same time, Ye Xi had already broken free of the ropes and smugly patted the dust off his hands, which were not actually there: "These ropes hurt my hands."

Ye Nan: "Yes, it hurts too."

Ye Bei: "Stop pretending, get up."

When Magistrate Dong saw this, his eyes were full of surprise: "How...how could this be?" Only then did he realize that something was wrong and hurriedly made a move to escape.

But Ye Dong and Ye Xi restrained him from the left and right: "I saw long ago that your ambition was too great. If we really had no defenses, wouldn't we be in big trouble?"

"That's right, you old scoundrel, why did you have to provoke us? Now I have to keep adding things to the herbs every day, running around and I'm exhausted." Ye Xi said as he slapped Prefect Dong, making his lungs hurt. "Alright, everyone come out, whoever wants to hit me can come over."

"……What's the meaning?"

Before Magistrate Dong could react, torches suddenly lit up the surrounding area, followed by a series of figures.

These people were all aggressive: "Prefect Dong, we trusted you, but you have turned out to be so utterly depraved!"

"Give me back my father's life! Give me back my brother's life!"

These people had been eavesdropping from the shadows from the very beginning, and now they finally saw through Magistrate Dong's disgusting face. They all wished they could tear him apart alive!

Prefect Dong still made a last-ditch effort: "Don't listen to what Ye Dong said. They're all fine and will be better soon."

"Shut up!"

Everyone's emotions had been completely aroused.

In just a moment, they surrounded Prefect Dong and began to beat him!

Upon seeing this, Cheng Shanshan looked at Huo Mingchen in surprise: "What's going on?"

"He only got what he deserved."

Huo Mingchen glanced lightly at the crowd before continuing, "Alright, we can go back now."

"..."

Cheng Shanshan did not press the matter further.

She came to save the Ye family, and was relieved to see that they were alright.

It was already past midnight when they returned to the dilapidated house. Cheng Shanshan was hungry, so she went to the kitchen, found half a pancake made by Bai Shi, and shared half with Huo Mingchen.

Huo Mingchen took it but didn't eat it. He gave a wry smile and said, "Actually, I should have had some wine, but unfortunately I don't."

Cheng Shanshan noticed that Huo Mingchen seemed to be in a bad mood, so she quickly took out a bottle of plum wine: "You said you liked this wine before."

Huo Mingchen still didn't move: "It's been a while, it's a pity there's no food or wine."

"Yes."

Cheng Shanshan hurriedly went to get it again.

Huo Mingchen glanced at the dried meat in her hand and said, "It would be nice if you made a cold dish instead."

"A cold dish?" Cheng Shanshan thought for a moment, "How about a cucumber salad?"

"OK."

Of course, all these things were taken out of the space.

She pretended to go to the kitchen, and then got everything ready.

Huo Mingchen didn't press the matter further, instead teasingly asking, "It seems like something's missing?"

"Huo Mingchen!"

Cheng Shanshan was a little unhappy: "That's enough."

Huo Mingchen raised an eyebrow and smiled: "What I meant was that I still need you to congratulate me."
