Zhu Qianying assumed that the little guy had a better impression of the Red Team. She unscrewed the bottle of purified water on the table, drank more than half of it in one go, and then cheered for the Red Team in the rhythm and melody of the little guy.
"Go Red Team! Go Red Team!"
Zizai, who was lying face down on the table, first turned his head to look at her in surprise, then gave her a thumbs up, and turned his gaze back to the river to continue shouting.
"Go Red Team! Go Red Team!"
After all that shouting, Zhu Qianying felt her blood boiling. Her shouts, combined with Zizai's shouts, sounded even louder to her than the shouts from the riverbank below the stands.
Whether it was Zhu Qianying and Zizai's shouts that had an effect or not, the shouts of "Go Red Team!" from the crowd on the riverbank gradually drowned out the shouts of "Go Black Team!"
The black team, like a dark horse, continued to chase the red team with unstoppable momentum, even as the cheers from the red team grew louder and louder. With only a few dozen meters left to reach the finish line where the colorful flags were fluttering, the black team pursued relentlessly with great force, and soon they were running neck and neck with the red team.
This situation made the little guy Zizai very anxious.
Perhaps because she was extremely anxious, she went from lying on the table to climbing up and standing on it, waving her little hands and shouting loudly towards the river.
"Go Red Team! Go Red Team!"
Seeing this, Zhu Qianying smiled and said to Madam Yan, "Mom, look how engrossed Zizai is!"
After she finished speaking to Madam Yan, she turned around and started shouting again with Zizai. Meanwhile, after Zhu Qianying and Zizai had been shouting and holding their breath for a moment, in the last ten meters or so, the entire team suddenly seemed to have been injected with adrenaline, shouting loudly, waving their arms, and the oars were slicing through the water at high speed, splashing up a series of exciting water droplets.
Amidst the shouts and rapid arm movements of the red team members, the boat shot forward like a rocket, finally "whooshing" towards the shore.
As soon as the red team crossed the finish line first, Zizai immediately jumped and shouted on the table.
"Yay! Yay! Red team is awesome! Red team is fast! Red team is the best!!"
Zhu Qianying chuckled as she listened to his rhyming slogans.
I couldn't help but wonder, could this little guy have already come up with his winning slogan a long time ago?
Then, as Zhu Qianying listened to the emcee's announcement over the loudspeaker, "The Red Team, with a time 15 seconds ahead of the Black Team, has become the champion of this year's Dragon Boat Race!"
Zizai was still shouting, "Red team is awesome, red team is fast, red team is the best!!" Yanbo stood up and carefully put his hands around Zizai to prevent the little guy from getting too carried away and falling.
Zhu Qianying couldn't help but wonder, "You said that during the competition, it's normal to only say red team, blue team, black team, etc. for the convenience of commentary, but now that the champion has been announced, why haven't you revealed the background of the champion team?"
It seems the emcee heard Zhu Qianying's inner grumbling, because just as she finished complaining, the emcee's voice came over the loudspeaker.
"As you can see, three dragon boats have already crossed the finish line. Let's congratulate these three teams. First, the champion team is the Red Team, also known as the Tongjia Village Team! Congratulations! The runner-up team is the Black Team..."
After hearing what the emcee was saying after hearing the Tongjia Village team's name, Zhu Qianying couldn't hear anything anymore.
"Depend on!"
Zhu Qianying was so surprised that she couldn't help but swear. She turned her head and stared at Old Madam Yan with wide eyes, "Mom, you knew all along, didn't you?"
Madam Yan smiled without saying a word!
No wonder she was so certain that Zai Zai wouldn't choose the wrong side.
"So, this match wasn't sponsored by the Yanhuang Group, but by the Tong family?"
This time, Madam Yan nodded in agreement, prompting Zhu Qianying to tease her.
"No wonder they're so extravagant, just a few of us sitting in such a large grandstand!"
When Madam Yan and Yan Bo heard what Zhu Qianying said, they chuckled!
"Sweetie, you're also trying to hide this from Mommy, aren't you?"
The little guy blinked, then covered his mouth and shook his head frantically.
His reaction was clearly an admission of guilt.
"What about Young Master Yan? Since it's sponsored by the Tong family, there's no way he wouldn't come, right? Could it be that he's on the other side?"
As Zhu Qianying spoke, she finally picked up the binoculars that she had never used before, and scanned the faces on the opposite stage through the binoculars.
The faces she looked at were none as handsome and extraordinary as her husband. So, where did her wise and capable husband go?
"Sweetie, tell Mommy, where did your daddy go?"
In the morning, the two elders said that Young Master Yan had gone out to take care of some business. She naturally assumed that he must have gone back to Yanhuang to work overtime, or had met with a client for dinner, or even gone to play golf.
But now it seems that things are not so simple.
The little guy had already taken his hand down from his mouth, but now, hearing his mother ask him that, he looked at Yan Bo, then at Old Madam Yan, and raised his little hand again, ready to cover his mouth.
Zhu Qianying reached out and hugged him, letting him sit comfortably on her lap.
"Alright, I won't ask you anymore. Anyway, your daddy will show up when it's time!"
At this point, Zhu Qianying thought that since the Tong family was the sponsor, then Young Master Yan would probably be the award presenter for this competition.
She thought that even if she didn't guess everything correctly, she was pretty close.
Little did she know, her guess was far from the truth!
The three dragon boats that won first, second, and third place seemed to be much faster than the other nine. After chatting with Zizai and Madam Yan for a while, Zhu Qianying turned her gaze to the river. There were still two or three dragon boats paddling forward on the river.
Looking at the finish line, the dragon boats that had completed the race did not dock, but instead gathered in a group on the river, probably exchanging their experiences from the race.
Zhu Qianying, holding Zizai, watched the river with a sense of amusement. The staff member who had led them to the stands earlier suddenly appeared out of nowhere and was now walking quickly toward Zhu Qianying and the others.
When he reached Zhu Qianying, the man respectfully gestured for her to proceed.
"Mrs. Yan, Young Master Yan requests your presence."
Zhu Qianying became increasingly puzzled, "Where is Young Master Yan? Why did he invite you over?"
Zhu Qianying wondered if he wanted her to accompany him to present awards to the contestants. She had no desire to do such a thing.
"Mrs. Yan, you'll see when you get there!"
Zhu Qianying remained seated motionless, partly due to her wariness, and partly because of some strange intuitions that kept flashing through her mind.
"Ying'er, you should go with her," Old Madam Yan advised.
