Yan Shao arrived in H City by private jet at nearly seven o'clock.
The plane landed in the garden of the villa that the Yan family had purchased in H City. Young Master Yan stepped off the plane. It was the height of summer, and the orange-red sunset dyed half the sky red.
Yan Shao stood beside the helicopter, gazing sideways at the setting sun, which was mostly hidden. The sunset glow tinged half of his hair, and his handsome features were further accentuated by the light, making him appear even more dashing.
However, the originally handsome man exuded a sinister and violent aura due to his thick, knotted eyebrows and tightly pursed lips.
Two men in black rushed out of the European-style villa, stopped in front of Young Master Yan, and, slightly out of breath, respectfully called out in unison, "Master!"
Yan Shao turned his head, his sharp gaze sweeping across the two faces. "Any news?"
Along the way, he used a satellite phone to deploy a series of investigation and tracking plans, and the two people in front of him were the heads of the Tong family's businesses in H City.
The taller one is called Ma Peng, and the shorter one is called Tong Yong.
Yan Shao's few words made everyone quickly lower their heads.
"Sir, not yet..." the tall Ma Peng replied guiltily.
"What's the situation with Tong Feng?"
Although Yan Shao's tone wasn't very nice, he didn't mean to scold them. He strode towards the villa, and Ma Peng and Tong Yong quickly jogged after him.
“His father crossed the border from the south a few days ago, and his exact whereabouts are currently unknown.”
Yan Shao pondered for a moment. It wasn't impossible for the man surnamed Tong to cross the border from the south and then circle around to H City.
Tong Feng's father, Tong Deming, is Madam Yan's cousin. In fact, Young Master Yan should call him uncle. In his early years, he worked hard for Madam Yan and made many contributions. He has always been trusted and valued by Madam Yan.
However, after Yan Shao took over the Tong family's business, perhaps due to differing opinions or a generation gap, Tong Deming retired not long after Yan Shao took office, citing his advanced age. Tong Feng, on the other hand, had been helping his father manage the Tong family's business since he was a teenager. After his father left, he stayed.
Yan Shao sat down on the sofa in the inner room, took the hot tea handed to him by the maid, took a sip to moisten his throat, and then instructed Tong Yong, "Find out where Tong Deming is. If you can't find out openly, then try secretly."
Tong Yong turned to do his work, and Yan Shao put down his teacup, stood up and said to Ma Peng, "Prepare the car, you come with me."
Accompanied by Ma Peng, Yan Shao visited several respected elders, but they all expressed that they had not been in contact with either Old Madam Yan or Tong Deming for quite some time.
Yan Shao took Ma Peng to visit four senior figures in a row, and the answers they received were basically the same.
It was nearly 10 p.m. when Yan Shao left the fourth senior's house. Sitting in the car, preparing to head to the next senior's house, he gently pinched his brow, looking slightly tired, trying his best to recall which detail he had missed, which had led to his current predicament.
When Qin Xiu called, Yan Shao's car was still on its way to the fifth senior.
Before the other party could speak, Yan Shao asked, "Did you receive any phone calls?"
He meant calls involving kidnapping or extortion.
"No, but Miss Zhu did call to ask if Madam Yan and Mr. Yan had arrived home yet. I told her to wait for my call. After that, she asked me to tell you to take care of yourself no matter how busy you are."
Qin Xiu roughly repeated what Zhu Qianying had said, and Yan Shao simply gave a faint "hmm." Qin Xiu then went on to report some work-related matters.
Just before hanging up, Yan Shao suddenly said, "Call Zhu Qianying and tell her I'll contact her when I'm done with this."
"OK!"
For the first time, after his brain had been under intense tension for several hours, images of people who were not family members flashed through Yan Shao's mind so clearly.
If we don't explain this to her, she might go to the Yan family tomorrow to settle scores with him!
Yan Shao thought so.
The car continued forward, and when it turned right at the next intersection, it would find the person Yan Shao was looking for.
The phone rang again; this time, it was Tong Yong.
"Sir, we've found the old lady and you."
Upon hearing this, Yan Shao gestured for the driver to pull over, but asked, "Are they alright?"
"Yes, the old lady and the master are doing well!"
Yan Shao let out a long sigh of relief. "Where are they? I'm on my way."
"Presidential Suite A1 at the Seaview Hotel".
The Seaview Hotel is owned by the Tong family—no, now we should say, by the Yan family.
The A1 Presidential Suite has the most open view of all the rooms and has always been a luxury suite exclusively for Madam Yan.
At this point, Yan Shao had no time to guess his parents' purpose in suddenly transferring from the airport to the seaside hotel, nor did he care to complain about their willfulness. He was just secretly glad that his parents were safe and sound.
But his relief gradually turned into anger as he stepped onto the soft carpet at the seaside hotel.
I took the spare room key for room A1 from the front desk, pushed open the door and went in. I saw his mother, who was not young but quite beautiful, holding a white jade cup with her fingers delicately poised, appreciating flowers. The anger in my chest turned into a roar, "Tong Xiaohuai, you're making a fool of your son like a monkey, aren't you happy?"
As soon as he went to the front desk to get the room key, Madam Yan received a notification from the front desk that her beloved son had come all the way from L City.
She had already prepared herself for what to do, so when he roared, she calmly put down the white jade cup, reached out and pulled her tall son over, and somehow clenched her other hand into a fist and punched her precious son in the stomach!
Caught off guard, Yan Shao winced in pain, his brow furrowing, but he refrained from crying out.
"Tong Xiaohuai, what's gotten into you again!"
With a shout from Young Master Yan, the bathroom door opened, and a middle-aged man with a face somewhat similar to Young Master Yan appeared. While tightening the belt of his bathrobe, he looked at his wife and children, who were on the verge of a fight, and laughed, "What's wrong? It's only been ten days since we last met, and you're itching for a fight again?"
Clearly, the man was no longer surprised by the mother and son's unusual way of communicating, which resembled that of enemies.
"Dad, why don't you do anything about your wife? What's so fun about playing hide-and-seek?! Don't you know that if I can't find you by midnight, I'll tear this whole city down!"
Young Master Yan had nowhere to vent his anger, so he turned to yelling at his father. He couldn't do anything about his mother, but he was confident in his father.
Yan Wei walked over, put his arm around his wife's waist, and sat down next to her. "Your mother said that if you can't find us by midnight, she'll consider you a son who was born in vain!"
All men are equally wicked; in front of their wives, their sons are always something to be trampled on and betrayed!
Yan Shao roared twice, his anger subsiding a bit. He plopped down on the sofa, glaring fiercely at his mother who had been making a fool of him, and asked, "So, what trick are you up to this time?"
