Chapter 396. Alright, good boy!

It took less than half an hour to get Zizai's certificate. Zhu Qianying asked Cheng Ye for half a day off, which meant she had half a day to spend with Zizai and take him around.

Zizai had a deep affection for this small town where he had lived for several years. During those thousand-plus days, Chen Jing and Zhu Qianying took him to almost every corner of the town.

So, after getting the certificate from the hospital, the two adults and the child strolled slowly around the town. When they passed a small park, the little boy excitedly told Yan Han, "Daddy, Mommy said I took my first steps here!"

After saying that, he dragged Yan Han to a small stone and said angrily, "This stone tripped me once, and I fell and scraped my skin and bled a lot!"

Yan Shao felt both sorry for him and amused.

Immediately, an image of a chubby little thing appeared in my mind, with a face similar to mine, crying pitifully after falling down. In a daze, I had the illusion that I had also participated in my son's growth.

After a while, they passed a fairly large and decent Chinese restaurant, and Zizai said, "Daddy, this is where Grandma works."

For Yan Han, who had only visited twice before, this town was originally completely unfamiliar. However, after Zizai's chattering explanations and annotations, Yan Han actually felt a sense of familiarity and warmth towards the town.

"Mommy, can you go back to work later and come back in the evening?"

While having lunch outside, Zizai said this to Zhu Qianying.

Zhu Qianying then remembered to ask Yan Han, "How many days do you plan to stay?" Subconsciously, she always thought that the father and son would return to China once they got the certificate, but hearing what her son said, it didn't seem like it.

Yan Shao didn't answer her directly, but instead patted Zizai's head, "We want to wait for you to go back together, right, baby!"

Zizai quickly nodded, "Yes, Daddy and I are here to keep Mommy company..." Then, realizing he had said something wrong, he stuck out his tongue and quickly lowered his head to eat his rice.

Zhu Qianying naturally noticed her son's guilty reaction.

However, she didn't intend to pursue the matter with her son. After all, he was only four years old, and it was perfectly normal for him to miss her.

"Is there any connection between studying and working?" Zhu Qianying glanced at the father and son.

A look of surprise flashed in both of their eyes. They exchanged a glance, and finally, it was Young Master Yan who spoke, "Are you really okay?"

Zhu Qianying nodded. She wasn't so clueless as to be completely oblivious to romance. These two had traveled a long way to see her, yet she had to throw a bunch of dogmas at them, ruining everyone's mood and destroying their good intentions.

Zhu Qianying quickly readjusted her work plan in her mind. "However, don't do this again next time. Also, I haven't had time to spend with you during the day these past few days. You guys make some plans, and I'll try to free up two days to go out and have fun with you."

The father and son nodded vigorously, and then the little one rushed over and hugged her neck, exclaiming, "Mommy is the best! I love you!"

As the little guy spoke, he didn't bother to wipe his hands or mouth. He directly touched Zhu Qianying's face with his greasy hands, and then brought his lips over, leaving a few lip prints on Zhu Qianying's face.

Yan Shao watched with a smile, unable to resist his germaphobia, he took out a wet towel, pulled his son's hands and wiped his face, and then replaced it with another one, very naturally sticking the wet towel to Zhu Qianying's face.

Zhu Qianying was slightly taken aback. She looked up and met his natural dark eyes. She wanted to look away, but then felt that she was being too coy, so she simply placed her hand on his and said, "I can do it myself!"

Unmoved, Yan Shao raised his other hand and lifted her chin. "Don't move, I'll do it!"

Zhu Qianying was forced to tilt her face slightly upwards towards him, in a posture that was as ambiguous as could be.

The little guy sandwiched between the two looked up and gave a knowing smile that said, "I know everything."

"Actually, I..." The rest of the words were abruptly cut off by the handsome face that was so close to her, and the next second, her lips were forcibly kissed by the man.

Although it was just a fleeting touch, the warmth of his lips and the faint fragrance of green tea seemed to linger on her lips.

"You still say that's not all!" The man's slightly hoarse warning rang in Zhu Qianying's ears.

The little guy, sandwiched between the two, had somehow snuggled into Yan Shao's arms, covering his mouth and giggling.

Zhu Qianying's face burned as if it were on fire. She was both angry and ashamed. She wanted to say something to refute Yan Shao or do something to show her resistance, but she was afraid that he would really do something more intimate and excessive in front of their son.

Left with no other choice, she could only let him lift her chin with one hand and use a wet towel in the other to wipe the oil off her face little by little.

It was just a small, greasy spot, but he wiped it with such focus, his burning gaze fixed on her face, making her face feel as hot as a red-hot iron plate.

The damp towel, soaked in mint water, left a cool sensation wherever it touched, while his fingertips would always intentionally or unintentionally brush against her cheeks, carrying his burning body heat, setting her skin a series of fires.

Zhu Qianying felt tormented by this conflict between ice and fire, but her stubborn nature made her unwilling to show weakness or back down.

Since there's no way to avoid it, then we'll just have to accept it!

Thinking this, she opened her eyes wide and stared straight at Yan Shao's handsome face, a face that made her want to tear it to shreds.

Her puffed-out cheeks and wide-eyed expression amused Yan Shao, who felt that she was just as adorable as his son, and he couldn't help but want to bite her cheek.

However, he wouldn't do something foolish that would scare people away.

He even maintained the same expression, calmly and attentively wiping her face.

"alright!"

Just as he was about to let go of her, she glared at him again. This time, Yan Shao couldn't resist. He lowered his head and accurately captured her lips, giving her a light nibble.

"Good boy!" The tone was almost like coaxing a child.

His lips were slightly upturned and his eyes were slightly curved. The faint smile on his face amused Zhu Qianying, and it fanned the fire in her heart. If it weren't for her son's presence, she would definitely have slapped him twice across the face.

Seeing the two flames burning in her eyes, Yan Shao knew when to stop. He straightened up and sat upright, threw the wet towel into the trash can, took out a clean one, wiped his hands clean, and then slowly drank his tea.

Zhu Qianying finally recovered from the complex emotions of resentment mixed with self-loathing. She lowered her eyes and gritted her teeth as she looked at her son, who was watching the show with amusement.

"Look what you've done!"

She glared fiercely at her son, pinching his chubby cheeks, but she couldn't bear to pinch him too hard!

The little guy, both proud and a little timid, let out a clear "giggle" laugh and buried his head in her arms.

The man who had done all those "bad" things acted as if nothing had happened, sipping his tea as he went.
