The children cried their eyes out as they followed Mo Qingcheng out of the secret room.
Hu Lai was startled: "Lady Mo, I'll help you!"
"Hmm, please check on Yichen..." Mo Qingcheng placed the little boy on the kang (a heated brick bed), her beautiful eyes slightly furrowed. Who told you to stubbornly endure this, brat?
The little ones, including Bai Ziming, had tear stains on their faces and dared not cry out loud. Bai Ziming, in particular, wished he could rush into Mo Qingcheng's arms and cry his heart out.
Hu Lai dared not be negligent and checked the situation himself. He breathed a slight sigh of relief: "Lady Mo... the little guy is fine."
Mo Qingcheng nodded, and the little ones wiped away their tears and silently watched over her.
Yunlei stormed in, seething with anger: "Sister... what happened?"
Before he could finish speaking, sensing the awkward atmosphere, he swallowed the rest of his words. Mo Qingcheng patted his shoulder and whispered, "Thank you for your hard work!"
"..." Yun Lei opened his mouth, what the hell? The black figure disappeared before his eyes, and he hadn't come to his senses yet.
A cold glint flashed in Hu Lai's beautiful peach blossom eyes: "Your sister is tired..."
"Do you need to tell me?" Yun Lei rolled his eyes and turned to leave. Hu Lai's eyes flickered slightly as he went to change his clothes.
Before long, a faint fragrance wafted over, and the little ones sniffed hard. Mo Qingcheng urged them to eat and go to sleep, but... for the first time ever, even the little foodie Bai Zimo didn't budge.
"Only when you're full will you have the strength to feed the boss."
Before the words were even finished, the little ones rushed over and silently began to eat heartily...
As dawn broke, Shangguan Yichen slowly opened his cold eyes, and the heart-wrenching cries made him frown.
Mo Qingcheng crossed her arms and watched the excitement, letting the brat get used to it before starting his grueling training.
Shangguan Yichen turned his head and fixed his gaze on Mo Qingcheng's face, asking with his eyes what the result was.
Mo Qingcheng understood immediately, took out a few gold leaves from her bosom and waved them: "It's all thanks to my handsome little brother."
There weren't many gold leaves, only ten in total. Shangguan Yichen got two, and the rest of the people got one.
Bai Zimo grinned: "Mother, Big Brother, Momo has money now, can we buy candied hawthorns?"
"Pfft!" Bai Yunfei burst out laughing: "Fifth Brother, are you stupid?"
“Mother, it seems you’ve forgotten something…” Mu Yunchuan glanced at Mo Qingcheng with a half-smile.
Mo Qingcheng slapped her forehead: "You brat, would it have killed you to tell your mother sooner?"
Overwhelmed with remorse, Mo Qingcheng suddenly remembered that Bai Yueniang and her family of three were hiding in the cellar. To express her apology, Mo Qingcheng personally cooked some wild vegetable soup and cut some cooked meat.
Bai Yueniang swallowed hard: "Sister Mo... I'm not hungry, give it to the children."
Xuan Yuan Tong and Xuan Yuan Ying's eyes welled up with tears as they looked up at Bai Yue Niang. Aunt Mo was no longer family to them; they couldn't be greedy.
"Aunt Mo..." Xuan Yuan Ying was interrupted by Mo Qing Cheng's gentle voice before she could finish speaking.
"Since you call me Aunt Mo, we're family from now on. Yue Niang, stop dawdling, eat and go get some rest."
Bai Yueniang was slightly taken aback, then nodded firmly, and began wolfing down her food with her two children, making Hu Lai frown. "A starving ghost reincarnated? Doesn't she know how hard Mo Niangzi works?"
Mo Qingcheng glared at Hu Lai. Wasn't he supposed to be a miracle doctor who saved lives? Fake, authentication complete.
Hu Lai, tears streaming down his face, took a deep breath. It was all his fault for being so sharp-tongued; he had to endure it even if he had to kneel down…
Mo Qingcheng chased everyone away and stood guard beside Shangguan Yichen. A suspicious blush crept onto the young boy's cold face: "I'm a man, I don't need you to guard me."
"Pfft! Haha!"
