Chapter 77 You're being long-winded.
The next day, the sunlight fell on Ji Wanwan's fair legs, and the shadow of the flowing gauze was drawn out, just enough to cover her face.
Ji Wanwan had initially buried herself completely under the covers, but after a night, the covers were kicked to the floor...
She slowly opened her eyes, still sleepy, as if she had gradually forgotten what had happened yesterday.
Ji Wanwan leaned back against the headboard, paused for a moment, stared at her ankle, and turned it slightly.
"It doesn't seem to hurt as much anymore," she murmured.
There is almost no swelling now, and it has returned to its previous state.
She rubbed it, and the irritating stinging pain subsided.
Ji Wanwan decided to forgo the crutches and try to walk instead.
She first held onto the wall and slowly stood up, then let go and walked step by step.
Yes, that's good. I don't need a cane anymore.
Having gotten used to walking with crutches, Ji Wanwan had almost forgotten how to walk.
The way things are going now is really awkward.
When she finished washing up and came out of the room, she saw the rice bucket curled up into a ball of fur, its reddish-brown fur shining in the sunlight.
Ji Wanwan looked down at it for a long time, wondering whether she should pick it up, but she didn't dare.
Just as she hesitated, the bucket's claws moved, and Ji Wanwan took a few steps back.
"Is she about to wake up?"
Why is this dog following her around like that? She's genuinely afraid of dogs.
Ji Wanwan tiptoed, trying to walk around it, but it suddenly stood up and started whimpering at her.
The little boy with short legs trotted over to Ji Wanwan's feet, tugging at her trouser leg, his little head wanting to get close to hers.
Ji Wanwan looked troubled, but seeing how cute it was, she couldn't bear to kick it away.
"Are you clinging to me now?"
The short tail of the rice bucket kept swaying.
Seeing that it wouldn't bite her, Ji Wanwan compromised: "Okay."
When Ji Wanwan went downstairs, she found Gu Yunting sitting leisurely on the sofa, fiddling with the exquisite objects on the table.
Seeing the smile on Ji Wanwan's face.
"We meet again."
Ji Wanwan looked left and right. How did he get in?
Dmitry is just going to ignore it?
She rarely sees Dmitri now; he's always out early and back late, and she doesn't know what he's busy with.
How did you get in?
"That idiot brought me here."
Ji Wanwan exclaimed "Ah!" and looked down at the rice bucket at her feet.
Ji Wanwan had already locked the door, so there was no way he could have come in from the outside. There was only one possibility.
"You crawled in through the dog hole?"
Ji Wanwan looked him up and down; his figure was so small that he could barely squeeze in.
Gu Yunting stood up abruptly and retorted, "How could I possibly crawl through a dog hole!"
He's the eldest son of the Gu family, after all; he should at least have some self-respect.
Gu Yunting pointed at Ji Wanwan: "Don't talk nonsense, it will sound terrible if word gets out."
"Oh, so that means circumventing the Great Firewall."
That wall is quite high; if you fall down, you'll be face-first in the dirt.
No wonder there was a black patch on his collar and some slightly damp dirt on the hem of his clothes. Even though he cleaned it up, there were still traces.
"Don't bring up the past..." Gu Yunting had no rebuttal this time, and chose to climb over the wall rather than crawl through the dog hole.
At least it's decent.
I never expected that the Gu family would build a house later. There was no such house before, and I don't know what it was.
"Why did you go to all this trouble to find me?" Ji Wanwan looked at him with confusion.
She was certain that yesterday was the first time she had met him, and the two had no prior contact.
Something felt off about this person climbing over the wall to find her so early in the morning.
It has a hint of conspiracy.
Gu Yunting coughed a few times to cover up his embarrassment. He wouldn't have done these things if it weren't for wanting to leave the Gu family.
He certainly wouldn't go back home; otherwise, he'd be in a meeting at the company right now.
"Are you sure you're staying here because of a fight?" Gu Yunting asked again, just in case he had made a mistake.
Ji Wanwan hesitated for a moment, then gave a faint "hmm".
She didn't know what Gu Yunting was like, or whether he was a friend or foe, so she couldn't reveal too much.
"So you're not going back?"
His goal was to persuade her to go back to Kolov, since they were a couple anyway, and arguments in bed are usually resolved quickly; staying here wouldn't solve anything.
"I won't reply."
Having finally escaped, it would be foolish for Ji Wanwan to go back.
Gu Yunting frowned. This conflict was too deep. His own wife was so angry, yet he wouldn't come in person.
He was also asked to act as a matchmaker...
Gu Yunting had never been in a relationship before, which made things a bit difficult for him.
"Go back and have a good talk with him; even the deepest conflicts can be resolved."
?
What is he saying?
They probably didn't really think she was having a fight and were trying to comfort her.
But she made this up; didn't he cross the line?
"You're being a bit long-winded."
She wondered what his purpose was, but it turned out he was just bored and came to inquire about her.
...
Upon hearing this, Gu Yunting immediately fell silent. They were indeed a pair, both difficult people to deal with.
Now all I can think about is how to get her out of here.
"Okay, I've said too much."
"Yes, I did talk too much. You can leave now." Dmitri returned a while later and, seeing him, chased him away as well.
"I'll wait a bit before I leave." Gu Yunting was wondering what he would have to do to get her to leave the Gu family.
But now he has no idea what to do and is starting to regret being too blunt.
Ji Wanwan frowned as she looked at him. Another deadbeat?
The rice bucket was stuck to her leg, making it difficult for her to walk, so she squatted down and tried to pick it up.
Before she could even reach out, the rice bucket jumped right into her arms.
Ji Wanwan held it tightly, too afraid to move, enjoying its fluffy texture.
"It's a bit heavy..."
"Idiot." Gu Yunting called out, expecting it to come to him, but it didn't move at all.
They betrayed us so quickly?
“It is indeed a bit heavy, after all, it’s called a ‘rice bucket’ because it has a huge appetite,” Gu Yunting said.
"Is it hungry now?"
"Hmm, it won't eat ordinary food, it's very picky." Gu Yunting had a flash of inspiration, perhaps he could use the rice bucket to get her out of there.
"Then what does it eat?" Ji Wanwan looked at the rice bucket in her arms, which seemed to be starving. She hadn't given it anything to eat last night.
"Well, you'll see when you come with me to the front yard."
"Oh, then you can go by yourself." He said, preparing to put the rice bucket down.
Ji Wanwan wasn't stupid; this person was always trying to get her out of the house, and he had a suspicious look on his face.
And she just promised Dmitri yesterday that she wouldn't go to the front yard.
...
"Hey, you..." Gu Yunting was really at a loss. Why was it so difficult?
It's difficult to support a family and make it strong, and it's also difficult to persuade a married couple to reconcile.
Ji Wanwan placed the rice bucket on the ground, angrily barked at Gu Yunting a few times, her face full of dissatisfaction.
He was perfectly fine in Ji Wanwan's arms, but he had to lie to her. He's a glutton and will eat anything, he's not picky at all.
Just then, the servants finished preparing the meal. Ji Wanwan didn't want to talk to Gu Yunting anymore, since they weren't familiar with each other.
As soon as Ji Wanwan sat down at the table, the glutton followed, his mouth watering at the sight of the dishes.
Ji Wanwan noticed and picked up a piece of meat for it, showing off excitedly.
He was lying to her, even saying she was a picky eater!
But what is his purpose?
