Chapter 937. I Only Like You.

When Yan Bo finally managed to look away, he was met with Tong Xiaohuai's complicated gaze.

"What's wrong? Does it taste bad?"

When Yanbo saw that she was frowning, his first thought was that the food didn't suit her taste.

Tong Xiaohuai's probing gaze swept over his face a few times before she forced herself to swallow the meat in her mouth.

Yan Bo rarely saw her force herself to swallow like this, so he assumed that her steak didn't taste or taste very good. He reached out and moved the plate in front of her over, then picked up his own and placed it in front of her.

"Try mine, it tastes great and the texture is very tender."

Tong Xiaohuai remained silent, only staring at him quietly for a while before putting down her knife and fork under his puzzled gaze.

"Yanbo, do you think I'm uncultured and lack manners?"

Tong Xiaohuai has never been one to keep her feelings to herself. Right now, she's feeling very uneasy, and if she doesn't get to the bottom of things, she probably won't be able to sleep tonight.

Yan Bo was stunned, and for a long time, he couldn't understand why she suddenly asked that question.

"I didn't! What are you thinking? In my heart, you've always been wonderful!"

Tong Xiaohuai knew she was being unreasonable, but seeing him staring intently at the girl made her feel extremely uncomfortable.

She has never been an insecure person. Even though there are many people around her who are good at dressing up and have various talents, she never feels that she is inferior to others.

But just now, she had to admit that she was a little jealous of the girl on the stage. She was also a little annoyed with herself for only learning things that only men would learn from her father since she was a child, without ever thinking of taking a little time to cultivate her temperament and learn some more elegant skills, such as playing the zither, chess, calligraphy, or painting.

Before today, she never felt she needed to have these things.

But Yanbo's admiration for the girl deeply stung her.

"The one behind..." Tong Xiaohuai pointed to the stage behind him.

Yan Bo still didn't quite understand, "Huh?"

Tong Xiaohuai bit her lip and said, "Is that what you like and admire?"

Yan Bo looked at her carefully, then at what was behind her, his gaze shifting before returning to her face.

Tong Xiaohuai held her breath and stared at him intently, afraid that he would actually nod and tell her that he did indeed prefer girls with the temperament of a violinist.

Yan Bo stared at her intently. After confirming her meaning, he felt a surge of joy, which was gradually mixed with a touch of heartache.

He didn't answer her question. Instead, he stood up, and under her increasingly confused gaze, walked over to her and sat down next to her.

Tong Xiaohuai turned to look at him; she was still there, waiting for his answer.

Yanbo bumped her with his butt, signaling her to move over a bit.

Once Tong Xiaohuai had made enough room, he sat down next to her, put his arm around her shoulder, pulled her closer, and sighed softly in her ear.

"Xiao Huai, what are you thinking about now? If I liked someone like her, I wouldn't have taken so long to find a girlfriend. Yes, I admire her skills, but I don't like her type."

Tong Xiaohuai slightly raised her chin, her eyes flashing with uncertainty.

Yan Bo gently pinched her chin, lifted her face up, lowered his head, and kissed her lips.

"From childhood to adulthood, the only person I've ever loved is you."

Tong Xiaohuai blinked. "You don't think I'm a complete idiot or a roughneck?"

Who doesn't know how to say sweet words between lovers? The only problem is that he might be blinded by love and ignore her true nature.

Yan Bo glared at her. "Who said you're a roughneck? You're just straightforward."

Tong Xiaohuai wasn't quite convinced. "Then you don't think I'm uneducated and lack even the slightest bit of the refinement of a well-bred lady?"

Yanbo felt somewhat helpless. She was never an insecure person, but today, was she being discouraged because of a violinist?

“Fool, what does it mean to be a well-bred lady? In my eyes, you are considerate and understanding, and you have more knowledge and experience than your peers.”

Tong Xiaohuai's confidence finally returned somewhat, "Really?"

Yan Bo tapped her nose. "Of course it's true. You have to understand, how could someone with my discerning eye possibly be interested in someone inferior?"

After being coaxed and kissed by him, Tong Xiaohuai finally believed that he truly only liked her type.

"You are unique, and no one can compare to you!"

Seeing that the gloom on her face had finally dissipated and her smiling face was quite lovely, Yan Bo couldn't help but lower his head and peck her lips again.

After Tong Xiaohuai's unease and jealousy were completely soothed, she nudged him with her elbow and said, "Hey, sit back down. If you sit here, no one will get anything to eat."

Yan Bo obediently sat back down opposite him, and the food that he had just switched was returned.

"No need to change it?"

Tong Xiaohuai shook her head, "We didn't need to, the steak was delicious!"

Yan Bo then dared to tease her, "Yeah, anything won't taste good if you just add vinegar randomly."

Tong Xiaohuai, unusually, didn't get angry. She just smiled at him shyly, lowered her head, and carefully cut a small piece of steak into her mouth.

"By the way, you've had a good time at home these past two days, haven't you?"

At lunchtime, because everyone was in a rush, Yanbo didn't mention his family much, and Tong Xiaohuai didn't ask either.

Now that the two of them had plenty of time, Tong Xiaohuai suddenly remembered and casually asked a question.

Yanbo then remembered something. "Yeah, I'm pretty happy. By the way, I have a good friend, someone I've known since childhood, who said she wants to come over for a day or two. Would you like to come with me to pick her up?"

Yan Bo didn't intend to hide Tao Jia's situation from Tong Xiaohuai.

Originally, there was nothing between him and Tao Jia, so there was no need to hide it.

Tong Xiaohuai readily agreed, "Okay! Just tell me the exact time when you arrive, and I'll make the arrangements beforehand."

After answering, Tong Xiaohuai suddenly remembered, "Your friend, is he male or female?"

Yan Bo didn't hide anything, "She's a woman, the same age as me."

Before Tong Xiaohuai could ask anything, Yan Bo added.

“Her dad and my dad are good friends. We’ve been friends for generations and practically grown up together. We went to the same elementary and middle school and were in the same class. She’s a good friend of mine. This time when I went back home, I ran into her at my mom’s birthday banquet. I mentioned you to her, and she was very interested in you. So she suggested that I come over next week to visit and meet you.”

After what just happened, Yan Bo was afraid that Tong Xiaohuai would misunderstand, so he explained the matter in detail.

Besides, his parents wanted to match him up with Tao Jia.
