Chapter 71 You feel that much sorry for him?
Kolov wanted to see just how much Ji Wanwan would cry for Gu Qingci!
Does he even deserve Ji Wanwan's tears?
Ji Wanwan's back stiffened as she leaned against the doorframe. Should she turn on the camera?
She glanced at Dmitri for his opinion, but he failed her at the crucial moment and said nothing.
The person watching her with an expression of detached amusement seemed strangely familiar.
She was watching Katya on top of him at that moment.
But now is not the time to hold grudges!
Shouldn't we be thinking about how to save Gu Qingci?
Dmitry remained silent mainly because he had seen through Kolov. If he spoke again, and Kolov found out that a man had been accompanying Ji Wanwan, wouldn't that only further enrage him?
Seeing that he remained unmoved, Ji Wanwan finally gave in and wiped away her tears.
First, get rid of the image of Gu Qingci in your mind; at least that proves he's still alive.
They just lived a very poor life.
Ji Wanwan thought to herself that she would make it up to him later.
Now we need to figure out how to deal with Kolov.
After a long while, seeing that Ji Wanwan didn't speak or turn on the camera, Kolov sent a threatening message.
"I'll give you three seconds, or I'll kill him."
Ji Wanwan took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down, and then turned on the camera, but she didn't point it at herself.
"It's open. Are you satisfied?" Even though he tried to suppress his emotions, his voice was still hoarse.
How could Kolov not know her little scheme? He wanted to see Ji Wanwan.
"Show me a wall?"
Ji Wanwan was speechless, knowing she couldn't get away with it.
Then I adjusted the angle, pointed the camera at my face, and deliberately switched the two lenses.
Ji Wanwan is on the large screen, while Kolov is on the small screen, in the upper left corner.
She had originally hidden Kolov's image, but then, thinking it might give Gu Qingci a shot, she pulled it out again.
Kolov stared intently at the corners of her eyes, which were severely red, and gritted his teeth: "Ji Wanwan! You're something else, crying even harder than you did in bed!"
"You feel so sorry for him?"
Ji Wanwan rolled her eyes, looking at her own eyes. They weren't that serious at all, but he made them sound so serious.
Besides, who could laugh after seeing Gu Qingci like that?
It's probably just Kolov left.
Ji Wanwan pointed the camera at her ankle and bent down to rub it.
"No, I cried because of the pain."
Kolov seemed to laugh in anger, and the words he uttered were more and more imperial than the last.
"Crying from pain? You wouldn't cry like this when you're in bed!"
Ji Wanwan turned the volume down and looked up at Dmitri leaning against the railing outside.
Fortunately, she probably can't hear, otherwise how would she face anyone? She might as well live on another planet.
"I don't want to argue with you. What do you want in order for you to release them?"
The more they talked, the happier Kolov became.
Kolov raised an eyebrow: "It's simple, come back to me."
Ji Wanwan hesitated for a moment after looking at Dmitri. It wasn't that she didn't want to save Gu Qingci, but that he wouldn't let her out.
Just as she was about to agree, Dmitri turned around, snatched the phone away unexpectedly, and then hung up on it without hesitation.
I originally just wanted to see if Gu Qingci was dead or not, but now I think he's probably not dead for the time being.
Anyone with eyes could see that Kolov was trying to use Gu Qingci to threaten Ji Wanwan and force her to go back obediently.
Even if Ji Wanwan doesn't go back, Gu Qingci won't die, so he has nothing to worry about.
Ji Wanwan stared at the black screen, her mouth agape, completely bewildered.
"You just died like that?"
Gu Qingci isn't going to save her?
Or perhaps he wasn't worried about Gu Qingci's safety at all.
"Not hanging up? Are you waiting for him to brainwash you?" Dmitri glanced at her coldly and tossed the phone to her.
Then she'll start crying and demanding to leave, and stopping her will be incredibly troublesome.
"No way!" Ji Wanwan retorted.
She knew that Kolov meant what he said, after all, he had shown no mercy when he broke her leg, let alone Gu Qingci.
“He really will die. He’s a madman. Don’t you know that?” Ji Wanwan pleaded earnestly.
She didn't want to see Gu Qingci die.
Dmitri, however, said with absolute certainty, "No."
Ji Wanwan gripped her phone tightly, her body sliding against the door frame. She looked up at Dmitri and really wanted to kick him down.
But my feet are still useless.
The person is completely useless.
We can only wait here, there's nothing we can do.
Looking at the black screen in front of her, Ji Wanwan wondered whether she should call back.
I'm also afraid of Kolov's crazy face...
After all, Ji Wanwan hung up on him again!
The two remained deadlocked for almost an hour, with Dmitri refusing to let her leave.
Gu Qingci's fate is now uncertain.
A blinding ray of light shone through the gloomy sky, shining directly onto her delicate little face.
With a few tear stains still on her face, Ji Wanwan raised her hand to cover them and moved her body to the shadows to the side.
Just as she was about to speak again to persuade him, the phone screen lit up briefly, accompanied by a "ding".
A message came in...
And it can only be information from Kolov.
Ji Wanwan quickly swiped her phone, opened the chat history, and found a video.
The video cover image is of a red-hot branding iron being pressed hard onto Gu Qingci's blood-red right shoulder.
Instantly, her pupils contracted, and she lost even the courage to open it.
She had witnessed the lethality of that branding iron firsthand; Anna's heart-wrenching screams echoed through the dungeon back then, so you can imagine what it was like...
The branding iron was much larger, covering almost the entire right shoulder.
Ji Wanwan didn't dare to open it. Her voice trembled as she hurriedly cried out, "Please let me go. He's really dying."
She held out her phone for Dmitri to see.
Dmitri turned around when he heard the sound, picked up his phone, glanced at it a few times, and then tossed it back to her.
The voice remained cold: "You won't die."
The phone landed precisely in her hand, and the video that Dmitri had opened was presented to Ji Wanwan.
She didn't want to see it, but she still saw it.
Gu Qingci's usually cool and aloof brows furrowed with pain, but he gritted his teeth and could only let out muffled groans of agony.
Ji Wanwan couldn't bear to watch such a bloody scene and was about to turn it off when she heard Kolov's voice, mixed with the sizzling sound of the branding iron hitting the skin.
"I'll give you three hours. If you don't see him, I'll kill him."
"Wanwan, you don't think I'm joking, do you?"
In an instant, the video ended, and Ji Wanwan stood there stunned, her phone slipping from her hands and falling to the floor.
Her lips moved: "Three hours, death..."
She believed that Kolov would kill Gu Qingci.
Suddenly, Ji Wanwan gripped the door frame tightly, her fingertips turning white from the force, as guilt towards Gu Qingci surged into her heart once again.
She doesn't want to.
She doesn't want to live like this.
Ignoring Dmitri's attempts to stop her, Ji Wanwan threw her crutch to the ground and limped along, supporting herself against the wall.
She only has three hours left; she has to save him.
Dmitri watched Ji Wanwan's stubborn back, unsure whether Qianxi could save her.
