"Brother, look, their horns are moving..."
As Yan Shao walked out from the inner room, he heard Qin Xiu's daughter's voice and followed the sound.
Finally, I saw three mischievous children under the grape trellis in the backyard.
In the past, Yan Shao would not have been curious or concerned about what these children were playing or watching. In his view, those were all boring things that were a waste of time.
But now, under the influence of Zizai and even Zhu Qianying, he has unknowingly rediscovered much of his childlike innocence.
For example, now that he had confirmed the location of the children, he did not make a fuss. Instead, he tiptoed and followed the children's murmurs.
As you approach, you'll see three children squatting on the grass under the grape trellis, chatting happily in a circle.
Yan Shao bent down and took a closer look. It turned out that there was a snail crawling in the grass, its two antennae sticking out and probing left and right. Its timid and shrinking appearance made the children giggle.
Zizai held a long blade of grass and gently touched the snail's hard shell. "Hehe, its tentacles look like the tentacles of aliens receiving signals."
Yan Shao has always thought snails were disgusting and kept his distance from them, let alone actively approaching them to observe them.
But now, he stood quietly behind his son, listening to the little guy explain some scientific knowledge that even Yan Shao didn't know to his two younger siblings.
"Brother, I see its mouth moving. Is it eating lunch?" Qin Xiu's daughter pointed with a blade of grass to the area below the snail's antennae.
"Sister, it doesn't have teeth, does it?" Qin Xiu's two-year-old son, who looked chubby and sturdy, had none of his father's shrewdness.
"Little brother and sister, snails have teeth! In fact, they are the animals with the most teeth in the world. Although its mouth is about the size of the needle my grandma sews for me, it has more than 26,000 teeth. Look, there is a small hole a little below the middle of the snail's small tentacles. That is its mouth. Inside is a serrated tongue. Scientists call the snail's tongue a 'radula'."
The knowledge that Zizai shared with his younger siblings was something that not only the two little rascals didn't know, but even Yan Shao was hearing about it for the first time.
To be honest, Yan Shao doesn't remember much about things before he was two or three years old. However, he always felt that he was different from other silly kids and shouldn't be interested in small animals like snails or ants.
But now, seeing his son always looking at everything with such curiosity, he's gradually becoming less certain.
He even thinks that if he had never been curious about the animals around him before he was two or three years old, he would probably have been a very boring and old-fashioned little guy.
With that in mind, he had the idea of going home to ask his parents.
"Wow, it has so many teeth, it must be able to eat a lot!"
"Will it become a big fat person?"
"If it gets fat, will it still be able to live in this little house?"
As Yan Shao listened to the children's conversation, he couldn't help but chuckle softly.
The children all turned their heads at once. When they saw him, Qin Xiu's two little children called out in a clear voice, "Hello, Uncle Yan!"
"Little girl, listen carefully!"
When Zizai saw Yan Shao, he didn't say anything but stood up. Yan Shao was very uneasy, thinking that the little guy was still angry with him. Just as he was about to apologize, the little guy went around behind Yan Shao, climbed onto his back, and wrapped his arms around his neck from behind, looking very affectionate.
"Daddy, Zizai is so tired..." The soft voice melted Yan Shao's heart.
See? I told you this little guy is easygoing, his temper flares up and fades quickly. Look, he's already forgotten about the argument he had with his dad earlier.
Yan Shao patted his bottom with his other hand, "Shall we go back inside and play? Aunt Shan has prepared lots of delicious food for you."
The little guy hummed in agreement and pointed at the snail with his finger, "Daddy, can I take this snail home and keep it as a pet?"
In the past, Young Master Yan would have absolutely refused.
What's hard to raise? A disgusting snail?
But right now, he didn't feel there was anything wrong with it at all. He readily agreed, picked up a leaf from the grass, put the snail on the leaf, and handed it to Zizai.
"Take it."
Zizai carefully wrapped the snail inside, and Yan Shao stretched out his left and right hands to nimbly pick up Qin Xiu's two children.
"Alright, let's go inside and find something delicious to eat!"
A few minutes later, the people inside saw Yan Shao walk in from outside, carrying two children in his arms and one hanging on his back, looking just like a king of children.
Apart from Zhu Qianying, the other four were so shocked that they opened their mouths and couldn't speak.
"Mommy, I want to raise snails!"
Zizai spoke first, waking up the people in the room.
Zhu Qianying smiled at her son as if nothing had happened, "Well, then let's raise him!"
"Little girl, listen, come here quickly, let Daddy hug you!"
Startled awake, Qin Xiu quickly ran over and took the two children from Yan Shao's arms.
"Master, did those two kids tire you out?" Qin Xiu smiled apologetically at Young Master Yan.
He was afraid that his temper hadn't subsided yet, and if these two little brats caused more trouble, he would probably suffer a terrible fate.
"It's alright, how much can two kids weigh!"
Yan Shao showed no sign of blaming him. In fact, he had a faint smile on his face. The anger he had just felt had long since dissipated while he was watching snails with the children.
Qin Xiu nervously carried his children back to the living room, then looked back at his grandfather.
Yan Shao's mind was not on him at all, but on the little monkey on his back.
"Qin Xiu, go find a small glass jar."
Qin Xiu was immediately confused. "Sir, what do you need a glass tank for? To keep goldfish?"
Wait a minute, my master's villa has a large fish pond outside and a very beautiful tropical fish tank inside. How could such a small glass tank be worthy of my master's attention?
"Raise snails!"
Yan Shao's words nearly made Qin Xiu and Ke Kai's jaws drop.
The two stared at each other for a while before Qin Xiu finally reacted. He ran to the storage room, rummaged around for a few minutes, and then came out looking disheveled, carrying a glass vase.
"Sir, is this alright?"
Young Master Yan, naturally unsure whether it would work or not, patted the little guy's bottom that was still clinging to him and asked softly.
"Honey, how about this vase?"
Zizai glanced at the vase and nodded, "It's alright, I guess! Let's keep it for now!"
Qin Xiu was in tears. "Young Master, do you know that this vase cost me several thousand yuan? And you actually said you were reluctant to part with it!"
