Chapter 913. Entrusting with Peace of Mind

Shen Weiyao got up at around six o'clock and stood outside Tong Xiaohuai's door, knocking on it.

"Sister-in-law, Miss and Young Master Yan went for a morning run together."

Shen Weiyao paused for a moment, then smiled and shook her head, "As expected of young people, they have plenty of energy."

Tong Laoda, who had just come out of the bedroom, was puzzled. He walked over and put his arm around Shen Weiyao, saying, "Who are you talking about who has the drive so early in the morning?"

Shen Weiyao leaned gently against him and smiled, "Xiao Huai and Xiao Yan went out for a morning run early this morning."

Tong Laoda, unimpressed, put his arm around her and led her to the living room, saying, "Young people, you have too much energy."

When the two energetic young men returned from their run, Mr. and Mrs. Tong had already finished breakfast and were chatting in the living room.

"Good morning, Aunt Tong and Aunt Tong!"

Good morning, Dad and Mom!

Yan Bo and Tong Xiaohuai greeted the two in unison, then ran back to their respective rooms to take a shower, their heads covered in sweat.

Shen Weiyao looked at the backs of the two young people with great curiosity, "Where do you think they ran off to? In this cold weather, they're sweating profusely."

Tong Laoda was casually flipping through the newspaper, not particularly interested in her question, and simply replied, "Let's have a competition!"

Shen Weiyao thought about it and felt it made sense. But soon, she became worried again.

"Wouldn't it be embarrassing for Xiao Yan to lose to Xiao Huai?"

Shen Weiyao was unaware of Yan Bo's background. She only knew that her precious daughter's fighting skills were unmatched by many among the younger generation of the Tong family. Although Yan Bo was tall and imposing, he was ultimately just a businessman and couldn't compare to her daughter.

Tong Laoda continued reading the newspaper, but retorted, "You're overthinking it!"

Shen Weiyao didn't quite understand what he meant. "Hmm? Isn't that right? Think about it, if I raced you and I won without giving an inch, wouldn't you feel embarrassed?"

Tong Laoda flipped the newspaper to the other side, "Yanbo won't lose..."

Shen Weiyao didn't know where his confidence came from. "That's not necessarily true. Look at all the young men in our Tong family, they still lost to Xiao Huai. Although Xiao Yan is tall, he has a refined and gentle appearance. It's not surprising that he lost."

Tong Laoda listened to her long string of words, looked up at her, and said, "Yanbo is not what you think. In short, I say he won't lose."

Tong Laoda used to be proud of his precious daughter's skills, so why is he suddenly becoming arrogant and losing his own pride?

"You're acting strangely today. Why are you so sure? Did you watch them race before?"

"How is that possible?" The usually impatient Boss Tong buried himself back in his newspaper. "Yan Bo is far more skilled than Xiao Huai. How could Xiao Huai possibly beat him in a sport like running, which is a test of endurance?"

Tong Laoda himself did not investigate Yan Bo much. At first, he only knew that Yan Bo was the youngest son of the old Yan family in Beijing.

Later, Qin Ming saw that Yan Bo was pursuing Tong Xiaohuai very closely, so he sent someone to investigate Yan Bo's past.

However, the Yan family still protected this young master very well. Most of what Qin Ming investigated was just Yan Bo's experiences abroad.

This also includes Yanbo's award-winning experiences in several international Sanda and shooting competitions he participated in during his studies abroad.

Even though Boss Tong always thought his daughter was incredibly skilled, there's always someone better in this world, and Yan Bo was that mountain that was a bit higher than his daughter.

Therefore, even though Tong Laoda has been lukewarm towards Yan Bo for so many days since he returned, he is actually at ease entrusting his daughter to Yan Bo.

Shen Weiyao looked him over carefully for a few moments. "How did you know?"

Tong Laoda raised his eyelids and glanced at her, saying indifferently, "Would I let him into our house so easily without thoroughly investigating him?"

It seems Yanbo is quite remarkable. It's only been a little over half a month since he and his daughter became a couple. He has already gained the approval of the elders and quickly moved in together. Although they sleep in separate rooms, the speed is still incredibly fast.

Shen Weiyao stared wide-eyed at Boss Tong, "You know about Xiao Yan's family affairs?"

Tong Laoda neither nodded nor shook his head, and said vaguely, "Didn't Xiao Yan say that too? His older brother also said some things that day, just like what the two brothers said."

Even when they were in the capital, Yan Bo and Yan Yuan always kept a low profile. So, when Yan Yuan mentioned his work to Shen Weiyao that day, he only said that he worked in a government department in a neighboring city.

Regarding their father, the brothers only said that he was an official.

Shen Weiyao thought that so-called officials were probably just section chiefs or bureau chiefs in local government agencies.

Little did she know that the brothers' father was a high-ranking official who was a household name in the country.

Tong Laoda didn't tell his wife the truth because he didn't want her to worry unnecessarily.

Shen Weiyao was once again fooled by Boss Tong's words.

"Dad, Mom, have you had breakfast?"

After taking a shower, Tong Xiaohuai casually braided her long hair into a side braid and walked over, looking very refreshed. She wrapped her arms around her mother's neck and rested her head on her mother's shoulder.

Tong's mother patted her hand, "Yes, we've already eaten. You and Xiao Yan go eat quickly, then pack up and we'll leave around nine o'clock."

As the mother and daughter were talking, Yanbo also came out from the corridor.

"Xiao Yan, were you and Xiao Huai racing just now?"

Yan Bo looked at her in surprise, "Yes, Aunt Tong, how did you know?"

Yan Bo had no intention of competing with Tong Xiaohuai, but the little girl was indignant and insisted on a showdown with him.

Yan Bo had no choice but to compete with her, but he knew in his heart that there was a difference in physical strength between men and women, and if they really put their strength into it, Tong Xiaohuai would definitely be at a disadvantage.

Just as he was thinking about releasing the water, Tong Xiaohuai warned him that if he did, she wouldn't see him for a week.

Yan Bo reluctantly played several rounds with her, and each time, Tong Xiaohuai lost miserably.

That's why they both came back drenched in sweat.

"Just a guess! Xiao Huai is very competitive; she wants to challenge everyone she meets."

Shen Weiyao didn't say that this little girl hadn't encountered many opponents before, but this time, she had clearly met a real master.

"Mom, that's not called a decisive battle, that's called a friendly exchange."

Thinking about the repeated results of the match, Tong Xiaohuai felt a little bored. She let go of Chen Weiyao and ignored Yan Bo, then walked to the dining room to have breakfast.

Yanbo was about to say something when Tong's mother waved to him, signaling him to hurry up and have breakfast.

"Are you angry?" Yan Bo chased after her and tugged at the little girl's arm.

"You have to accept the consequences of your bet. If you lose, you lose. Why get angry?"

Tong Xiaohuai raised her head, glared at him, and with a flick of her hand, shook off his arm and walked into the dining room.
