Chapter 571 Poisoning

Mo Qingcheng snapped out of her daze and, without asking any more questions, flashed off and headed straight for Li Changgeng's house.

Before even entering the house, I heard Liu Cuihua's earth-shattering, ghost-weeping cries, and I twitched my ears.

"Sister-in-law, what happened?" Mo Qingcheng stepped into the house, lifting the curtain as she asked.

As if seeing a savior, Liu Cuihua knelt down with a thud and hugged Mo Qingcheng's legs: "Madam Mo, help me..."

Mo Qingcheng looked up and saw Li Changgeng lying on the kang with a pale face and black lips, clearly showing signs of poisoning.

"Cuihua, let go of Mo Niangzi!" Grandma Li sobbed, raising her old face with tears glistening in her eyes.

The youngest son and his two grandsons were unaware of the situation and were not present; only Liu Cuihua and her daughter-in-law were there, looking pitiful.

Mo Qingcheng took a deep breath: "Sister-in-law, I'm going to check on Brother Li."

Liu Cuihua realized what was happening, wiped away her tears with her sleeve, and sniffed, "Madam Mo, my child's father is counting on you..."

"Don't worry, sister-in-law. As long as I'm here, even the King of Hell can't take Brother Li away," Mo Qingcheng quickly reassured him, then stepped aside to the edge of the kang (heated brick bed).

Liu Cuihua covered her mouth tightly, not daring to disturb Mo Qingcheng's pulse diagnosis.

A moment later, a cold glint flashed in Mo Qingcheng's eyes. She turned around, the coldness concealing itself: "Sister-in-law, Brother Li is just poisoned. I'll go back and prepare the antidote."

"Huh? Really? You won't die?" Liu Cuihua's face was streaked with tears, her eyes filled with disbelief.

Mo Qingcheng was speechless: "Sister-in-law, if you keep delaying like this, I can't do anything about it..."

Liu Cuihua nearly choked on her saliva: "Lady Mo, hurry up! Hurry up!"

Mo Qingcheng flashed back home and plunged into the alchemy room.

Mu Wanqing followed her in, her footsteps echoing, "Mother, what are you doing?"

"Refine the antidote."

"Hmm? Mother, who's been poisoned?" The little girl blinked her starry eyes, picked up her brush, and eagerly tried to answer.

"Qing'er, don't cause trouble, help your mother." Mo Qingcheng was both amused and exasperated.

A hint of disappointment flashed in Mu Wanqing's eyes, but the next second she eagerly started helping out.

After a stick of incense had burned, Mo Qingcheng instructed Mu Wanqing to clean up the mess, then transformed into a blur and arrived at Li Changgeng's house. As soon as she lifted the curtain, Liu Cuihua bumped into her.

"Lady Mo..."

"Calm down!" Mo Qingcheng quickly poured the antidote down Li Changgeng's throat. The pill refining process took too long, and they couldn't wait to save his life.

Li Changgeng had completely lost consciousness, and the antidote could no longer be administered. Mo Qingcheng turned around and said, "Sister-in-law, come here."

"Huh?" Liu Cuihua was stunned. Could she be... what she thought?

"Sister-in-law, it's just what you think, hurry up." Mo Qingcheng handed the medicine bowl to Liu Cuihua.

Liu Cuihua blushed as she drank the antidote and then slowly fed it to Li Changgeng. Grandma Li lowered her eyes and sighed inwardly.

A quarter of an hour later, Li Changgeng let out a soft moan and slowly opened his eyes, his vision somewhat blurry.

"Cough cough... Where is the King of Hell?" Li Changgeng asked subconsciously.

Liu Cuihua wiped away her tears and cursed, "You heartless bastard! How could you abandon us, a widow and her children? Bah!"

"..." Li Changgeng blushed, and when he caught a glimpse of Mo Qingcheng and his mother out of the corner of his eye, he looked a little uncomfortable.

Mo Qingcheng stepped forward, "Brother Li, let me take a look at you."

Li Changgeng breathed a sigh of relief, his words still a little slurred: "Thank you... thank you!"

"Brother Li, you're too kind..." After checking Li Changgeng and confirming that he was fine and only needed a few days of rest, Mo Qingcheng gradually felt relieved.

Li Changgeng opened his mouth, but hesitated to speak.

Mo Qingcheng's eyes flickered slightly: "Brother Li, is there something you want to say?"

Li Changgeng nodded.

"Okay, Brother Li, please rest first. I'll come again tomorrow..."
