Chapter 723. Will you hate me?

Zizai said he missed his grandparents, and that afternoon, Yanbo and his wife actually came back.

After finishing his afternoon nap, Zizai got up by himself, saw his parents' shadows in the bedroom, and ran barefoot out of the living room.

From afar, they could hear familiar voices, and the little one's initial panic at not seeing his parents after waking up vanished completely.

"Grandpa and Grandma, Zizai misses you so much!"

The little guy shouted as he ran towards the center of the living room.

The Yan couple, who were talking to Zhu Qianying and Yan Shao, quickly stood up and walked over to him.

Yan Bo and Madam Yan hadn't walked far when Zizai ran up to them, jumped into their arms, rubbed against one belly a few times, and then turned to rub against the other's belly.

"Have you slept enough, baby?"

Madam Yan gently stroked the hair of the little one who had buried his head in her belly, her eyes reddening.

They actually returned shortly after Zai Zai fell asleep. They went in to check on him, and then, not wanting to disturb him, they all sat down in the living room and chatted about what had been happening lately.

The injury on Zai Zai's face hadn't fully healed yet, so the fact that he had disappeared for a day and a night during his trip couldn't be kept secret at all.

Young Master Yan and Zhu Qianying tried to explain the matter briefly, but how could Yan Bo and Old Madam Yan be so easily fooled?

Under interrogation from the two elders, Yan Shao and Zhu Qianying had no choice but to recount the entire story, including Zizai's current situation, in detail.

As Madam Yan listened, she wiped away her tears. After finally stopping them, the little boy ran out.

"Grandma, you and Grandpa are back, why didn't you wake me up?" the little guy complained, pouting and looking up.

When Madam Yan saw the scratches and bruises on his once fair and tender face, the tears she had just stopped welled up again.

She quickly turned her face away and didn't answer the little guy. Yan Bo secretly patted her shoulder, squatted down and pulled Zizai in front of him.

"Because Grandpa and Grandma will be spending a long, long time with you this time, we're not in a hurry to wake you up."

Zizai was still not very happy, "But Zizai misses you all so much..."

Seeing the purplish-red marks on the little guy's face, Yan Bo felt bad. He hugged the little guy and tried to lift him up with his arms.

The little guy, however, was quite self-aware. He quickly wriggled out of Yan Bo's arms like an eel, then took Yan Bo's hand in one hand and Grandma Yan's hand in the other, saying, "Grandpa and Grandma, let's go sit down and chat!"

Just a moment ago he was a pouting, willful little brat, but now he's as sensible as an adult.

Mommy once told him that his grandparents and mother-in-law were all elderly people, and their bones were more fragile than those of young people, so they couldn't hold him.

He must remember those words very well.

Only after leading the two elderly people to the sofa and watching them sit down did he climb up and snuggle up to Madam Yan, acting coquettishly.

"Grandma, do you know that Bai Xiaolu went home with her grandparents..."

This matter has been bothering the little guy ever since.

Grandma Yan gently stroked his back with affection. "Yes, Grandma knows. Just like Grandpa and Grandma worry about Zizai, Xiaolu's grandpa and Grandma also think about her, right?"

The little guy nodded, "Zizai knows, but..."

He understands the reasoning, but he still can't get over the fact that his playmate suddenly left without warning.

"Brother Beibei and Sister Guoguo said they're coming to see Zizai, are you happy to welcome them?"

Having already learned the whole story of Bai Xiaolu's abduction, Madam Yan knew that, for the time being, there was no way to explain Bai Xiaolu's situation.

Therefore, Madam Yan had no choice but to awkwardly steer the conversation in another direction.

Most children's attention is easily diverted, and Zizai was no exception. After hearing what Grandma Yan said, he immediately looked expectant.

"Really? Of course you're welcome!"

Yan Bo and his wife breathed a slight sigh of relief when they saw their grandson's overjoyed expression.

Actually, the two of them arrived in R City early this morning. Originally, they planned to accompany Letong and Ji Rui to finish up the remaining matters before returning to L City. However, the Ji brothers, Ji Yu and Ji Huan, advised them to return to L City as soon as possible, saying that they would help their parents finish up the remaining matters.

When they returned, they learned of the serious incident that had happened to their grandson. They immediately regretted not having questioned him more thoroughly when they called home every day.

During their trip abroad, besides building some clinics in those underdeveloped areas as originally planned, they unexpectedly learned about Le Tong's father, Le Ming.

Unfortunately, when they arrived at the location based on the information they received, they were told that Le Ming had been infected many years ago while treating patients and had died far from home.

The group of people who came with Le Ming at that time almost all perished due to the war and plague. As a result, news of Le Ming's whereabouts and death could not be reported back to China.

Le Tong and Ji Rui retrieved their father's belongings and ashes from the local government and rushed back to R City, while Yan Bo and his wife stayed by their side throughout the process.

The group of four originally planned to return to R City and send Le Tong's mother's ashes back to Beijing for burial in the Yang family's cemetery.

However, Yan Bo and his wife were persuaded by the Ji brothers, who came to pick them up, in the airport terminal to buy tickets back to L City and transfer to another plane to fly back to L City.

Because of Yanbo and his wife's return, Zizai was very excited for most of the day. In the evening, he even took Xingxing's hand and said he wanted to take his grandparents for a walk on the beach.

All told, Yanbo and his wife had only been here two or three times. Before that, they didn't have much time to wander around. Now that their grandson was being so attentive, they happily followed him into the house.

Zhu Qianying was preparing dinner in the kitchen, and Yan Shao sat down next to her at the counter to chat with her.

The two of them were talking about nothing more than their son, Zizai.

"Ying'er, if one day I were to kill the entire Zhu family, would you hate me?"

Regarding the Zhu family, Yan Shao was actually not quite sure where the line of Zhu Qianying's hatred lay.

Because, according to Zhu Qianying's account transactions, until recently, Zhu Qianying was still buying Mingxuan Group's shares when they were low.

"No! If they deserve it. And you have to promise me you'll be safe when you lay a hand on them."

Zhu Qianying never harbored any expectations of the Zhu family. The reason she gave Yan Shao such a special reminder was not because she looked down on him, but because Zhu Junwei was still unfathomable to her.
