Chapter 41 Will My Mom Die?

Chapter 41 Will My Mom Die?

Zhao Chunhua lit a bonfire and asked Zhang Tianbao and Zhang Tianfu to guard the important supplies, while she and Xie Lanqin were responsible for looking after the food and other items.

While everyone was asleep, Zhao Chunhua quietly moved the hen to her own secret space.

The chicken had been frightened a lot during the day and was now dying. It couldn't even crow loudly and it was obviously about to die.

So she quickly fed it some clean water and wheat grains from the space.

Soon, the chicken became lively as if it was a different bird.

Only then did Zhao Chunhua breathe a sigh of relief.

The reason we keep this hen is that we hope it can hatch the eggs, so that we can have a constant supply of food in the future, and maybe even sell them for money!

Imagination is always better, but Zhao Chunhua calculated the time and found that it would take at least half a year for the chicks to grow before they could start laying eggs. This process would take a lot of effort.

She suddenly thought, if she raised chickens in her secret garden, would they grow faster?

While I was thinking, my stomach suddenly started to hurt.

After hurriedly leaving the space, she ran to a secluded grove to relieve herself.

The night was very quiet, with only the occasional chirping of insects.

The pain made Zhao Chunhua's expression very distorted. Recalling what she had eaten today, it should be the wild fruit that caused the trouble.

After a lot of trouble, it was finally over.

Just as Zhao Chunhua was about to go back, she found Xie Lanqin coming over with her nose covered with her hands.

"Where have you been so late?" Zhao Chunhua asked.

Xie Lanqin seemed very anxious: "Mom, I just woke up and found that the chicken we put in the basket was missing, so I wanted to go outside to look for it."

"You got up earlier than me. Did you see the chicken?"

Of course Zhao Chunhua couldn't tell anyone that she had hidden it in a special place, so she could only pretend to be surprised: "What? Lost? Then hurry up and look for it! How about this, you go over there and take a look, I'll go a little further ahead and see if I can find any clues, and let's try not to make too much noise."

Xie Lanqin nodded and agreed: "Okay, I'll go over now."

After watching Xie Lanqin disappear, Zhao Chunhua also fell into deep thought...

Rather than letting the chicken starve in reality and worry about it being stolen, it would be better to say that the chicken had run away, so that she doesn't have to take it out from another space.

After making up her mind, Zhao Chunhua walked to the edge of the cliff in front and pretended to search for a while.

When Xie Lanqin came back, Zhao Chunhua told her directly: "Don't look for it anymore. The chicken probably ran away on its own."

Xie Lanqin frowned and looked unconvinced.

"But I clearly used rocks to hold down the backpack, how could it possibly escape?"

Then, her eyes widened, "Mom, did someone steal our chickens?"

Seeing her like that, Zhao Chunhua nodded: "It is indeed possible."

Just when she was about to let Xie Lanqin go home first, she suddenly covered her stomach and said in pain: "Mom, my stomach hurts, come and help me."

In an instant, Zhao Chunhua became nervous and wondered if she was going to give birth.

"Let me help you." But just as she reached out her hand to help, Xie Lanqin suddenly pushed her away.

The push caused her to fall backwards - there was a cliff behind her!

Zhao Chunhua's eyes widened, and she saw Xie Lanqin opposite her also had a terrified expression.

Oh my God, what kind of sin has this committed?

While cursing inwardly, the feeling of weightlessness made Zhao Chunhua close her eyes.

On the other side, Xie Lanqin ran back sobbing, and her crying woke everyone up.

Zhang Tianbao saw his wife so excited and asked impatiently, "It's the middle of the night, why are you howling there?"

The others looked at her with confusion.

Xie Lanqin sobbed and said, "I just woke up from a dream and found that our chickens were missing, so I went out to look for them. I happened to run into my mother-in-law who was out having a restroom, so I told her what happened."

"She said we should search separately, and asked me to go to the woods, and she came over here. But no matter how hard we looked, we couldn't find the chicken. I wanted to go back to report to my mother-in-law, but who knew..." At this point, Xie Lanqin started crying again.

Zhang Tianbao asked anxiously: "Why don't you explain it clearly? What happened to mother-in-law?"

"She accidentally fell down the cliff!" Xie Lanqin replied with a sob.

"What did you say?" Zhang Dajun stood up suddenly, "My mother fell to the bottom of the cliff?"

Xie Lanqin nodded with tears in her eyes.

Upon hearing this, Zhang Dajun ran out immediately, and the others followed him to the scene of the accident.

When the villagers heard that something had happened, they rushed to the scene with torches.

Zhang Tianfu and Zhang Dajun took the torch and looked down the cliff, but unfortunately they could see nothing but pitch darkness.

"Mom! Can you hear us?" Zhang Tianfu shouted loudly into the abyss.

His desperate voice echoed in the valley, but he received no response...

Zhang Dajun was so anxious that his eyes turned red. He shouted, "Mom! I am Dajun! If you hear me, just answer me!"

It was still quiet down there.

Zhao Chunhua's children looked at the dark bottom of the cliff and their eyes became moist.

Zhang Ruoan wiped his nose with his hand and comforted him: "Tianfu, Dajun, maybe your mother has already... Just accept the reality, there is still a long way to go in the future."

Zhang Dajun immediately got angry and retorted: "Don't talk nonsense! My mother is not dead!"

Xie Lanqin said: "I saw my mother fall off with my own eyes. How could she survive such a high cliff? Tian Bao, let's go back first and talk about it later."

She grabbed Zhang Tianbao's arm and prepared to pull him away.

After hearing this, everyone thought that Zhao Chunhua must have passed away.

"Mom won't die." Zhang Daniu, who usually doesn't talk much, suddenly spoke.

His eyes were firm, and despite his young age, he said with certainty: "My mother will not die."

Zhang Dajun followed suit and said, "That's right. My mother was so capable, how could she die? If you dare to say that my mother is dead again, I will cut your mouth with a sickle!"

Zhang Dajun looked at everyone fiercely, and his expression was exactly like Zhao Chunhua's when she was angry.

Zhang Tianbao sighed and said nothing.

The others also understood that the two of them were just temporarily unable to face reality, so they stopped provoking them.

But at this time, Bai Xiaowei shouted in the crowd: "Zhao Chunhua must be dead after falling from such a high place! I'm afraid she is already dead! I heard that this mountain is full of jackals, tigers and leopards. If we go down and look for her tomorrow morning, we may be able to find her body."

Hearing this, Zhang Dajun's anger immediately emerged.

He drew out his sickle and rushed to Bai Xiaowei in three or two steps.

"You said my mother is dead? I'll kill you now!" As he said that, he raised the sickle and was about to chop at Bai Xiaowei.

Bai Xiaowei was startled and quickly hid behind Zhang Defu.
