Chapter 9: Showing Off Your Love Will Lead to a Quick Death
Anna's eyes lit up, and she was overjoyed. This was the first time she had been protected by Kolov, and she quietly moved closer to him.
Ji Wanwan forced herself to stand up, holding onto the handrail. The two of them looked quite well-matched, so why trap herself here?
Do you see the two of them being so loving and affectionate?
Ji Wanwan found it ridiculous, and her emotions gradually spiraled out of control: "If you don't want me to talk about her, then let her leave!"
Kolov's voice was even louder as he roared at her, "Ji Wanwan, if you don't want your grandmother to die, then you'd better study hard!"
Anna watched the show from the sidelines, her smile practically reaching her ears. It turned out that the two of them had nothing more to do with each other and posed no threat to her.
Ji Wanwan bit her lower lip tightly, and after a long while said, "Okay, I will study hard."
Ji Wanwan felt as if a thousand needles were piercing her heart; every breath she took was a tearing pain.
Not wanting to see the two of them again, he turned and went upstairs, his steps heavy.
The gold armrests have lost their mystique.
“Mr. Kolov, aren’t you being too harsh on her?” Anna seized the opportunity to grab his arm and said sweetly.
But Kolov forcefully pushed him away, his voice cold: "Do what you're supposed to do, and don't do what you're not supposed to do."
Anna suppressed her anger and said, "Okay."
Ji Wan went upstairs and looked at herself in the mirror. Her neck was red from where he had pinched her.
Her eyes were red, but she forced back her tears and cupped water in her hands, splashing it on her face.
The cool water gradually calmed Ji Wanwan down.
She secretly made up her mind that she must leave this place, leave Hailin Island!
As for Anna, she can only deal with things as they come...
Downstairs, after Kolov left, Anna treated this place as her own home, arrogantly ordering Wang Ma around to do chores.
"You, take these two lanterns away, they're so tacky!" She stood in front of the door with her arms crossed, staring disdainfully at the two big red lanterns.
“This is Miss Ji’s request… I’m afraid,” Wang Ma said hesitantly.
Anna yelled at her, "I'm the master of this island now. Will you listen to her or me?"
Anna acted exactly like a spoiled and arrogant young lady from a wealthy family, demanding that Wang Ma make changes wherever she was unhappy.
Wang Ma dared not offend her, and anyone with eyes could see that Kolov treated her differently.
He could only endure her temper and humbly do his work.
When Ji Wanwan came downstairs, she saw that the living room had changed a lot.
Anna sat on the sofa, playing with her fingers, while Wang Ma knelt on the floor to wipe Anna's shoes.
Ji Wanwan stormed downstairs in her slippers, helped Wang Ma up, and pointed at Anna: "Wang Ma is not your maid!"
"You have no right to order her around!"
Although Wang Ma didn't like her either, she didn't dare to resist.
“Miss Ji, I’m fine.” Aunt Wang’s weathered hand gently patted the back of her hand.
"Go and rest for a while," Ji Wanwan coaxed Wang Ma away.
After Wang Ma left, Ji Wanwan raised her hand and slapped Anna.
Her eyes narrowed slightly, and her tone carried a warning: "Stop with your thoughts. I'm still the mistress of this island!"
"And you are just an outsider."
Anna sat frozen in place, the handprint on her right cheek gradually becoming visible. She covered her face, looking at her in disbelief.
"You dare hit me?"
Do you know who I am?!
Anna's family is also quite powerful, but ultimately weaker than Kolov's. However, crushing an ant like Ji Wanwan would be a piece of cake for them.
Ji Wanwan looked down at her, her eyes full of arrogance: "I don't care who you are."
She was afraid of that monster, Kolov, but that didn't mean she was afraid of Anna.
Especially against cunning women like this, Ji Wanwan must take the initiative, otherwise trouble will only come one after another.
"You! You bastard!"
Anna stood up and grabbed Ji Wanwan's hair, pulling it haphazardly.
Ji Wanwan was not one to suffer in a place like this. She grabbed her hair and pulled her away.
Anna, a pampered young lady, had never suffered like this before. In pain, she let go of his hand and begged for mercy, "Let go of me, let me go."
Ji Wanwan smiled, released her grip, and touched her scalp.
It tears, it hurts! But I can bear it.
"I advise you not to mess with me, or I won't let you get away with this!"
Ji Wanwan's eyes hardened, and she directly threatened, hoping that she would stop bothering her.
Anna quickly tidied her hair and clothes, glaring at Ji Wanwan.
“I am the etiquette instructor, responsible for your behavior. I will tell Mr. Kolov everything that just happened.”
Ji Wanwan frowned. Kolov held her weakness in his hands, threatening her with her grandmother from time to time, so she dared not talk back to him directly like she did now.
If she tells Kolov, he'll probably cause her trouble again.
However, she didn't want to give in to her!
He uttered two words casually: "Whatever."
Anna gritted her teeth. Why did Kolov have to lock her up here?!
It's neither like nor dislike!
She didn't quite understand.
Kolov came again that evening.
When Ji Wanwan saw him, her expression remained extremely indifferent.
He was quietly doing his own thing, but he could hear Anna reporting to Kolov over the loudspeaker.
“Mr. Kolov, Miss Ji is really unruly. I taught her manners, but she slapped me. You can still see the mark here.”
Fabricated nonsense!
If this is a report, it's more like a spoiled complaint...
The implication was that Ji Wanwan was wrong for hitting someone.
Ji Wanwan heard it, but didn't offer any explanation, as long as he didn't ask her.
At the dining table, Ji Wanwan sat upright, behaving very properly. She ate slowly and deliberately, and when she made eye contact with Kolov, she managed a forced smile, displaying impeccable table manners.
Ji Wanwan watched videos to catch up on the material herself, not wanting anyone to find fault with it.
Ironically, Kolov agreed to let Anna sit at the table and even let her sit next to him, with Anna thoughtfully serving him food.
"Mr. Love, eat more."
Kolov did not refuse, his eyes always on Ji Wanwan, observing the subtle expressions on her face.
But there was no sign of jealousy; his hand under the table slowly clenched.
"It seems Miss Anna has taught very well." Kolov smiled, but it was a smile that was unsettling.
"Miss Ji learned very quickly." Anna pretended to be modest and attributed the credit to Ji Wanwan.
However, Ji Wanwan did learn quickly; she didn't teach her at all, and there was no need to use her skills.
Ji Wanwan put down her chopsticks, showing no respect for Anna, and said bluntly, "I'm the one who learns quickly; you didn't teach me anything."
Anna looked embarrassed, glancing at Kolov and then at Ji Wanwan. To avoid losing her composure in front of Kolov, she forced a smile.
"Yes, Miss Ji has a naturally good figure."
Ji Wanwan's major is dance and music, so her posture is naturally excellent, and learning these etiquette rules is a piece of cake for her.
"Really?" Kolov picked up some food, but didn't touch the food Anna had put on her plate.
Anna looked at him with a suggestive gaze, her hand inadvertently touching his arm: "Of course."
The two of them were showing affection right in front of Ji Wanwan, making her feel like a third wheel.
Ji Wanwan's inner thoughts: Showing off your love will lead to a quick demise!
