Chapter 572. We'll get it all back for you.

Chen Jing wasn't lying. After watching Bai Xiangdong finish his meal, she helped him tidy up and then left readily.

Bai Xiangdong felt a little relieved. "Shadow, talk to your mother. I can eat and sleep well now. There's no need for her to come over every day. The restaurant business is just getting on track. We don't want anything to go wrong."

Bai Xiangdong would take Chen Jing to various markets early every morning to shop, knowing best how much effort she had put into the restaurant. Therefore, he was even more unwilling to let her neglect the restaurant's business because of his matter.

"Uncle Dong, how can my mother work in peace if you don't let her come to see you even once?"

On her way home from the hospital last night, Chen Jing kept talking about what kind of soup she would make for Bai Xiangdong and what kind of meals she would prepare.

If I tell her not to come now, will she give up? Will she feel at ease?

Bai Xiangdong remained silent, staring out the window for a long while in a daze.

Zhu Qianying remained silent, pondering what Bai Xiangdong had just said.

"Shadow, from now on, please take good care of Xiao Shao and Xiao Lu Zi for me."

Bai Xiangdong's sudden words gave the impression that he was making his final arrangements.

"Uncle Dong, you need to get better soon. I'm not going to take care of your precious daughter and granddaughter."

Zhu Qianying, who was peeling an apple for him, deliberately acted very annoyed.

Many people believe that the human will to survive stems from a longing for happiness.

But often, it's actually because of responsibility.

But Bai Xiangdong clearly saw through her trick and ignored her completely, continuing on his way.

“If I had known it would turn out like this, I would have found a mother for Xiaoshao back then. She didn’t have a mother back then, and now, Xiaoluzi doesn’t have a father.”

"Uncle Dong, there is no necessary connection between the two, so don't blame yourself. Believe me, Xiao Shao has been very happy all these years, and she is just as happy with Xiao Luzi."

No one knows this better than Zhu Qianying.

When she had Zizai, aside from the initial hesitation, everything that happened because of the little guy was a source of happiness for Zhu Qianying.

Even enduring intense labor pains couldn't erase the immense joy and happiness this little life brought her.

I believe that Bai Xiaolu holds the same existence and significance for her friends.

Not long after Chen Jing left, Yan Shao, who had left Tongjia Village, arrived at the hospital.

He was very responsible; he first went to the doctor to find out about Bai Xiangdong's condition, and then went to the ward to visit Bai Xiangdong.

He and Bai Xiangdong had never interacted much, and at this moment, he had no intention of trying to get close to Bai Xiangdong. After entering the room, he only exchanged a few polite words before sitting down on the small sofa and listening to Zhu Qianying and Bai Xiangdong inquiring about some old stories from her mother's childhood.

In Yan Shao's opinion, no matter how nice the words are, nothing is better than actually helping Bai Xiangdong find a good doctor, although, for the time being, that is a bit difficult.

Not long after Yan Shao entered, Bai Xiangdong urged Zhu Qianying to leave quickly.

"I'm sleepy, you guys should go eat too."

Zhu Qianying stayed there for most of the morning and saw that Bai Xiangdong was in good spirits and had no discomfort. In addition, there was a male caregiver looking after him, so she really had nothing to worry about.

"Uncle Dong, we'll be going now. You get some rest, and I'll come see you again tomorrow!"

It was nearly 1 p.m. when they came out of the hospital. Knowing that Zhu Qianying couldn't go hungry, Yan Shao asked for her opinion and then had the driver stop the car in front of a dumpling restaurant on the side of the road.

Young Master Yan rarely frequents such noisy places.

Fortunately, the lunch rush had passed, and there were very few customers in the dumpling restaurant.

Zhu Qianying seemed quite familiar with the place. As soon as they entered, she took his hand and led him straight to the back, to a seat near the window and close to the road.

While waiting for the waiter to bring tea and order food, Zhu Qianying told Yan Shao everything Bai Xiangdong had told her that morning about her mother's family.

Yan Shao listened silently the whole time, and in the end, he just held her hand and said, "Don't worry, I will get all of these back for you."

Previously, Zhu Qianying always felt that Yan Shao was short-tempered, domineering, and unreasonable.

But during her time back, as she got to know him better, she discovered that his temper was more pronounced in personal matters. In business matters, he was almost always calm, composed, and confident.

For example, his reaction right now gave Zhu Qianying the feeling that he already knew what she was talking about.

"You knew about this?"

Now, Zhu Qianying no longer hides her feelings in front of Yan Shao, because she knows that she can feel completely at ease revealing her inner thoughts in front of this man.

Yan Shao shook his head. "No, I didn't know before you told me. However, it's not surprising that someone like Zhu Junwei would do something like this."

Zhu Qianying agreed with this point.

"A long time ago, when we first met you, my mother and I looked at your resume for the first time and we thought that Zhu Zhizhou was completely wasting his talents, treating a talent like you as worthless while treating a good-for-nothing like Zhu Junzhao as a treasure. But it turns out that the real prince has been hiding behind all along."

Zhu Qianying also realized that she had really misjudged the situation.

"Don't tell me you know nothing about Zhu Junwei. I share the same father as him and have lived under the same roof for quite some time, and I never realized he was so treacherous."

"Once Uncle Dong finds that old neighbor, Kai and I will meet with him. I'll arrange the rest later."

"Well, don't tell my mom about this yet. I'm afraid she won't be able to handle it if there's bad news."

Even if the outcome is an irreversible bad result, Zhu Qianying would rather let her mother regret it for the rest of her life, so that at least she would believe that her parents and brother are living happily somewhere.

"I understand! Also, it seems impossible to find that Dr. Zhao whom Bai Shao asked me to do before. I am now trying to ask someone abroad to contact relevant authoritative experts, hoping to get a reply as soon as possible."

He just checked on Bai Xiangdong's condition. The doctor said that Bai Xiangdong's condition is quite serious, and if surgery is needed, it should be done as soon as possible.

The dumplings were served quickly. Both of them were hungry, so they didn't say anything more and just buried their heads in eating the dumplings.

"Was your dumpling delicious?"

Zhu Qianying, that foodie, was eating the mushroom and meat filling she ordered herself, but she was staring at Yan Shao's bowl with bright, sparkling eyes. She was a typical case of wanting what she had while eating what was in the pot.

"Try it!"

Yan Shao, always a man of action, didn't explain further, but directly picked up a beef dumpling and put it into Zhu Qianying's mouth.

The dumplings were still hot. Zhu Qianying, after eating one, was panting like a puppy. After she finished eating the dumpling, Yan Shao picked up another one and held it to her mouth.
