Chapter 964. I'm sorry you had to suffer. Part Two

Tong Xiaohuai was filled with curiosity about this courtyard, which was completely different in style from the Tong family home. "Is it like my house?"

When Tong Xiaohuai took Yanbo for a walk in Tongjia Village, he told Yanbo that some of the buildings in Tongjia Village were over a hundred years old.

Yan Bo secretly compared them and said, "Hmm, they should be about the same."

In fact, the Yan family and the Tong family are quite similar.

These are all similar professions that have been passed down for generations, and people have gone further and further down this path.

The difference is that the two families have taken completely opposite paths; one is on the legitimate side, and the other is on the illegitimate side.

"You must have been very naughty when you were a child, right?"

Tong Xiaohuai recalled Tao Jia saying that Yan Bo had always been a leader among children since he was a child.

Yan Bo bent down and picked a small, unidentified flower from the nearby flower bushes, handing it to Tong Xiaohuai.

"How did you get the idea that I'm naughty?"

Tong Xiaohuai tilted her head, her smiling eyes sweeping over him a few times.

"It's obvious from anywhere that you're the kind of person who seems gentle and harmless on the surface, but is actually full of bad intentions inside."

Undeniably, Tong Xiaohuai was initially deceived by Yan Bo's gentle appearance.

However, before she fell in love with him, she had already noticed his cunning nature, and therefore, she had no resistance to him.

The two walked around in the yard, and their conversation mainly revolved around Yanbo's funny childhood stories.

This includes his joining the army with his older brother at a young age, and his frequent skipping of grades since elementary school...

Some of these things, Tong Xiaohuai had only heard Yan Bo mention briefly, while others were things she had never even heard of.

Compared to Tong Xiaohuai's childhood memories, Yan Bo's growth experience was undoubtedly much more colorful.

The two of them wandered around the yard several times without realizing it, until Uncle Cui came looking for them and the two young people realized that it was already late.

"Third Young Master, are you having dinner at home?"

Uncle Cui was unaware of what Aunt Yan had said to Yan Bo and Tong Xiaohuai, so he came over specifically to ask Yan Bo about it.

"Yes, we'll eat at home."

Even if we don't get enough to eat, we should at least give it a try.

Uncle Cui returned to the main house from the courtyard and happened to run into Aunt Yan coming out of the bedroom.

"Madam, there will be four of us having dinner tonight, is that right?"

Yan's mother was a little confused, "Four people? Isn't it just me and Lao Yan?"

"The Third Young Master and Miss Tong are still taking a walk and chatting in the courtyard outside. I just asked them, and the Third Young Master said they are having dinner at home."

Mother Yan frowned slightly. "They've been here all along?"

Uncle Cui nodded. "Yes, Madam, this is tonight's menu. Please take a look."

Yan's mother didn't take the menu and walked out of the yard.

"Madam, what about dinner tonight..."

"Whatever is fine!" Yan's mother said, and quickly disappeared.

After Yan's mother went out, she stood in front of the corridor.

In a pavilion a few dozen meters away, two young men were teasing their pet cat with tree branches.

That big tabby cat was brought home by Yanbo when he was a child. From Yan Zhong to Yan Yuan and Yan Su, none of the family members liked small animals. Only Yanbo, the youngest son, raised this tabby cat like a treasure.

The two young people were teasing the cat and talking about something. Their tone was light and cheerful, and their cheerful laughter could be heard from time to time.

Yan's mother stood there silently for nearly ten minutes, and finally, without saying anything, turned around and went back into the house.

"Madam, Mr. Yan called and said he would be home about ten minutes later than usual."

Although Yan Zhong holds a high position, he has very traditional family responsibilities and values. If he is busy and cannot come home or comes home late, he will always take the initiative to call home to let them know.

"knew!"

Yan's mother sat down on the sofa and casually turned on the TV.

Uncle Cui turned to leave, but then he heard the rustling sound of the television mixed with the clear voice of Aunt Yan.

"Didn't he know that Xiao Bo was back?"

"He" naturally refers to Yan Zhong.

"The Third Young Master said he wanted to give Elder Yan a surprise..."

Uncle Cui stood still, waiting for Aunt Yan's instructions.

Normally, whenever one of the young masters or ladies came home, Uncle Cui would always inform Yan Zhong. No matter how busy Yan Zhong was, he would always try his best to come back and see his children.

However, since Yan Bo had specifically instructed him to do so today, Uncle Cui did not mention it to Yan Zhong.

"Fine, if you didn't say anything, then forget it."

There will definitely be no surprises, more like shocks.

Thinking this to herself, Yan's mother randomly picked a channel and started watching it absentmindedly.

When Yan Zhong returned home, it was already dark. Yan Bo and Tong Xiaohuai also returned from the yard to the main house. After washing their hands, they helped bring out the food.

As soon as Yan Zhong entered the house, Yan Bo rushed to greet him, "Dad, you're back?"

Yan Zhong responded, unbuttoning his coat while glancing at his youngest son.

Why didn't you tell me you were coming back?

Yan Zhong thought that his youngest son had come back to talk to him about the bank loan.

But his assumption was quickly refuted.

"Since Xiaohuai and I both have time, I brought her back to meet you."

Yan Zhong stopped unbuttoning his shirt, his dark eyes fixed on his youngest son.

"Whom to bring?" These two simple words carried an unspoken pressure, sweeping over Yan Bo.

Yan Bo was used to his father's imposing aura. He steadied himself and said, "Dad, I brought my girlfriend, Xiao Huai, back with me."

After Yan Bo finished speaking, he turned around and waved to Tong Xiaohuai, who had just come out of the dining room. "Xiaohuai, come here."

Tong Xiaohuai had just helped carry the soup to the dining room and was about to go to the kitchen to get other dishes when she heard Yan Bo calling her. She looked over and immediately saw the imposing man she occasionally saw on TV.

The man's gaze fell upon them as Yan Bo called out. Although they were far apart, Tong Xiaohuai could still feel the powerful pressure, like a giant wave, rushing towards her.

A chill ran up her spine from her feet, and her subconscious wanted to escape, but reason told her that she couldn't back down.

She took a deep breath and strode forward, running towards the powerful air pressure.

"Dad, this is Xiao Huai."

The man stared at her without blinking, remaining silent and expressionless.

Tong Xiaohuai felt a chill run down her spine, but she still forced herself to bow slightly to the man. "Uncle, hello! My name is Tong Xiaohuai!"

The man glanced at her again, said nothing, then looked away, took off his coat and handed it to Yan Bo before striding into the inner room.

Yan Bo and Tong Xiaohuai, who were staring at each other in bewilderment, were left in the entryway.

Completely ignored, Tong Xiaohuai took a while to come to her senses and forced a bitter smile at Yan Bo.

Yanbo's heart felt like it was being gripped tightly by iron clamps. He reached out and gently pulled her into his arms.

"Xiao Huai, I'm sorry!"

Tong Xiaohuai rested her chin on his shoulder and gently shook her head. "It's okay, we'll take it slow!"
