Chapter 960. Meeting the Parents

The cross-city villa urgently needs the third phase of funding. After the first phase of advance payment for the elevated bridge was made, there is still a considerable shortfall.

I thought that with Yanhuang's size and credit rating, we could easily get a loan from any bank in L City. Who knew that a dark horse would suddenly appear out of nowhere? Now Yanbo is really having a headache.

Di Xu had actually reminded him whether he should talk to Tong Xiaohuai about this.

Yan Bo felt it wasn't time yet and warned Di Xu not to let anything slip in front of Tong Xiaohuai.

This is why, even now, Tong Xiaohuai is still unaware that Yanbo is experiencing a cash shortage.

Tong Xiaohuai initially said she would close her eyes and take a nap, but the soothing music coming from her headphones made her drift off to sleep without realizing it.

After Yanbo carefully reviewed the project proposal and noted all the necessary revisions, he put the documents back into his briefcase.

He adjusted his chair to the same angle as Tong Xiaohuai's, turned his head, and looked at her sleeping peacefully.

To be honest, he never expected her to be so open-minded and brave. After learning the whole truth, she not only didn't blame him, but instead chose to face it with him.

He always believed that in this relationship, as the one who fell in love first, he must have been the one who loved more.

But now it seems that perhaps her love was no less than his.

As he thought about it, Yan Bo's gaze towards Tong Xiaohuai became even gentler and more affectionate.

He leaned over and kissed her rosy cheeks, then kissed her beautiful eyebrows and eyes, before lying down.

He covered her with the blanket, then reached under it and took her hand before closing his eyes contentedly.

He didn't mention his plan to take Tong Xiaohuai home to anyone, including Tao Jia.

Therefore, after the two came out of the airport, apart from the two bodyguards who accompanied Tong Xiaohuai helping to push their luggage, no one else came to pick them up.

Yan Bo hailed a taxi and booked a three-bedroom business suite at a hotel near his home. He was prepared not to sleep at home tonight if things went wrong with his family.

After unpacking their luggage at the hotel, they checked the time and realized it was lunchtime. Yanbo suggested, "How about we have lunch first before going back?"

Yan Bo mentally prepared for the worst: if he took Tong Xiaohuai back, they might disagree and he might be kicked out.

Both he and Tong Xiaohuai need good physical strength and energy to outwit their parents.

Tong Xiaohuai was quite tactful and didn't ask why she wasn't going home for dinner when she arrived at her doorstep. She just smiled and nodded, "Okay, this is your territory, remember to find me something good to eat."

Yan Bo was very familiar with Beijing, but he didn't go too far. He found a well-known restaurant near the hotel to have lunch.

Because it was very close, Yan Bo didn't stop the car and walked there with Tong Xiaohuai.

The restaurant lobby was bustling with activity; clearly, business was booming.

Just as Tong Xiaohuai was worrying about whether she could find a seat, a man in a Tang suit jogged over and exclaimed, "Oh, Young Master Yan, what a rare guest!"

Tong Xiaohuai immediately understood; it seemed that Yan Bo could simply use his face to gain entry here.

Yan Bo nodded and smiled at the man, whose gaze then shifted to Tong Xiaohuai. "And this is?"

Before Tong Xiaohuai could introduce herself, Yan Bo took her hand and introduced her with a smile, "This is my girlfriend! Her surname is Tong!"

"Xiao Huai, this is the owner here, Boss Chen!"

Tong Xiaohuai extended his hand, "Mr. Chen, it's a pleasure to meet you!"

"Tong Xiaohuai, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'll find you a VIP room right away. Please wait here for a moment."

Mr. Chen hurried off, and returned a few minutes later, leading them into a VIP room with orchids planted in the outer room.

"Tong Xiaohuai, what would you like to eat?" Boss Chen personally greeted them, showing that he was very clear about Yan Bo's identity.

Tong Xiaohuai was unfamiliar with this place, so she turned to Yan Bo and said, "You decide. Anyway, I'm not picky about food."

Tong Xiaohuai is not a picky eater; as long as it tastes good, she can eat her fill of anything.

Mr. Chen then turned to Yan Bo, who thought for a moment and said, "Then I'll trouble Mr. Chen to bring up whatever is fresh and in season, according to my usual taste."

Mr. Chen scribbled down a few dishes and a soup, then handed the menu to Yan Bo for a look.

Yan Bo first showed it to Tong Xiaohuai, who said it was fine, so he took it back, glanced at it, and handed it back to Boss Chen.

"Tong Xiaohuai, do you drink? I happen to have a few bottles of homemade plum wine here. It's not very strong and tastes pretty good."

Tong Xiaohuai occasionally enjoys a small drink, but this time she hesitated for a moment, "Maybe I shouldn't..."

After all, we're going to visit Yan Bo's elders soon. It would be disrespectful to be drunk and reeking of alcohol.

Yan Bo glanced at her and said to Boss Chen, who was turning to leave, "Since it's good wine, then please pack two bottles for us to drink tonight!"

Mr. Chen responded and left.

The food at this restaurant is indeed very good. Unlike the light flavors of restaurants in L City, the food here is more fragrant and rich.

Tong Xiaohuai didn't feel uncomfortable at all. Perhaps it was because the temperature in the capital was low, and eating these flavorful dishes had a unique taste.

Tong Xiaohuai was quite nervous on the plane, but this did not affect her appetite at all. Her thoughts were actually similar to Yan Bo's: only when she was full would she have the energy to deal with the various situations that might arise next.

So, she and Yan Bo ate until they were stuffed for their first meal in Beijing.

After paying the bill and leaving the restaurant, the thoughtful Yan Bo deliberately took her on a long detour in the vicinity. Therefore, it was almost an hour later when they arrived at the Yan family compound.

Standing outside the gate, Tong Xiaohuai, who had been distracted by the delicious food, returned just in time. Carrying the gift she had spent a long time choosing, she stood with Yan Bo outside the gate waiting for someone to open it.

"Does Tao Jia know you're back?" She deliberately tried to distract herself by bringing up another topic.

"She's been busy painting her masterpiece lately."

Tong Xiaohuai immediately understood. It must be Yan Bo's friend's modeling agency that recommended some good models to her.

"Should we ask her out in the next couple of days?"

Yanbo took the gift from her hands, and she nervously rubbed her hands together.

"We'll see. When she's painting, it's like she disappears into thin air; you might not be able to find her even if you wanted to. We'll see what happens then!"

Yanbo knew she was nervous, so he played along and started chatting casually about some topics.

The gatekeeper finally opened the door and was quite surprised to see Yan Bo.

"Third Young Master? Why didn't you tell me you were coming back?"
