Private tutor? University students need private tutors?
Yan Bo became increasingly confused. Although, according to the information, Tong Xiaohuai did not get into L University with particularly outstanding grades, it was still too early for her to hire a tutor.
"It's not a university course; I just wanted to learn some accounting and finance knowledge, so I hired a tutor."
After having dinner together that night, Tong Xiaohuai no longer felt the same way about Yan Bo. Just as Yan Bo had said, she started chatting with him like an ordinary friend.
Yan Bo, on the other end of the phone, had no idea that Tong Xiaohuai didn't have many friends her own age, even those she just chatted with casually like this.
"Is that so? Is there anything you don't understand? You can bring your textbook and questions with you, and we can have dinner together. I'll see if I can help you."
"You understand financial matters?"
Tong Xiaohuai was quite surprised, but as soon as the question left her mouth, she immediately felt like an idiot. A man with such exceptional intelligence as Yan Bo, having chosen to go into business, shouldn't he naturally have some financial knowledge?
"They definitely wouldn't understand anything too profound, but they should be fine with common sense questions."
For some reason, Tong Xiaohuai felt that Yan Bo's answer was overly modest.
Where are you now? Find a restaurant near you, I'm coming over now.
After chatting with Tong Xiaohuai for a while, Yan Bo assumed that Tong Xiaohuai had tacitly agreed to have dinner together. With the phone tucked between his shoulder and arm, he deftly tidied up the documents on the table, grabbed his bag and keys, and then, as if remembering something, turned around and pulled out a book on the company's accounting management from the bookshelf behind him and stuffed it into his bag.
"I'm near Lan Kwai Road, but I'm not sure what good food is around here."
Tong Xiaohuai, on the other hand, seemed to have been completely swayed by Yan Bo's words and had forgotten that she had never formally agreed to have dinner with this man.
"What would you like to eat? I'll make a reservation."
Yan Bo had already left the office and quietly closed the door.
The employees working in the lobby all looked up at their ridiculously young boss, who was beaming with joy.
"Whatever, I'm not an expert on food." Tong Xiaohuai glanced at the book that had been lying in front of her for over half an hour without her turning a page, and felt slightly annoyed.
Perhaps she really doesn't have the talent for this; she couldn't understand the contents of this page no matter how many times she looked at it.
Forget it, I'll just take it to Yanbo for advice. Anyway, he seems to know everything.
Thinking this, Tong Xiaohuai marked the pages with bookmarks, put the book in her backpack, and then glanced at the ledger with many red lines on it lying next to her. After thinking for a moment, she put it in her backpack as well.
"Uncle Ming, I have made an appointment for dinner. Please tell Uncle Yuan when you get back."
Tong Xiaohuai walked out of the money exchange's office with her backpack on and said to Qin Ming, who was sitting outside chatting with the money exchange manager.
Uncle Ming was taken aback, because in the more than half a month he had been following Tong Xiaohuai, this was the first time she had gone out for a social event. He didn't pay attention to his supervisor's question and went straight over to look at her with concern.
"Who did you invite to dinner? Why so suddenly? I haven't heard you mention it before!"
It's not that he's being nosy, but rather, she's such a beautiful young girl, if he doesn't keep a close eye on her, what would he do to explain to his elder brother and sister-in-law if something happened to her?
Tong Xiaohuai had nothing to hide and treated Yan Bo as just an ordinary friend.
Although, she had never had any ordinary friends like this before, with whom she could eat and chat.
"Uncle Ming, I've arranged to have dinner with Yan Bo and also to ask him some questions about the accounts. The driver can take me there; you can go home for dinner soon."
After giving her instructions, Tong Xiaohuai swished her backpack and walked out, leaving Uncle Ming standing there, staring at her retreating figure in a daze for a while.
It took him a while to come to his senses, and he turned to the main pipe, who had also witnessed the incident, and asked, "Don't you think the young lady seems to have grown up?"
The manager smiled and said, "Mr. Ming, the young lady has grown up, and many brothers secretly admire her, but no one dares to cross the line."
Uncle Ming smiled wryly. It seemed that only in his eyes would this girl always be that tomboy with pigtails who was even more mischievous than boys.
"You dare to make a move on the young lady? Don't even mention that the boss won't let you off easily, I won't let you off lightly either!" Uncle Ming glared at the manager.
"How dare we? At the very least, only a dashing young master like Young Master Yan is worthy of our young lady. We mere mortals can just watch from the sidelines and offer our blessings."
Uncle Ming's expression softened a bit, but when he recalled everything he had found out about this Third Young Master Yan, he couldn't help but worry again.
Admittedly, if Xiao Huai could marry this Young Master Yan, it would be an excellent outcome for both her and the Tong family. However, their family backgrounds are not only vastly different, but can even be described as opposing forces.
So, is it really okay to let the two of them continue to get to know each other naturally?
Uncle Ming was both happy and worried about this matter. The more he thought about it, the more uneasy he became. He turned around and went into his office to call Boss Tong, explaining the matter in detail. He believed that Boss Tong understood the pros and cons better than he did.
“Amin, marriage is a matter of fate. If it is destined to be him, we cannot stop it even if we try to bring them together. If it is not him, we will not succeed even if we try to match them up. Let nature take its course.”
Since the father had said so, Qin Ming didn't say anything more. He then asked about his eldest son and sister-in-law's situation abroad and learned that everything was stable and they were just waiting for the doctor to schedule the surgery. Reassured, he hung up the phone.
Uncle Ming was extremely worried about the little girl's situation, while Tong Xiaohuai herself walked into the restaurant with her backpack without any suspicion. After the waiter asked her what was going on, he led her into a private room.
"Please have a seat, Miss. Mr. Yan will be here in about ten minutes."
Tong Xiaohuai said thank you and took out the book that was giving her a headache from her large backpack.
"Xiao Huai, I'm sorry I'm late."
Hearing the apology coming from the doorway, Tong Xiaohuai closed her book and turned to face Yan Bo's apologetic face.
"I just arrived a little while ago. It's nothing, please have a seat."
Yan Bo strode over and sat down in the chair she had pushed open.
His breathing was slightly disordered; one could imagine he must have jogged in.
"You ran in?" Tong Xiaohuai raised an eyebrow, looking at him with amusement.
Come to think of it, he had always given her the impression of being calm and composed in the face of adversity, so this loss of composure was really unlike him.
Yan Bo was very happy. After ten days apart, she had not only not become distant from him, but instead, she treated him like a good friend and even knew how to tease him.
