Chapter 229 What does it mean to long for something so long?

Chen Jing and Zhu Qianyu seemed to have gotten used to his pampered lifestyle, as one of them called from the kitchen and the other from the living room quickly ran in.

Zhu Qianyu glanced at the food container in Yan Han's hand, asked no questions, took it without saying a word, turned around, put the food container in the microwave, and set the timer.

"Brother Yan, we'll be eating soon. Come out and have a cup of tea first."

Before Yan Han could say anything more, Chen Jing had already started to shoo him away.

"Yeah, you should get out of here. It's smoky and stuffy. Don't stay here."

Chen Jing wasn't just like this with Yan Han; she didn't even want her son-in-law, Ji Huan, to set foot in the kitchen.

It wasn't that she thought men shouldn't go into the kitchen, but rather that Takeozumi had instilled in her the impression that men were not good at cooking and didn't like going into the kitchen for over twenty years.

This applies to Yan Han, but not to the two all-around talented young masters of the Ji family.

As Yan Han left the kitchen, Zhu Qianyu remembered his fussy nature. "Brother Yan, the washroom is on the left side of the terrace."

When Yan Han finished washing his face and came out, Zhu Qian Yu was carrying a food storage container.

"Xiaoyu, Ji Huan told me that you're planning to shoot a film in the second half of the year and are looking for investors?"

Yan Han ate some snacks while chatting with Zhu Qianyu.

He wasn't particularly close to this sister-in-law; in comparison, he was much closer to the two young masters of the Ji family.

"Yes, that's right."

"Could I have a copy of the script?"

Zhu Qianyu was somewhat surprised, "Do you want to invest?"

Yan Han shook his head. "Yanhuang doesn't get involved in the film and television industry. However, the Tong family's financial company seems to have such intentions. Ke Kai, do you remember him? He's the one who wants to invest in film and television. I'll have him contact you later."

Ke Kai did mention to Yan Han that a portion of the finance company's funds could be used to invest in film and television.

Yan Han had no objection to this and continued to let Ke Kai do whatever he wanted. Because, like Qin Xiu, Ke Kai was a talented person who could be entrusted with important tasks.

Seeing Zhu Qianyu now suddenly reminded me of this matter. Anyway, investing in anyone is still investing, so if it's suitable, it's not a bad idea to do someone a favor.

Zhu Qianyu hesitated for a moment, but still agreed.

"Okay, I'll talk to him about the details later."

The two chatted casually, neither of them mentioning Zhu Qianying or Zizai.

Both sides knew perfectly well that the area was a minefield. Since neither side had found a suitable way to resolve or balance the relationship between the parties, both the Yan family and Zhu Qianying's side were willing to maintain a superficial peace and friendship in order to prevent the little guy, Zizai, from getting hurt.

Not long after Yan Han finished eating his snacks, he heard the doorbell ring. He guessed that it was the two elders from the Yan family arriving.

Zhu Qianyu went to open the door, and sure enough, it was Yan Bo and his wife. Behind them, three bodyguards were standing there carrying large and small boxes of gifts.

"Uncle and Aunt, welcome."

Yan Bo returned to Beijing a few days ago and just got back this morning. He hadn't seen his daughter-in-law for several years and was quite missing her, so he urged his wife to call Chen Jing as soon as possible.

As soon as Yanbo and his wife opened the door, they looked around, clearly searching for Zhu Qianying and Zizai.

Zhu Qianyu repeated what she had just said to Yan Han, and the Yan couple visibly breathed a sigh of relief.

They were actually afraid, afraid that Zhu Qianying would not want to see them again and would avoid them with various excuses.

Zhu Qianyu greeted the two elders as they entered the house. Chef Chen Jing had almost finished preparing dinner. Seeing that Zhu Qianyu and her son had not yet returned, she urged Zhu Qianyu to make a phone call to inquire.

Yan Han stood up and said, "I'll go downstairs and see, maybe he's downstairs."

Zhu Qianyu could only nod and put away the phone.

Zhu Qianying bought this apartment, which doesn't have an underground garage, so residents park their cars in the open space within the complex. Yan Han stood in front of the building, his eyes fixed on the direction of the main entrance. Every time a car entered, he carefully examined the car body and license plate.

At this moment, he finally understood what it meant to long for something so long.

Zhu Qianying was driving a mid-to-low-end sedan. Normally, in Yan Han's eyes, this car would really look like a broken tricycle parked on the side of the road.

But at this moment, he was eagerly waiting for the car that would drive in from the doorway, hoping it would be the same model that Zhu Qianying was driving.

Yan Han has only waited for people a handful of times in his life. After waiting for a few minutes, he couldn't help but feel a little irritated and subconsciously wanted to find a cigar to smoke.

He touched himself and realized that since the little guy came back, he had consciously reduced the number of times he smoked cigars because the little guy would usually frown and look disgusted after he finished smoking a cigar.

Originally, he wasn't exactly addicted. He would smoke one occasionally, either out of boredom, fatigue, or frustration.

But after learning that his son didn't like it, he consciously reduced his smoking or stopped smoking altogether.

Realizing he had nothing to amuse himself, Yan Han slowly strolled from the building to the main entrance.

Yan Han stood at the gate, looking at the main road outside. The road was bustling with traffic. He finally spotted a car of the same model, but it didn't seem to be turning in. Instead, it drove straight down the road.

The disappointment of being convinced that something was right, only to find out it wasn't, surged and subsided repeatedly in his heart like the ebb and flow of the tide within a few short minutes.

At the age of thirty-three, Yan Han had never waited for someone with such anxiety and unease.

Moreover, this waiting was entirely of his own free will, and was not driven by any external interests.

If one had to find a reason or a motive, it would be that his heart was driving him to stand in the bleak, cold wind, craning his neck like a child waiting at the door for his parents to return home late.

As Zhu Qianying drove Zizai closer to the gate of the residential area, she unexpectedly saw a tall figure that seemed familiar, standing outside the gate.

The man, dressed in a black sweater and a gray overcoat, with his hands in his coat pockets, was clearly a cool and handsome guy, but at this moment he was craning his neck and looking anxiously towards the road.

"Zizai, is that your daddy standing at the door?"

Zhu Qianying thought she was seeing things. After all, a man like Young Master Yan, others would be waiting for him, not for him to wait for others? That was utterly absurd!

The little boy was sitting in the back seat, engrossed in playing games, when he heard his mother say that, he pressed his little face against the car window and looked at it carefully.

Then, she pouted and said with a hint of disdain, "Idiot!"

He turned his face away, looked down, picked up his iPad, and continued playing his game.

Hearing the young master's arrogant and disdainful tone, even Zhu Qianying felt sorry for Young Master Yan.
