Chapter 479. Strength Does Not Equal Coercion

With a flick of her chubby little hand, she pulled the blanket over herself, covering herself completely, leaving only her eyes darting around.

The young master's hesitant manner piqued the curiosity of the eldest young master, Yan.

"What's the rush? Your mommy isn't old!"

The young master yanked off the blanket and glared at him.

"You idiot, Uncle Cheng has already brought them back!"

Young Master Yan chuckled to himself!

It seems that having a son who is too smart is not necessarily a good thing.

At the very least, he didn't want his son to see him being pushed to the brink by a love rival.

It's not unreasonable for a grown man like him to want to save face in front of his four-year-old son, is it?

But her son is a shrewd person. Not only can he see through Cheng Ye's affairs, but he probably also sees through all those other people who have ill intentions towards his mother.

Anyway, none of my little actions and thoughts during this period have escaped the little guy's eyes.

"Okay, I understand. I promise I'll do my best so your mommy can buy me back sooner, okay?"

Young Master Yan's assurance finally satisfied and reassured the young master.

He muttered a few more complaints about Young Master Yan under his breath, and as he spoke, his eyelids slowly drooped. Then, the muttering stopped, and he started snoring.

Looking at the sleeping pig in front of him, Yan Shao couldn't help but smile. He lowered his head, kissed the pig on the cheek, covered him with the blanket, and then got up and got out of bed.

Zhu Qianying guessed correctly; he did stay tonight because he had something he wanted to talk to her about.

A moment later, there was a knock on Zhu Qianying's door.

Zhu Qianying opened the door, holding onto the door frame with one hand and the door with the other, her clear eyes looking at the man outside.

"What's up?"

The man nodded honestly, "Yes!"

Zhu Qianying turned slightly to the side and glanced outside.

The living room was empty.

After Zai Zai fell asleep, Chen Jing, who had been busy all day, naturally went to bed early after taking a shower.

Even so, after hesitating for a few seconds, Zhu Qianying stepped aside and let the man into the room.

Admittedly, Young Master Yan is a strong and domineering man.

But he's not the kind of man who likes to force people. At least for now, he won't force her in the slightest.

Having spent some time together and gained this understanding, Zhu Qianying felt very reassured and invited the person inside.

As Zhu Qianying had predicted, Yan Shao dragged the chair in front of the computer desk over and sat down after entering the room.

Zhu Qianying climbed onto the bed, grabbed a pillow and hugged it to her chest, then sat cross-legged facing Yan Shao.

"You called during the day because you were worried about me, right?"

Yan Shao had already asked about this on the phone.

Zhu Qianying honestly admitted it.

She felt there was nothing shameful about worrying about others, and there was nothing to hide about it.

Of course, this candor is only directed at people she can trust.

The man before her had already earned her trust through his words and actions.

"Yes, rumors are flying everywhere, with all sorts of nasty things being said. Even if they are just untrue rumors, they can't possibly have no impact on Yanhuang."

Zhu Qianying frankly expressed her inner thoughts.

Previously, she didn't want to know about him or about the Yellow Emperor, and she was even less willing to investigate.

But that was in the past.

Now that she clearly realizes that both his affairs and those of Yanhuang are enough to stir her emotions, she chooses to confront them rather than turn a blind eye.

Because she knew that neither running away nor staying put could fundamentally resolve the restlessness and unease in her heart.

Instead of speculating and suffering in private, it's better to just ask him directly.

He will speak if he can. And he will not reveal to her anything he cannot.

Her honesty pleased Yan Shao greatly.

This also indirectly shows that his strategy of retreating to advance during this period was the right one.

"Ying'er, those rumors outside are indeed all rumors. As for the impact you're worried about, it would be a lie to say there's none at all. But believe me, in a few days, I will make up for the losses these rumors have caused me a hundredfold or a thousandfold!"

Yan Shao's expression was very firm, and his gaze as he stared at her was as deep and focused as ever.

No matter how sharp-tongued or sarcastic this man may be, he cannot hide his calm and reliable nature.

Zhu Qianying was now completely relieved.

"Okay, I understand!"

I thought that Young Master Yan would stop here.

After all, if we talk about it again, it will be a confidential matter of the Yanhuang Group.

But then, Yan Shao poured out the whole story to Zhu Qianying, explaining in detail the ins and outs of the incident and how he dealt with it.

The more she listened, the stronger Zhu Qianying's admiration and respect for this man became.

This man was able to stand at the top for more than a decade in an era full of powerful figures, and that was not due to luck.

Yan Shao patiently explained all his thoughts and plans. Seeing her looking down and deep in thought, he asked her another question.

"So, do you understand now?"

Zhu Qianying raised her head, stared at his face for a few seconds in a daze, and then nodded, "Yes, I understand everything."

Her eyes, as always, were clear as water, but beneath that calm surface, there seemed to be a subtle, hidden movement.

Yan Shao breathed a sigh of relief and stood up, using the handrail for support.

In an instant, the tall, backlit figure transformed into a shadow, completely enveloping Zhu Qianying in darkness. Before she could react, the man, whose expression was obscured by the backlight, leaned over, supporting himself on the bed with one hand and placing the other over her head.

Zhu Qianying stared at him in astonishment, feeling extremely passive for a moment. The only thing that remained active was her eyelids blinking.

The warm breath grew closer, but Zhu Qianying didn't even have the thought of running away.

She blinked, watching his face grow larger and larger in front of her until she felt a warm touch on her lips.

Only a few words flashed through her mind: Damn, I got kissed!

But this kiss was merely a fleeting touch, the warm lips lightly brushing against hers, leaving a tingling sensation like an electric current.

The man pulled away from her lips, leaned close to her ear, and whispered, "Alright, stop thinking about it, go to sleep!"

After saying that, she placed a light kiss on his earlobe.

Zhu Qianying trembled slightly involuntarily. Whether Yan Shao noticed her tremor was unknown.

Anyway, after he finished kissing her, he suddenly straightened up and gently rubbed her head with his large hand.

"Good night!" After saying that, she turned around and walked out without looking back.
