"It's good that you're alright!" Seeing Yan Bo trying to get up while supporting himself on the bed, Tong Xiaohuai quickly pressed down on his shoulder. "Don't move around, just lie still and let the doctor come and check on you."
As he spoke, he raised his hand and pressed the bell.
Yan Bo didn't dare to move again, obediently lying on the bed, but holding her hand tightly and refusing to let go.
"I'll go get you a glass of water..." Tong Xiaohuai glanced helplessly at the hand that was being held tightly by him.
"I'm not thirsty!" Yan Bo could finally see her clearly now, and he stared at her intently. "You look like you've lost weight?"
The two hadn't seen each other for several days, so logically, they shouldn't have changed much.
Tong Xiaohuai smiled and shook her head, touching her face with her other hand. "You're just imagining things. I tried to lose weight for months but didn't lose an ounce. It's only been a few days, how could I have lost weight?"
Yan Bo knew perfectly well whether she had lost weight or not, and knew that she was just comforting herself, so he stopped dwelling on the matter.
"Was it Di Xu who called you and said I was injured?"
Before Yan Bo fainted, he told Di Xu not to tell Tong Xiaohuai about this.
“I called you, but you didn’t answer, so I started to panic.”
At this point, Tong Xiaohuai's eyes welled up with tears again.
Yanbo's failure to answer the phone has cast a deep shadow over her mind.
"It's nothing serious. The situation was a bit chaotic at the time, and it took some time to get her to the hospital, which is why she fainted. It wasn't anything serious to begin with."
Yanbo gently rubbed her hand with his fingertips, trying to soothe her sad emotions.
Tong Xiaohuai nodded silently to him, then grasped his hand tightly, raised it, kissed it, and pressed it firmly against her face.
"Yanbo, promise me, no matter what happens, you won't leave me alone, okay?"
It is said that you only know how to cherish something after you have lost it. Tong Xiaohuai experienced two false losses in a short period of time, and the torment she went through was just as unbearable.
If she could, she really wouldn't want it to happen a third time.
Yan Bo's heart clenched, and he felt incredibly guilty. Just as he was about to say something to comfort her, the door was pushed open, and the doctor and Di Xu walked in together.
Tong Xiaohuai released Yan Bo's hand, stepped aside, and listened silently as the doctor asked Yan Bo some questions. Then she performed some simple examinations on Yan Bo.
"It seems there's nothing seriously wrong now. As long as you don't feel dizzy, you can stay for another day for observation and then be discharged tomorrow."
This result brought a sigh of relief to the three people present.
"Doctor, can he eat normally now?" Tong Xiaohuai was worried that Yanbo was going hungry.
"If you have an appetite, you can eat a normal breakfast, just avoid anything irritating," the doctor said before leaving.
"Boss, junior sister, what would you like to eat? I'll go buy it."
Di Xu volunteered to buy breakfast so as not to be a third wheel.
Just as Di Xu left, Tong Xiaohuai's phone rang.
She picked up the phone, glanced at the caller ID, and then, without thinking, glanced at Yan Bo before taking the phone out.
When she returned, Yanbo stared at her and asked, "Uncle Tong's phone call?"
Tong Xiaohuai was stunned for a moment, unsure whether to tell the truth or a lie.
“Xiao Huai…” Yan Bo pulled her hand and made her sit on the edge of the bed. “I’ll handle this myself. There’s no need to trouble Uncle Tong.”
After hesitating for a moment, Tong Xiaohuai finally told Yan Bo about some of the things that Uncle Tong had investigated.
After hearing this, Yan Bo fell silent.
After a long pause, he said, "I'll handle this myself. Give me the phone, and I'll talk to Uncle Tong."
Tong Xiaohuai had no choice but to hand her the phone.
Yanbo took the phone, found the caller ID, and dialed back.
"Uncle Tong, it's me!"
"Yes, I'm fine. I should be able to be discharged tomorrow."
"Yes, Xiao Huai told me everything, but I want to handle this myself."
"Yes, I know. I'll ask if I need your help."
Both men were straightforward people, and they reached an agreement in just a few words.
Tong Xiaohuai took the phone that Yan Bo handed back to her and looked at him with a complicated expression.
"Should we tell your uncle, aunt, and Brother Yan about your injury?"
Even now, Tong Xiaohuai still disagrees with Yan Bo's extreme approach to dealing with his relationship with his parents.
Therefore, she subtly reminded him that now might be a good opportunity to back down.
Yan Bo, however, was unusually stubborn and shook his head. "No, if I tell them this now, they'll just think I'm playing the victim."
Tong Xiaohuai was speechless, and for a moment, she really couldn't find the right words to continue persuading him.
Moreover, she was well aware that Yan Bo, though seemingly gentle, was actually very persistent.
This kind of persistence is probably mostly inherited from his family.
Therefore, with such stubborn and persistent people in the whole family, getting anyone to give in first is harder than climbing to heaven.
"Should I tell Tao Jia?"
After much thought, Tong Xiaohuai could only come up with this compromise.
However, even so, Yan Bo rejected it.
"No, Jiajia is such a loudmouth. If we talk to her, who knows what kind of trouble she'll cause."
If this won't work, and that won't work, Tong Xiaohuai had no choice but to give up.
To Yan Bo and Tong Xiaohuai's surprise, an uninvited guest arrived before they had even finished their breakfast.
Because Tong Xiaohuai insisted, Yan Bo was eating the rice porridge that Tong Xiaohuai was feeding him when the door was suddenly pushed open with a "bang," and a chill rushed in.
"Xiao Bo, are you alright?" Along with the chill, came a deep male voice.
Before Tong Xiaohuai could turn her head, the man had already strode over to the bedside.
Who else could this person be but Yan Yuan, Yan Bo's older brother?
Yan Bo looked at the man in front of the bed in surprise, "Brother!"
Tong Xiaohuai tactfully moved to the side, giving up the seat closest to Yan Bo.
With an anxious expression, Yan Yuan bent down and carefully examined Yan Bo.
"Apart from your head, are you alright?"
"No!" Yan Bo shook his head. "Brother, what brings you here?"
Yan Bo's question only made things worse. Yan Yuan sat up abruptly, glaring at him angrily.
"If I don't come, are you not planning to tell us?"
Yan Yuan's voice wasn't loud, but his tone was extremely sharp.
Tong Xiaohuai, who was standing to the side, felt a chill run down her spine. She didn't dare to breathe and made a sound. She gave Yan Bo a wink and quickly slipped out.
Yan Bo, however, has never been afraid of his older brother since childhood. Of course, he is not only not afraid of his older brother, but also of his parents.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to go into business according to his own ideas.
"Brother, it's just a minor injury, why would I tell you?"
He phrased it skillfully, implying that he didn't tell his family because it was a minor injury, not because he had a conflict with them.
